You think I made up those definitions? :/ Perhaps you've heard of something called a "dictionary"? dictionary noun a book or electronic resource that lists the words of a language (typically in alphabetical order) and gives their meaning, or gives the equivalent words in a different language, often also providing…
How is it a double standard? hater: noun a person who greatly dislikes a specified person or thing. sheep: noun a person who is too easily influenced or led. People hate Sims 4. These people are haters. Why do you think hater is being used as a pejorative here? Calling someone a sheep is a pejorative. It's implying that…
What I don't understand is some of these people have been at it for months, possibly even year(s?) if they've been complaining since the Sims 4 was originally confirmed. How much do these people need to make their dissatisfaction for a game they don't even own known?
Yup, that's exactly what I've been saying :p Expecting a Sims game to be as popular as blockbuster games today is just not going to happen. Sims appeals to a very select kind of gamer, it's just the nature of the genre.
No, it proves the Sims franchise has always had a niche market. Well obviously they weren't selling 1 million copies every day. I just checked it out though and GTA 5 sold 11+ million copies within the first 24 hours.
My whole point throughout this is that Sims games haven't historically been as popular as games we are seeing today. So expecting Sims 4 to sell as much as some of the most popular games today is unrealistic. A single Sims base game has never sold 1 million plus copies in a single day. Hasn't the newest Grand Theft Auto…
Is that including expansion packs? Diablo 2 sold 4 million copies a little over a year after release. And again, none of that matters. Things have changed. I just listed games that sold 5 million plus copies in the first 24 hours. Has any Sims game ever done that?
Actually it's quite relevant because gaming has changed a lot over the years. Sims 1 supposedly being the most popular game at the time (I'm still not sure about this) means nothing in today's gaming. The Sims franchise has pretty much been as popular throughout its history. Look at the numbers being touted in this very…
I don't know about that. Even if that's true things have changed dramatically since then in terms of how many copies of a game sells. I'm doing nothing of the sort. Someone said 180k copies sold is a horrible sales figure for any game. I was just replying that if we are to take these numbers at face value, considering 180k…
No. 180k physical copies sold in US in 4 days is actually a very good number. No it's not blockbuster sales like Destiny or anything, but then again Sims games were never really that popular.
Pretty much the same for me. I don't think I bought any digital games 5 years ago. Now I can't remember the last time I bought a physical copy of a game...one of the earlier WoW expansion packs I'm sure.
Going by this site's methodology apparently Sims 4 actually did a lot better than Sims 3 if they don't include digital copies. I wouldn't put much faith in this site at all now though. I mean they weren't even in the ballpark when it came to Sims 3 figures.
That's a good idea. I just checked out their Sims 3 sales figures for the first week...327k copies sold. Although apparently that was only 4 days after release also so let's look at the end of week 2...490k copies sold after 11 days according to this site. This proves this site is highly inaccurate because we know for a…
Yes but it's not a fair comparison either because Sims 3 was released worldwide 2 days after the US release. Also again I'm sure this site only tracks physical sales, I don't think it would have any way of knowing digital sales since I doubt Amazon or EA releases their digital figures. Unless this site just totally fudges…
For the first 4 days of US release, only 2 days of Europe release and apparently 1 day of UK release. Sims 3 meanwhile released on June 2nd in US and worldwide 2 days later. You people really need to know the facts before arriving at your conclusions.
