  • Okay I am sure this has been covered somewhere in the previous pages, but is there a basic run down of just how different or similar the titles are between console versions and PC versions? Is the PS4 versions, for example, exactly the same as the PC version with the exception of control method? Or are the games more like…
  • Well that's fine and dandy, now if you wish to discuss this further we can go to a PM, otherwise we can leave this topic to it's original purpose.
  • Well excuse me @igazor for sharing my experience with actual experimentation. All you did was say "No it won't run" I proved it isn't worth the effort, but it does "run."
  • I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to add some information to this thread instead of leaving it with "It won't work." Because it definitely does. The Storage part is not an issue with a 128 GB SD card added in. That said, the performance is sub par, running at the lowest settings it is still choppy. I will note…
  • Don't worry about it, you're not missing much. lets just say that the NDS version has more to it than the mobile edition does. That said there are a lot of devices that it is "incompatible with." Even some that you would think would work just fine. For example it will work on an Asus Memo Pad 7 (2014) but won't run on a…
  • question, Disc based or Digital Download? because recently there was a windows 10 related update that killed security things such as securom and safedisc, (commonly used on disc versions) which basically rendered a disc based game completely useless on windows 10... could be related.
  • The only concern I would have with such a thing is with a 10% discount, it would be around $540 US. The Discount would have to be deeper than that for most people to bite. Bring it down to the base game price and lets see it happen, but they have yet to release (for more than a month mind you) the Sims 2 in such a format.…
  • > @TadOlson said: > I've got Windows 7 and intend to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate which will still run my games and offer XP Mode for older games.I don't want Windows 10 and even hide the icon. The XP mode you speak of is not intended for Games, it's intended for productivity programs.
  • To those that do not plan to upgrade. I can understand where you are coming from. but the reason Microsoft is trying to get everyone on the same version is because having so many versions to deal with causes problems for developers. Imagine how much trouble a Developer who is making a game for Windows has to go through to…
  • I can't stand freeplay because of the real time aspect of the game, and I can't stand sims 3 on IOS/android because it's not even on par with the DS version of the game. So yeah The sims is out of the question for me on IOS/Android. Either the real deal or the console version only for me then.
  • I would say that it has to do with the amount of content in sims 3 but... that was said about 2 when 3 was lauched. but 3 was better then game engine wise. and with time it got what sims 2 had.
  • How odd, I was able to play TS3 with most of the expansions with just an ATI Radeon 3200HD on a 1366x768 display with 28-30 FPS. With everything on max. the only dip points below that where when something caught fire in the game. Then it would go to 1-2 FPS. :p the laptop in question was a Toshiba Satellite T135D.
  • One thing that you could look into if you are on a bit of a budget is the AMD A series APU's. Windows 7 is what I recommend but I've ran it on less. (windows XP on an older desktop with a P4 XD) The AMD APU will give you up to a quad core processor with Radeon graphics all in one chip. I would look for an A8 or A10 and an…
  • First of all I would avoid a celeron processor like the plague. As for the AMD e series, I have no experience with them but here is my experience with running it on a laptop. I was able to run sims 3 with a 1.6 ghz AMD Turion X2 with 4 gb of ram and a Radeon 3200 HD Mobility. the startup was slow but the game ran fine…

I see so many new faces in this thread - is there somebody who knows of a linux distro that can deal with the new intel/nvidia switching? I tried most and it just doesn't work. What you are talking about I believe is…
  • > @dancingindior said: > Nope! No Mac installer with this one, and no idea when it'll be released! It's a joke! Well that's sad. Now I guess the bigger question is why would people be doing this boot camp thing on TS3 as well when it did have mac installers... Also on that note I vaguely wish they would do linux…
  • out of curiosity, doesn't the new Sims games since sims 3 have mac installers already? I mean no porting needed just drop in and play. To what ends does using boot camp (with a windows OS installed) do that a native installer doesn't? pardon my ignorance if there isn't a mac installer on TS4, Just asking.
  • One thing that might help is not installing the game to the program files directory, try changing the install directory to someplace within C:/user/*insert user name*/ Sims 1 has a weird way of saving the game that windows XP and up tend to balk at, XP will deal with it, Vista and up however tend freak out wanting the…

  • > @Zolt65 said: > > That is exactly what it felt like! Oh well I guess us with our non touch screen desktops are a dying breed... might be time to cobble together a touch screen to better control our games and what not. [/sarcasm] also is it me or is my quoting not working right...

  • [quote]@ladybreid wrote: I think part of the problem with comparing TS1 to TS4 is that ts1 was truly innovative there isn't a lot of innovativeness in ts4 and what is there is overshadowed by the removal of basic things. You need the innovative to be more than or at least equal to what's been removed and sadly that isn't…
  • My suggestion is to select a better video card as the previous posted said. Though the processor is overkill. You can take a drop on the processor if you feel like. Another suggestion is to build a computer with the same or similar parts. It's not hard and will actually save you some money in the long run. It will also…
  • I should have read the whole posting about the console/portable versions... but my problem is... this is EA we are talking about... they always find some way to mess up the console ports... Edit: a quick note... flash sites really bog my computer down something fierce...
  • e_e page stretchers...
  • hopefully there isn't a need for achievements to unlock new items... like the very early ones... Edit: Or even worse... tease us with good console versions... but slap us in the face with bad portable versions...
  • So then I take it nobody actually cares... and that everyone on here loves those console versions... I guess I just wasted my time posting this then.
