  • Have missed dragons since Makin' Magic. I hope so. Just don't make them eat my flowers like they did then lol.
  • Lol, let's start a new thread, pictures of sims wearing cupcake bras. Love the new hangout that came with this pack. Trying to figure out where in Bridgeport I'm going to fit it though lol...
  • Never considered that aspect of it lol... but with all the downloads of clothing from The Store and some 3rd party stuff, some of my townies are already dressed weird anyway. (I lol'd when I saw a mixologist wearing a New Year's party hat once.) I can live with it I guess; the chance of Sweet Treats outfits is proportional…
  • Got it today; the Target where I went (Lone Tree, CO; I-25 & Lincoln) said they were having a problem getting it to ring up, but once they got me a copy and tried again it worked fine. The Target circular does advertise the release date as today (some individual Targets may have it listed as later, but June 5 is the…
  • A free 100 simpoints, that's it. Not enough to sweeten the deal IMO. If they drop the price by at least half, I'd consider it.
  • Nope, can only feed on other human sims (they'll usually refuse if you're not at least friends with them).
  • I got tired of telling people it was a fake, and a rather obvious one, yet people still fall for it. I have no doubt there will be a Sims 4 eventually but EA has never made any announcement to that effect yet.
  • Um 8 years? Sims 3 has only been in existence for a little over 3 years. (Unless you're counting Sims 2 and/or Sims 1 I suppose.) Most of the major bugs have either been fixed by EA or can be fixed with 3rd party mods. But hey, if you just don't enjoy it any more, then by all means quit playing it. It is a game after all;…
  • I've had exactly the opposite happen once; I got a message claiming the baby got fat immediately after she was born. Funny thing is that baby is a young adult and quite on the thin side, like her mother. (Her brother is quite fat and takes after his father.)
  • To be fair, the thing with insects is not really a bug per se; it's because Pets spawns new rodents, snakes, lizards, birds, etc. and these spawns compete with beetles and butterflies now. So finding specific beetles and butterflies will take longer, because of the other things that can spawn instead in the same places.…
  • I thought it looked ridiculous too, driving around in my car in China. (How did I get that on the plane lol?) Having my vehicle enthusiast getting his relationship reset is more annoying to me though. I can swear this didn't use to happen but to be honest my sims rarely owned a car so I can't tell you precisely when it…
  • So far this expansion (World Adventures) has added more new produce, fish, and cooking recipes than any other, up to and including Showtime. Cooking recipes seems too small a feature to justify an entire expansion pack IMO; but I wouldn't object to a stuff pack centered around adding more recipes to cook, and more produce…
  • Can confirm that it's still not fixed as of now; my sim went to China, caught several fish (including 3 perfect koi) and they were all gone when he returned home. So an issue caused by Pets is still not fixed as of past the release of Showtime. Going to go check on that mod now. Am I the only one getting tired of…
  • The pool table and mechanical bull would almost have been enough for me lol. (And the game has nothing to do with Katy Perry except for her picture on the box, so if you're not a fan of Katy Perry, good news, she's not really in it anyway!) Er, search me, this has been the most skippable expansion since World Adventures…
  • Basically that, yep. It's also worth pointing out that there's no cost difference between the normal edition and the limited edition, so at least get the limited edition for the free additional venue. Notable by their absence in the Katy Perry collector's edition, is no sim that looks like Katy Perry, and no song by her.…
  • My sim, who was a teen, got a wish to go fishing before 6am. I thought there wouldn't be a problem since it was a Saturday anyway. But apparently this counts as breaking curfew; a cop caught him and dragged him back home. The funny thing is, his older sister grounded him (she was a young adult at the time)! I made his…
  • Not necessary. You just have to form a band, then you can go to city hall and register as being self-employed in a band (presuming you have both Ambitions and Late Night). To form a band, your sim must be: At least a young adult Have at least 1 point of skill in any instrument (guitar, drums, bass, or piano) Friends with…
  • No; to be self-employed in a band requires that you have both Ambitions and Late Night. (You can of course, independently make a living playing your guitar; you just won't get official recognition for being self-employed.)
  • Thanks, I found it, and eventually (about a sim week later) I finally got the first opportunity; to find a piece of palladium (which was actually pretty easy; one was sitting right outside the science lab lol...) BTW apparently it's not at all necessary to have the items BEFORE the opportunities ask you to get them. (You…
  • It's Bridgeport that's giving the problem, not your sim's age. There's a bug that prevents you from being able to get the simbot opportunity in Bridgeport. If you go to modthesims.com there's a 3rd party package that fixes that. As far as I know the only prerequisite for getting the opportunity is to have 10 inventing…
  • As far as I know you can only have body hair on male sims that are young adult or older. Body hair was added in Generations, but it was patched in so you can get it even if you don't have Generations. Can't get it on teens though; not til young adult. There is no compatibility issues with Pets at all that I know of.
  • Yes; in order to do laundry on your home lot, you need at least one laundry hamper, a washer, and a dryer. It doesn't matter if you get these from Ambitions, Town Life stuff pack, or the online store; they'll work just fine (you can only get a clothesline from Ambitions though. Clothesline is just an optional alternative…

  • Prom I think happens about every 14 sims days; depending on your lifespan setting a teen might even miss prom entirely if you have unlucky timing. I usually play on long and actually had the prom happen TWICE during my sim's teen years lol... she just skipped it the second time (she was due to max out inventing so thought…
  • No special creatures?! How about ghosts, mummies, simbots, vampires, imaginary friends, unicorns, and genies. Every expansion has added one. There's not as many as Sims 2 had YET but give them time lol... maybe in future expansions they'll give us aliens, plantsims, werewolves, and zombies, who knows?
  • Sometimes it takes a day or two after they age from teen to young adult for the graduation to pop up. You send the new young adult to city hall and the family should go there too if you tell them (my graduating sim's brother, who was still a teen, even got the day off of school to attend! The graduate's imaginary friend…
  • I made mine real and was interesting enough to have around for a while but eventually got tired of it hanging around, so I had her move out. She's still alive out there somewhere; even bought her a nice studio apartment. You could just never take it out of the inventory, ever, and it will forever stay just a toy. Or never…
  • OK basically two options for bringing your imaginary friend to life: 1. You'll get an opportunity shortly after your imaginary friend becomes animate (assuming your sim played with it a lot as a toddler, almost immediately after the sim ages up to a child and you remove the toy from the inventory and set it on the floor…
  • It's not so much an issue that teens can't ask for a day off, as you can't get a day off from part time jobs, the only jobs teens can work. Er, guess it comes out the same either way but the issue is with part time jobs, not teens. I've never had my teens work part time jobs anyway; I never saw the point. Even if the…
  • Shouldn't be a problem; I did. When launching the game though you need to use the disc for the most recent expansion or stuff pack you own, so assuming you don't have Showtime you'd still launch the game with the Pets disc after Generations is installed. (Don't forget to register; there's a couple of neat free things you…
