I think I’m over the kits for now. I want to see kits that add new gameplay elements, not just shirts and flower pots and chairs. I don’t know why they stopped doing those or if they will ever do another after Bust the Dust.
I think it'd be cool to get a "trash" kit. Furniture that is just, bad. Couches with holes, beds that are actually just a mattress on the floor, terrible quality appliances, items with stains and visible damage, etc. Just generally cheap and tacky bad quality items that are the cheapest option in the game in their respective categories. It'd be really useful for things like rags to riches, so sims can really start with the worst of everything. We need more gross stuff in this game, everything is too happy valley

This could have some many possible uses, but I find it odd that some of the junky funtiture options already existing in the game are more expensive than you'd want or expect. The bare light bulb for example.

It'd be cool if they made a kit with that kind of stuff AND that added a junkyard lot type where we could go scrounge for stuff. Maybe it's weird, but I enjoyed doing that in TS3 when I did rags to riches type game starts. I know we have dumpster diving already in TS4, but a full blown junkyard would be even better.
A lot of people complaining about Kits lately. Which is cool...we all have opinions. But what Kits do provide is smaller, bite size packages of content that make it easy for people to buy, or not buy, only what they are interested in. I haven't bought half the kits, and have no plans to....but there ARE a few kits that I'd like to see.
Honestly, I think Maxis hasn't leveraged the potential of kits properly. They provide an opportunity to provide specific content that only specific people might want in an affordable package. I think Maxis is focused too much on the kits being style focused rather than category focused when there are some great opportunities for kits to fill in the "gaps" where categories in the game are just under-represented. Just mho.
Here's some Kits that I absolutely WOULD be interested in:
1. Toddler clothes - A kit that provides only clothes and, perhaps, hairstyles for toddlers. They are so under represented right now and CC options for them aren't all that broad either.
2. Children's Clothes - Same as above, but for Children.
3. Sleepwear - An entire kit of nothing but sleepwear! Seriously, we need more.
4. Accessories - Piercings, rings, bracelets and more. A kit with nothing but nice accessory items. Accessories is the category for which I have the most CC, so clearly the game without CC needs some love here.
What kits, not counting gameplay, would you actually like to see? I focused on categories I'd like to see represented with more content in a kit, but feel free to list your desired styles/themes if you have them.
I think all above are good choices. I would also like to see a kit with a witches had with no spider on it, a Dracula cape and some Goth clothes and hairs
Also it would be nice to have some nursery furniture. A changing table ( that functions as a dresser ), new bassinets, some baby clutter items, like a stack of diapers, baby cream, a clutter baby rattle, maybe bassinet that looks more like a crib, things to make a baby room look more like a baby room. Some of us have aging turned off and keep out babies awhile and don’t use CC.
I would still like to see actual niche content being offered, doesnt even have to be every kit but at least some of them.
Cause I still feel that they are playing it way too much on the save side with kit content, being to tame and normal for lack of better words.
Let alone the kits that seem like they should/could have been parts of existing packs.
Honestly most kits are simply boring to me in the sence that they are adding "more of the same" than something truely different and unique.
So I would still wish for them to get more creative and daring with what they put out, like I said, they could do a good mix of more "normal" kits and more "niche" kits...but it seems like they either dont really dare to or have no ideas.
I'd like a kit with more walk-styles and voices! We only have about six of each and they do a lot for the character of a Sim. Other than the vampire walk introduced in the vampire set, I don't think they've ever given us more of either!

I've been thinking about more walk styles, but I can't think of any other styles apart from maybe limping.
Those are great, but some are not really useable as everyday walk styles. Would be nice if sims could get the drunk walk style after they drink too much nectar though.
Sleepwear for all ages
Lingerie and swimwear
Retro kit, such as typewriter, landline phone, broom for sweeping up the dust
Skin kit, with tattoos, scars, bruises and cuts
Toddler skills toy kit
Matching baby, toddler and kid beds
New games for the card table, such as Simopoly, Cluedo, Scrabble, draughts
New buyable computer games and movies
A mega clutter kit, including an update to fit more existing items onto shelf slots
Junk kit for build mode, such as broken boards for over windows, damaged doors, smashed windows, weeds for the garden, graffiti, crumbling brickwork wallpaper, broken fences, tatty floorboards
Small telescope, with a few varieties
"I live where the air hurts my face in winter" CAS kit. There is not nearly enough cold weather clothing designed with serious winters in mind. I know Maxis is centered in southern California, so they apparently don't know/don't remember what real cold weather is.

I don't want just a kit for that, I want a whole gamepack which includes an actual world set in such a place. Mt. Komorebi might have winter sports, but it falls really short of capturing an environment that has real winter. Things like power outages caused by winter storms and school being canceled.
40s-80s esque kind of kits. More traditional masculine kits for men (and preferably fitting for feminine body sims too!). And clothes for kids + teens.
Also, although it's not the carnival we're likely to get, I want masks stuff, for kids too.
Skin details kit, anyone? I feel like there's not that many options for customizing Sims appearance. More freckles, scars, etc. Even more wrinkles. Sims just look too smooth and monotone at times.
Contemporary lighting kit - I find myself using the same lights all the time because our options are so limited. The floor lamp from Tiny Living is the style I want to see, love the drum shade but maybe do a metal base. I also want a more modern chandelier that is not candles and a version of the nelson pendant.
Decor - more vases, busts, and art books that I can place on a coffee table. Trays with keys and if they want to throw in a single gameplay item a one tile bar cart. Also want cups, bowls, and plates for the kitchen.
Arcade - 80's style smaller cabinets than that huge one from Get Together. A claw machine with prizes and then some build items like a new counter with a soda machine and stools.
Pool table - would have been perfect with Cottage Living btw. I really want them to add decor items like hanging pool sticks and a pool table pendant lamp Tiffany style.
Casino - slot machines, roulette, and some sort of cards.
Pizza oven - I want my rich sims to have the best outdoor kitchen and one that can work indoors.
Food processor, fryer - so I will not have to watch the food prep animations again.
Tattoo and Piercing Parlor - make it an active career

I should stop now, as I could go on for hours 😄

Fantastic Kit idea! I'd buy it in a heart beat.

If I had to think of a kit, hmm…
I would love more baby bassinets (especially for occults, but overall in general) and more baby clothing and nursery stuff in general.

Do mermaids have a special bassinet currently? Like a fish tank or something?

A fish tank full of cute little baby mermaids would be so cute.
