  • Well, I know what my next sim will do with their spare time! That is awesome!
  • I avoid that trait now after one of my sims with that trait slipped on the treadmill and somehow went from energized to death by laughing by the time I noticed what was happening.
  • I wish Target hadn't failed in Canada. I liked them!
  • These death notices are getting predictably worse. I started a fresh game for Seasons with a sim in the body builder career. The daily task is to mentor people while they work out. He spends a lot of free time at the gym mentoring, and mentoring progresses the friendship bar pretty quickly. Now, this sim is halfway through…
  • Even worse if the bed is in use for other purposes. Here I was thinking having the cat or dog watching was bad.
  • The way I see it, there's *always* going to be something broken in the game, because there are always things being added. They get patched eventually, but by then something else has broken. If you don't mind running a couple mods, you can overcome most bugs before they are officially fixed and remove the mod workarounds…
  • You mentioned before that you run your game with mods. Any chance you could give us a list of what mods you are running? You have more deaths than most posters, and certainly more than players on vanilla, so it really does seem mod related to me. The emotion related deaths I have only seen myself when running certain mods…
  • Do they ever leave? Harvest day is long over and the appeased gnomes are still in my living room, dropping seed packets everywhere every 30 minutes or so. It's been at least 3 days in-game now... Update: I now notice I seem to own them as possessions... Well that problem is easily solved!
  • If you don't mind mods, LittleMsSam has a mod called "Obsessed Pet Pet Fix". Description is as follows, "Since the Seasons Patch Pets are initiating Petting of Sims which makes Sims obsessed with petting them over and over again. This hopefully stops them." You'll find it at http://littlemssam.de/random-bug-fixes/ - it's…
  • Yes we're definitely on the same page. I don't want a knee jerk reaction nerfing the possibility of *ever* seeing a weather related death. I just want them to stop the massacres caused by the seemingly endless push to go witness a death in conditions that will kill them. I can't recall seeing anything but old age related…
  • I still think there's a chance of it happening in vanilla. I think it's random bad luck for a sim that is jogging when a blizzard kicks in so they are caught in their athletic wear, and then they start slipping nonstop and stopping to do pushups or shovel snow, hahaha. Mods just probably exacerbate things. If the mod…
  • You might be in for an interesting winter if that lag persists!
  • That's my guess too. I saw it with all mods enabled, but couldn't see it in vanilla or with only a couple mods enabled for testing. Could just be mod overhead making it take extra cycles to make the unplayed sim take the next action which would have saved them from freezing.
  • Good idea. This was just some random aquaintance so it hurt to have a 2 day mourning debuff =( I am guessing someone will mod it out eventually. Makes me avoid introducing myself to elders now haha!
  • This whole notification of death by phone thing.. that gives a 2 day mourning moodlet. Is this actually intentional? Won't sims with lots of friends pretty much spend their whole sim lives in a constant state of grief?
  • Nice! Have you managed to submit any saves to the guru looking for them? Your saves would be perfect! @mcrudd Good testing! Yes, I let the sims do what they want when testing for freezing problems. It's almost too easy if you deliberately chat them up and keep them in the cold =)
  • I was just thinking about adding Festivus! Great implementation and great pics, haha! Just need the Pole as a decoration and 'Miracles' LOL. I can't believe they added 'air grievances' in haha! I love it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus
  • The sims and houses from the trailers and box art are usually uploaded by MaxisCreator_01 in the Gallery. You can search for that user ingame or this url will search in your web browser:…
  • Oh that is a nice one. Hopefully if it's a Maxis_Creator creation it will be posted.
  • @KatzMeowz are you still reading this thread? You seem to have this problem in a big way and stated you have never installed any mods. Your saves could be useful to the guru asking for submissions. @Tanja1986 if you are playing a vanilla game your saves would likewise be helpful!
  • The problem is the simgurus need submissions from pure *vanilla* games. By "pure" I mean remembering to delete localthumbscache.package when removing or changing *any* mods, a step people OFTEN skip. Source: https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-cache-files/) None of the photos of many frozen sims provided seem to…
  • It might just be rare enough that most games/players will never see it. If you save often and keep your eye on unplayed sims in blizzard conditions you will likely never lose anybody.
  • I've now run a pure vanilla (removed mod folder, deleted localthumbcache.package before starting to make sure the game is pure vanilla), a pure vanilla with Have Some Personality Please only, and MCC only for a 7 day winter. Result? Nobody froze. It happens, you want to replicate and nail down a problem and you can't make…
  • Double post because threads were merged. Would delete if I could.
  • That's perfect, that save might be useful to the simguru that was asking for vanilla submissions!
  • I guess it will be hard to balance. Either this sort of thing happens or nobody ever dies, making weather effects kind of pointless. I don't mind the odd sim having bad luck and kicking off, I just don't like the chain reaction of all the other sims rushing to witness the death and dying themselves.
  • Your save would be especially helpful to the SimGuru that was asking for them. If we are lucky you have a save right before all the freezing happened they could look at. My vanilla save gave me no joy after 6 days of having my deadbeat sim hang around the gym in a 7 day winter. Might still just be plain luck.
  • I started a vanilla save (removed the mod folder entirely and deleted localthumbcache.package to make sure it was really a clean trial). I hung out at the gym and at my house for 6 days of a 7 day winter and while there were near misses, nobody actually died. The closest calls I saw this run were blue joggers booking it…
  • Visually I give Seasons a 10/10 for sure. Great job art dept!
