    Pets expansion pack.... new ideas

    i personally think EA should add pets to sims 3.

    although the new animals mustn't be stuff you would not keep in your house... like horses, chickens and ducks

    the new animals should be snakes, rabbits, parrots, hamsters, budgies, mice, frogs, turtles and silkworms

    please post your ideas :D


    animals should also be able to walk around town. imagine seeing a dog digging in a dustbin or a squirrel climbing up a tree. maybe even frogs and terrapins in the ponds.

      I'd be disappointed if they just remade the Pets expansions again, some of the ideas other people have had are a little more appealing where there are standard pets but also some other uses for animals such as farms (where they make produce) or contests (pit fight! :)). I've never really been a fan of the pets expansions, I'm just more interested in sim interactions than animal ones but if there was an expansion that managed to satisfy both I'd be a little more keen on it.

      Still, I'm hoping that the next expansion will be focussed on socialisation, this could include animals but I kind of hope it doesn't because I'd rather have a wide range of sim focussed options rather than a "half and half" expansion that doesn't quite make the most of either subject.

      I think they need to listen to our suggestions of farming with Sims 3 we bugged them for it with Sims 2 long enough. People who don't want pets, well don't buy, don't play it. Most people love animals.

      Well I think they should go all the way and make a lots of animals expansion! It could have farms, and dogs, and cats, and guinea pigs, and rainbow - colour fish! :mrgreen:

      Well, they are definitely putting in a pets expansion, they've had one for TS1 and TS2, if they didn't do it for TS3, they'd have an angry mob outside their door in SECONDS.

      But of course, I agree with everyone who wants farm animals and rabbits and squirrels and such. Just fish aren't the same...

      Oh, and by the way-- we DO have frogs in game already. XP

      Oh lands...pets...

      Unless they add more interactions and animals it would be a waste of time. I think it would be worth money if they had horses sims could ride or cows (even goats!) our sims could milk. Chickens our sims could raise for their eggs.

      Perhaps they could include snakes as pets. Or ferrets or turtles or even llamas. Maybe an ostrich or emu.

      And with dogs or cats or birds I think it would be fun to include them in competetions. Perhaps have them do obstacle coarses and win prizes.

      Maybe include a moodlet or two that improves a sims mood. After all, there have been studies that pet owners live longer lives. It would be nice to include this.

      I don't know...anything but the previous incarnations of "pets". They need to include more to make it worth peoples money.

      Being a major lover of farm animals and owning a farm myself. I would absolutely love it if my sims could have a farm WITH farm animals.

      And like the person above me said, just like on a real farm, useful farm animals. And bring back the canning.

      we have green thumbed traits now so they can harvest crops but it would be nice to have pigs, horses, cows so you can make your own farm, i have a farm in my game at moment but only statues for cows pigs and horses, would be nice to have the real thing in there rather then my sims going to view it they could feed them. house pets we want to i miss the cats and dogs, but we want bunnies etc to not just cats or dogs.

      Lots of different animals would be great but all I really want is cats and dogs. My sim families just don't seem right without them. Of course the more that's in an expansion, the better (and cuter) but aslong as we cats and dogs soon I will be happy.
      I'm not really interested in the farming idea as I think it would be like the gardening which I find just takes too much time but I would still like to have a cow or whatever just looking cute in the garden.

      If they did make a pets expansion, they could open up the sea, so that we could swim in the sea and catch dolphins to take home and put them in our pools, LOL. Also the creature could be Mermaids.

      I completely agree with you. And I had forgotten about the canning, that was fun!! I, too, live on a farm and really would love to have farm animals in Sims3. And fields we could plant/harvest with our John Deere tractors, sell the crops to make our living, milk the cows, gather the eggs from the chickens, the kids could have a stand out front to sell milk and eggs. And of course dogs and cats, rabbits, goats, etc.

      I miss Claire the Bear that used to rummage in the trash cans, and the little penguin in the winter from Seasons.

      Well I was probably thinking more along the lines of Cats, Dogs, Squirrels and other creatures doing Martial Arts type sparring matches :). That seems the sort of thing they might do for a Sims game without raising the ratings and would be quite good fun as well. They could do other types of contest of course, I just think that the process of training and preparing animals for competition could make a pets type expansion at least a little more appealing to those who are less interested in them for their looks (with all the suggestions people here have it's clear that a pets/animals expansion could be much more than just some creatures looking cute but having no real function).

      Sims Vet expansion " Dr Simlittle"!!! with a Vetinarian career all the Sims Pets in your neighbourhood being brought to your "Surgery". A Farming Career with animals that produce sellable items like milk and eggs!. Rideable Horses with an Equestrian Career. Police Dog Handlers for the Law Enforcement Career. Domestic and farm animals to suit us all would sell like hot cakes i am sure!
      Simming since the beginning! :)

      Why not animals like Cows, horse,ducks, etc.????

      As long as they allow us to customize our dogs down to each fur! I have a chihuahua-chesapeake bay retriever mix, with a honey colored head, brown back with white accents, and white stomach. She has the front legs of a bulldog/corgie and strong back legs that are like those of an average dog, and a semi-bushy tail. Never on any game have I been able to create her =p.

      LOL this isn't Pokemon but that would be a good idea! just as long as no animals get harm cuz then that's no fun to anyone

      Personally, I think Pets is in the future. How near in the future, no one knows.


      But they don't have data in the game about pets and weather for nothing.
      And there must be a reason for a dog in this pic on the shelf. And I'm sure lots of you have seen it before.

      I would really like a Pets expansion, they could do a much better job than with the last one. It would be good to include a wider variety of pets like others have suggested. I'd quite like - rabbits (indoor and outdoor), hamsters and guinea pigs that aren't locked in a tiny box cage (bigger cage and the option to let them out, this applies to the rabbits too, ie. free range house rabbits). Perhaps some exotic pets such as snakes, chinchillas perhaps?

      The wild animals idea sounds appealling too. Feral cats, birds, squirrels running around, wild rabbits, maybe some hedgehogs coming into the garden. Some peculiar animals roaming around could be quite funny and interesting too - like bears, foxes, deer, racoons?

      An animals expansion rather than pets. Breeding and/or pet showing perhaps? Could unlock new career paths.

      Edit - Just noticed someone mention the farm animals idea, it's a really good one. Ducks, pigs, cows, chickens. Making your own produce, butter, milk, eggs etc. A free range egg stand :)
