I do really love Sims 3 highrises, hearing the neighbors' music through the walls/floor, the Sims 1 music in the elevators. Sims 2 apartments were just better though. Just more fun and customizable.
Basically, me too. Well, at least Sims 3 gameplay (all of it, with bugs fixed) with some fun stuff from Sims 2 (OFB, hobbies) and the couple of things that work in Sims 4 (holidays, toddlers being a bit more interactive). No "emotions", please.
The only thing that makes sense to me is something like Stardew Valley multiplayer mode, so I guess #1. An agreed group of folks living on one lot or in one world, working together on a challenge or just open ended play. #3 makes me laugh though, because I was just watching videos and I absolutely love the way Sims "jump"…
I'm looking forward to my Xmas break, so I can just have a whole chunk of time to explore through the haunted mansion, play the renovacy (maybe not even cheating for once!), and see what's up with this witch cottage. :D
How about standard 2021 men's clothing for any country or ethnicity in the base game? It doesn't have to be all American-centric, but the haute couture stuff is just unflattering, to me.
I was having some trouble getting these new lots to download but I finally got it sorted out, so now I have a save game with (almost) all these new lots in it. I'll have some pics tomorrow but I just want to mention that Rose Bud immediately disrobed and jumped into the sprinkler. And the University llama came by and was…
@Kesminlix Dragon's Roost looks like it should be in Skyrim (or Dragon Valley, of course). What a great medieval/fantasy feel and very cozy. @MiaSkywalker All those ghosts! I can imagine them all floating around Gracey Manor (maybe doing laundry). Hopefully scaring some cowardly Sims as well. @puzzlezaddict Your first…
I love that you've gone hard on the New England thing. I love this Cape Cod and I especially love the bookcase filled bedroom (I'm a librarian IRL so, I have a few books around!). I've never read the Bosch books, but I am a mystery and noir fan. I played a Hester & William Monk playthrough back when I first got…
Yay! I love little shops for my town! I think this would fit into a lot of towns (and I replace so many lots in EA towns when/if I play them). Thank you, this is so cute!
I looked at tutorials online and I could get a garage attached, I couldn't get cars to go in. I definitely still have trouble with CFE for interiors. I think I'll try using a box as well, instead of trying it on some more complex blueprint. I love seeing how people accomplish this stuff, even if I can't quite get it…
Thanks! And yes, I can't deny I'm going to play my own Stardew Valley challenge, I think. @MiaSkywalker That's a beautiful haunted mansion. I admit I always read Gracey's name as Gracie Mansion (the mayor of NYC's house). I'm also now fascinated that we have a real ghost hunter among us. I imagine this build will…
He's still part of the family. I made a parent for the kids and then moved them out. It was funny though. The minute I moved them in, he went and took a shower and then started cleaning and tending animals.
@Hidehi Wow, that is a gorgeous house (and sim!). Thank you! I especially love the roof, because that's always a struggle for me. And England-y houses are always so cute with the thatched roofs. And of course, all the purple. Rose looks like a potential wife for my current game, too! You're all so good at pictures!…
@Kesminlix You were my buddy! You said you loved farmhouses with porches so I made a nice old New England farmhouse with a porch, farming space, cows, and a shed for your horse! I based it quite a bit on Massachusetts farmhouses from the 19th century but I did give it a Rhode Island-y stone wall/fence because they are…
Haha, yeah, I'm kind of attached to working from home now myself, though I live alone, so I only have to hear myself talk. :D The motivation to build has been a nice distraction, too.
This has always weirded me out. They had Drew Carey & Christina Aguilera in Sims 1 (The young folks are asking "Who?" :D ). Real people in Sims is still a bit creepy to me. A little uncanny valley, a little intrusive, I guess? I do often play my simself, albeit as an astronaut or witch or something, not boring actual me,…
I just went back and played some Sims 4 and the thing that frustrated me the most (other than my sim dogs not being able to use elevators) was the constant sickness with no way to turn it off. It's been an exhausting couple of years, let us turn sickness off for our active family (and pets). I like the random bad stuff…
I recently tried to play the Sim4 again, just for a break from building, and wow was it frustrating. At least my Sims 3 dog knows how to use the elevator. Welcome back to Sims 3! In my current Sims 3 game my Sim decided to get all the university degrees but is also taking breaks to pursue her dream of an art…
I used to play with 28 days, but have been trying 14 days. It feels very short and I might change it back. I play with very long lives and I don't really play generationally. I age Sims up when I get bored of children and just as often don't have children or keep playing the parents after children grow up and leave. I just…
I like to watch "good house" movies, like old Hollywood classics or BBC historical movies, when I need inspiration. Depends on what you're trying to make. Sometimes those houseplan websites are all the same old boring pictures.
Is there a build world you suggest? I know I had one a while back but I don't seem to have one anymore. I do like to have a world to build in, if it's for that world, so the colors look right, but a place to start on a flat lot with less lag would be great.
I'm getting there on my gift (lots of saving this time! The world I'm building in seems to get laggy way quicker than my usual). We got a whole extra day off from work next week so I'll be in good shape by the 28th. I also have about 8 million other ideas I might mess with. I hope everyone is doing well!
It is a great library, plays well, and I keep finding my (non-active) simparents in there, reading away. I put it where the film studio was in Storybrook County, but it would look great in any of the spooky towns or Bridgeport! There's a couple lots I like to put in every town and this will definitely be one!
