WOW!!..........what to choose, what to choose?!?!?!?! I kinda like all four ideas,.... would it be too much to make a community lot of all of them?????? LOL I can not wait till this expansion pack comes out!!!!
Ooh, I think thisll be the week I jump back in, although i won't have long to work on it. I do have one question though.
So, since last summer we got a new computer monitor that has different dimensions. I forgot exactly what they were, but they are much wider than the other one. So when I played sims again I changed the dimensions of the graphics of the game to fit the screen accordingly. Whenever I take a picture, though, it looks normal when I just view it under the computer files, but if I try to make a story (to show off a lot for example) the pictures look really squished, like it's squishing the wider pictures to fit the story's picture screen. Does anyone have some solutions for me?
Thanks!
Something about pictures blah blah blah...
Thanks!
Hi Scharry
post the pictures on a forum! Make a forum like I have, ande then you can resize the pictures to a scale version of what they come up as in the computer files. Just make sure on the forum the width of the picture is under 600.
Another option is to upload them to a site such as http://www.photobucket.com/
There you can make a slideshow of the pics, that's perfectly acceptable too
are there going to be different catagories for each type of lot. Such as there will be a begginer intermideate and advance for the fire station,
begginer intermideate and advance for the salon ect
or will it be just like normal :?:
Alexknr, thanks, I think I'm going to post pictures to the forums in the meanwhile, but I also kind of like to show off the pictures throughout the sims community in the stories.

Lot Name: Dr. Nick Riviera's Family Clinic
Lot address, size, and final cost:
58 Water Lily Lane, 30X40, $130,162
Details and Rational: There are some objects from the store, WA and High-End. Had to try to make each doctor's room unique as well as the lab. Thank you goes to Matt Groening for making the character Dr. Nick be the inspiration for this.
Credit to any simmers for custom content you used: I didn't use any.

I RLY like this idea! Very creative and original! I want in on it, but not making any promises tho! My internet is pretty lame some times which makes it hard to upload but I'll try it tho! Think I'll try the tattoo parlor. I'm going to kinda make a knock off of one in my area. Is that ok? Its called Omega Red, rly LOVE that place, with lots of cool people! Its in Ceader Falls Iowa! I plan to put my own twist on it tho!
I'm so glad people are enjoying this challenge! Everyone is probably as excited as I am about the new expansion. I am soooo looking forward to playing the game for once rather than just building!
scharry: To answer your question, you want to make sure you are taking screenshots with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Some 4:3 resolution settings would be 1600x1200 pixels or 1280x1024 pixels. With those settings, you won't get the black bands on top and bottom anymore in your stories. Hope that helps!
I wanted to enter last week's challenge, but was not able to because my game was not patched. But I will definitely give it a shot to this week's. Can't wait! It'll be my first entry
Just finnished my tattoo/pierceing studio! Looks a little like Omega Red, but not quite. The floor plan is similar but I added my own twists! I plan to list the changes that I made. Wish I could hve found some pics online to show the diffreces... Im going to attempt to upload it to the exchange and stuff in a sec! It's pretty modern in style so hope every one likes it!
Thanks Anjubee, I'll try that out tomorrow, hopefully it'll work!
By the way, what are these "optional challenges" I hear of? I read an entry where the optional challenge entered was a sim? Is this something new since the summer? And are judges still downloading the lots to look at them before they judge or are they going only by pictures?
Hehe, it's been awhile...

Lot address, size, and final cost: 1056 Cypress Lane, 40x30, $99,771
Details and Rational: I built the lot as a residential so that I could provide the "firemen" with as many home comforts as possible. There is some landscaping, but the majority of the yard just has trees (they'll be to busy fighting fires and rescuing cats from trees to play in the yard anyway!!)
For the Dr. Office, I kept it simple yet sweet....four exam rooms, a waiting area, his and her bathrooms, a lab/break room, and a receptionist office as well as a small doctors office.

Hope this will get to be my first BnS entry cause it turned out very nice! Goodnight simmers! xoxoxo

Hello Santiago
The 'Optional Challenges' are an element added by the author of the challenge. For Instance the main challenge may be to build a lot for a specific (Sim) client. The optional challenge would be to create that Sim. An example would be Challenge 41 where the idea was based on a Sim, Ms Lucky, who wanted a Day Care built. The optional challenge was to create Ms Lucky and some of her students.
It is also my understanding that since not all the judges have all the SPs and store items the entries are judges by pictures. This would preserve your vision of the lot creation and the judges can see your build just how you intended. Some challenges will allow CC but it is best to ask before using it. CC must also be listed on the entry form.
I hope this is helpful. Just join in the fun and have a good time. -EQ
hi i've finnished the lot and now im just uploading the pics but it take 4ever so while im doing that ill read harry potter and the deathly hallows pg. 152

Lot address, size, and final cost: 32x40, No lot address (it was on a new world that I created it), Unfurnished: $125,388, Furnished: $227,012
Details and Rational: Its actual name is the “Sims Salon”, but is most commonly known by its lot name. I decided to make this lot half salon and half spa like. Here you can get your hair cut and washed, have a manicure on your nails, get your makeup done, get a nice summer tan, have your eyebrows waxed (in the “Mybrows” room), buy a range of salon products, get a relaxing hot tub bath and even get a soothing back rub!
Credit to any simmers for custom content you used: TSR has all the custom content I used.
Lot address, size, and final cost: 10 Hidden Grove Ln. (Riverview); 30x40; $71,779.
Details and Rational: Objects and building supplies from Sims3, High-End Loft, and World Adventures, as well as some bought stuff from the Store. Two stories, not including a wall-height foundation. (and thanks to WaylonWriter's forum post in this Challenge, which I've looked at so I know what exactly to put in each of these things XD)

Hmm, sure!
You can choose one of those to put in as your optional challenge.
