Can I move my game folder on a scan disk?

I bought a new laptop on black Friday for Sims game g only since my current laptop is lagging. I already downloaded origin onto my new laptop, I just need to transfer my Electronic Arts folder over to my new laptop as it has my saves ( Currently playing the Sims 3 and I have The Sims 4). The only way I can do this is by putting my electronic art folder on to a scandisk and moving it over to my new laptop. Has anyone ever done this before? I want to make sure that I will not mess up any of my saves if I put them on to a scandisk.

I'm not sure what a scandisk is, but if its like a floppydisk/one of those sticks to backup stuff.
    It should work.

Yes, it’s perfectly fine to move your Electronic Arts folder onto a portable storage system (such as a flash drive). I do this regularly when creating backups of my save files. When you’ve finished re-installing the game on your new computer, an Electronic Arts folder will be created automatically, which you can simply delete and replace with your own.
