The Mom in my game was on her way downstairs when suddenly, she dropped, feet first, through the stairs! She's now standing in that curious space beneath the stairs. Problem is, if I have her leave the lot to return home again, which will free her, it will also drop the rabbit-hole her husband is in. He's currently releasing another album.
Why do our Sims just drop through the stairs like this? Please, EA, add this to the Laundry List!

Joey used to do that on nearly a regular basis. Made me start to wonder if my build was at fault.

On a PC gaming rig. There is no rhyme or reason for it. This is on the new side for me. Makes me doubt my builds, big time.

Really? I thought the Sim had to have the teleport ability! Thanks!

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with your gaming PC. I was just curious if you were on PC or console. It could be a weird glitch with the stairs you selected though. Maybe try a different staircase. This game has some weird bugs, it could be any number of things.
I'll give that a try, too, the next time one of them tries to 'hide' under the staircase. LOL I do have it on I use MCCC.

I had to do that in another lot. But that one was different in it's setup. It was a set of backstairs just off of what would have been a garage. It was also adjacent to the laundry room, which allowed a door placement. The staircase in this house is more or less one that descends in the middle of a large space (think Great Room). We can't place doors in that space that is basically the underside of the staircase. This one bends, so a door isn't allowed. I know because I once wanted to utilize that space as a small closet for storage. Too RL thinking of my part. LOL

I've been playing this house for quite awhile now. It's rather odd to me that suddenly, a Sim gets stuck underneath the stairs! I should think if it was the stairs (which by the way descend straight from the upstairs and then curve to the left to dump the Sim into the Great Room) I would have had this glitch since I started playing this lot. I'll wait and see if any other Sims find themselves getting stuck. If so, then I'll change out the stairs.

The Sim, is the one who got 'trapped'.
This shows, I hope, the limited amount of space we're working with:
She slipped through the floor of that landing. As you can see, it's not very tall. I don't believe anything larger than a dog-door would fit.
I once tried on a different lot, but a similar staircase style to better use the space. Doors are not always an option.
But I do thank you for the suggestion.

Nevermind, can't put a door under those stairs.
If you have testing cheats on, you can teleport.
Yes, they tend to slow way down and just scoot on their feet. That's when I know they're going to walk right through a wall! I really hate that!

Awesome! Thanks! (I've played this game for how long, and am just now learning this?)

You're welcome. There's a lot about this game I still don't know.
I don't think I have noticed that as much l lately, or I just don't notice it if they have. The day I discovered the "Teleport" cheat was a very happy day. Especially on the occasion that they have somehow ended up stuck under the stairs.
