Hello again! I keep trying to make the lot I claimed but I keep getting sick and generally having life interfering. If someone else wants to take that lot, they are welcome to. Sorry about this. I'm looking forward to the world being full!
Just checking in - I've been sick but I will still be completing my claimed lot! Just probably not claiming another right away. (I'm fine just a bad flu that knocked me out and made me too tired/cranky to mess with building anything.)
The Sims seriously needs large clunky cell phones (the Zach Morris phone!), pagers, and payphones. Skateboards, magazines like in Sims 1 (sims 2?), scrunchy socks that match our shirts...okay I'll stop, but that would be a lot of fun. I feel like they'd need some designers who are a good bit older or are at least better…
Is it the awful EA app? I've been using Lazy Duchess's launcher patch instead so the game thinks I am using Origin (offline) and I don't have to switch. At least until I can buy the discs I still need or there's a very good Steam sale on all the packs. That EA app seems to only work for some people!
Can I claim #12 / 30 x 20 / Residential / 12 Starfish Lane ? Also, can we make Sims to go with these houses or will there be more guidelines about this? Thanks!
90s Sims would be kind of fun, but I'd like all of these except Star Wars (top picks: Classical, space, 90s). I'd really love a Sims Castaway sort of spin off as well. I'd hate for real life people or current fictional people to be in the game, like they had in Sims 1, no matter the setting. Also, Sims 4 is a bit…
My sim was practicing breaking boards (martial arts) with her mom watching. When she successfully broke 5 foam boards, her mom gave a little applause for her! That was so cute!
This looks SO good for building. I have some slight reservations, like about emotions and the use of actual English by the characters, but this really does look like a game that might combine the best of 1, 2, 3, & 4. (Also, I feel the character yelling at the fridge in the traits video from a couple weeks ago. )
I can confirm that these colors are pretty accurate! Though we do have the occasional bright blue, red, pink, or purple (or just completely weird combinations of colors) houses around, especially in the more artsy towns!
Are you on your phone or on a computer/laptop? I assume from your username you're in the US, so it's shift and the number 2 key on US keyboard. This might be different on a phone.
Do you mean like a barn roof? There's some good guidelines on Carl's Sims 3 site https://carls-sims-3-guide.com/buildedit/houses/roofs/techniques.php. Roofs are a bit fiddly to get the hang of - I turn off auto roofs and do a lot of tiny adjusting with the angles. I hope your day gets better!
It's funny you say that, as the first thing I often do when moving into a custom house is delete all the huge floor plants. :) I like the idea of using ceiling tiles on the floor and I'll have to try that next time! And thank you, @Sandraelle @Hidehi ! That laundromat is the one I wish I had locally, instead of the…
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I bought some of the earlier expansions, but this one seemed actually mean spirited on the part of EA. I'm not sure trolling your customers is a great idea.
Thanks! I based it on the main shopping area in a nearby town - repurposed, renovated older buildings. I tried not to add TOO much detail as people often complain about Simmer builds being too laggy. I hope it's not too plain. (So weird that the insides look empty when you take pics)
#45 is done! I tried to not use TOO much store stuff, but I did end up using a bit. Salon, tattoo parlor, laundry, left to right. https://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=9566006
Thanks for getting back! I'm working on the commercial lot and will hopefully also do a more modern residential lot as well. I was driving to work yesterday, seeing ALL the houses I could recreate in this town. :D
I prefer Sims 3 holidays, since the festival lots are open all season, but I do like the Sims 4 calendar system with the ability to add holidays (one of the only things I actually like more in Sims 4, though the actual holidays are a little meh). I put up the decorations of my own background's holidays in my sims houses…
I have no desire to predict the Sim future, but that one interview with Lyndsey did seem like they were trying to set expectations as low as possible so the reaction won't be like that to Sims 4's lack of everything at launch. For myself, though I was interested in seeing where they were going with the experience gained…
Thanks! I haven't picked out a lot, since I wasn't sure it would be okay. I suppose it would make a cool farm on one of the rural lots. However, I can do a more modern lot as well, because I just love New Englandy coastal homes/buildings. I'll pick out a lot for a "normal" building lot as well. Okay, I'd like to start with…
As a New Englander, I am psyched about this! Should we stick to a certain era (I was noodling around with some Rhode Island stone enders -17th century - but those might clash if we're going for more of a 19th-20th century style. I'm flexible.)
Yes, I do wonder if the inclusion of 90s tv/music stars in the Sims 1 might stop a remaster. I don't remember if Sims 2 had that? I don't think so?). Sims 3 doesn't necessarily need a remaster (though maybe, those skins are pretty rough), but it could use a (real) update for 64 bit on PC (and probably for whatever the…
Since my teen sim graduated and took a trip to China, I sent her moms to the resort in town for a few days as a treat. When I checked back on them, one mom had gotten juiced and fell asleep sick, the other drank coffee all night and was still up at 3 am. I guess they needed to unwind! The pets were clearly tired after all…
A lot of game studios support and/or release remasters of their old games (You can still get old Elder Scrolls games, there were just remasters of Resident Evil, WOW had the classic servers, etc) because they know people still play them. I would love to see EA do this (and not just that apparently awful 64 bit Mac version…
Anyone who isn't new to gaming or completely gullible knows that a free game is never free. I'm not too psyched about the character art style either, but I do like the handling of skin tones and hair, so maybe I will come around. Or it will change completely by launch even?
