Agreed. I added this against the wall because it's at the science lab and I wanted my sims to get the quickest, most efficient rest. Otherwise, if it was a house, I would have used a single bed for aesthetic purposes.

In the code it might be decided at birth -- not sure -- but you can influence it in the third trimester without cheating: 1. To have a boy: Eat carrots and listen to alternative music. 2. To have a girl: Eat strawberries and listen to pop music.
Nope. I could care less what my sims look like. I stick with the default styles because I really don't see how they look impacts the game. I have never used CAS except for the very first sim when I installed the game, and it was simply the default style. Why spend the time when it doesn't impact anything?
The Butler in TS4 is FANTASTIC! Just treat him/her like a real sim -- don't let your vampire take advantage of its neck, and don't do anything weird. If you have a garden, the Butler is phenomenal and will make you lots of simoleans.
I had the same problem. She kept quitting after my vampire suck on her neck too many times. Even a good relationship wouldn't repair that damage.
