Oooh! I love it. Buuut, how did you do the rainbow colors behind the wall aquarium?

Thanks! Just some lights, set to various colors by the playtesting sim. :) I used a double wall in many areas throughout the property which allowed for effects like that, as well as setting up shrubs to look like ivy growing on the walls.

WOW! Truly breathtaking design! I love your design-ideas everywhere - the lights, the object-placing with MOO, and everything - I really cannot say a favourite area, because it's perfect in all details! :)

The Austere is really an ultra-modern masterpiece! VERY clever use of lighting and effects and just a really beautiful job all around. Looks very much like your inspiration shot, too.

Just wanted to post another pic that you might not really spend much time looking at in the course of the slideshow, but it's one of the side areas, and I really love the play of light and shadow and reflections on the water. It's private yet open (which I really like in real life):

Just thought I'd post a shot of another WIP I've got going:

It's my Forest Retreat (you can see the original on page 1), which I want to revise to eliminate custom content. With the new clearstory window and other content that has been released since I originally built the house, I think it will work out. How does the revision look so far?

That house is one of my favorite builds of all time so I am so glad you are re-creating without CC. I think it looks great so far!

The Austere is INCREDIBLE. I can really see the work that you put into this build. I can't wait to play it. Your build is very close to your inspiration picture and I love homes that have a realistic, authentic view. GREAT job! DRF!!!

Thank you so much for commenting on both homes, gokukaren. :) Glad you like the Austere, and as for the Forest Retreat, I think I've got the exterior on the right track now, so the rest should be relatively "easy." I'm thinking about doing the same type of revision to my Breezeway beach home too, but I really need to finish up my Lucky Palms build first. :P

The Austere has great architecture, your builds always have wonderful attention to detail and symmetry. Left a rec and will pop by your studio when the internet is being kinder. Folly

Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. I love the rainbow behind the aquarium... May I "steal" it for future use?? ^___^

Just another shot I'd like to highlight:

    upstairsbath1.jpg

In this build, I was going for a lot of silver and chrome to generate a lot of reflectivity. I love the way the bathroom fixtures pick up the turquoise from the floor. You'll find this effect in several areas of the home.

Thanks, Cera! I especially appreciate the Treehouse compliment; people didn't seem to like it as much as the others, but it's one of my favorite all-time builds. Thanks for the recs too! :)
