    my sims family got $85,000 out of the blue!!

    I was playing sims, the adults were sleeping, the kids playing, and suddenly, from out of nowhere, 85 thousand dollars is added to my sims money! they only had like 95 dollars before that. LOL. just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if anyone else knows whats going on?

      Nope, only time that happens, is when they hack or get Book royalties

      LOL im not complaining, im just wondering how it happened. was it a glitch, or could it possibly be something like a realitive died and he/she was the last living, so all her/his money came to my family?

      I've heard of this happening before. Someone else was complaining about getting 105,000 from nowhere.

      Complaining because they were playing a legacy challenge.

      It happened to me too. Not that much, can't remember the exact amount, but it was a lot of money. It was not from hacking or books, it just came to the acconunt with that "cashing" sound when money goes into the household account.

      I saw another thread about that too. Must be a glitch...

      Something like this happended to me too! My sim was sleeping and she just randomly got a new best friend!

      I've heard that is has something to do with buy/build mode.

      Still, very cool glitch.

      Sounds like you scored. Maybe it's the lottery equivalent of glitches :D

      That happened to me i got about the same amount, happened after the little pop up told me his mum had died. So I figured it was like TS2 when someone close died you got insurance money. I was happy though cuz i only had $1 left then kaching.!!

      No it wouldn't have been insurance as Sims 3 doesn't have that. However I believe thev seeds of the answer are contained in your post - your sims Mum died. Unless I am mistaken, as the closest living relative your sim inherited her "estate" (for want of a better word).

      Ive heard of that happening aswell. It hasnt happened to me,but I wouldnt complain if it did!! At least your sims arent poor anymore! (unless that was the point,in which case,that sucks!)

      Old thread, but it has happened to me.

      It happened a few days after I moved apartments in that Night Life zone.

      I thought maybe my previous apartment sold or something, but looks like this is a bug.

      This happened to me the other day too! My Sim brothers were having a barbecue at their house, and they suddenly got $85,000 for no reason whatsoever (that I could see). Weird!

      I just pretended they won the lottery and called it done :)

      I just got 35,000 randomly while I was playing a moment ago. I dont know why either, I am playing a rainbowcy so the money was unwanted.

      As far as I can remember that never happened to me. I got free items for being a celebrity but I never randomly got money.

      I wouldn't want that glitch to happen to me. If I'm not using cheats that messes my game up. Then it is no longer cheat free. If I'm willing to use cheats I'd just use motherlode if I wanted free money.

      Shame it doesn't happen in real life. I wouldn't mind having 85 grand randomly dropped into my account :) (and not get arrested for not declaring it had happened)

      This happened to me. My legacy family got 100,000 simoleans out of nowhere. I thought of it as a gift from above and bought them a new house (I don't like building a bigger house on the same lot). I didn't feel that guilty because I knew I didn't cheat and it was a glitch from the game.
