I learned about custom food and other mods on the forum here and I've had a lot of fun with CC lately, so I wanted to share my new favourite creators if anyone is interested. Who are your favourite creators? What type of CC do you like to download?
I will list their patreon accounts. One trick I discovered with patreon is that if you scroll to the bottom and click to see all the posts and then look at the top you can switch the "Tier" to public which will then only filter the posts that are unlocked, since most creators have both free and special content for their supporters.

A few names do stand out in terms of how much of their CC I have compared to others:
Ravasheen and Joolster for BB stuff
RenoraSims for clothing
Cripticsim for makeup
Madlin for shoes....I don't have any footwear CC that isn't hers.
For all other CC categories there aren't any standouts. Just a lot of different creators.

Great post Elliandre by the way. My favorite mens cc would be Darte 77 and Bellaoure (?). For women it's a few being Shake Products, Christoper 67(?) and Ebonix.
But for shoes besides Madlen, I also have almost every pair that DallasGirl79 has made.

It depends on the creator, some release all of their stuff for free and only ask you to donate if you want to. Others Have some that is free and others that is available only if you have donated to them. And still others have it set up such that you can get their new stuff "right away" if you are a supporter, but then eventually move it to be free-for-anyone after a period of time. Support (i.e. paying) is "per creator" in all cases.
As for donations, the way Patreon works is that it is a monthly fee for each creator. Once you have paid, you can download any thing you want that requires you to have become a supporter for that creator. So basically you do not have to actually pay every month, unless you want to continue getting anything new by that creator. Patreon will continue to charge you every month though, until you go in and "cancel" your support.
A creator can also set up tiers, such that some things are available to everyone who has paid, but other things are only available to people who have paid more, for a higher tier. There are only a handful of sim creators that I'm aware of who use tiers.

Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown ... that answers all my questions!
I download both alpha and maxis match, my folders are huge! Have so many "Well, I might use that some day" items. DallasGirl shoes are the best - work well with Alpha and MM plus their color palette range is so good, you will always find a match. I also love Jius-sims, their shoes remind me of Starlord who retired a while ago. His shoes are still at TSR, the Dior flats are iconic.
Gorilla 3x makes beautiful clothing for everyone and SiFix2 over at TSR has great outfits in particular evening wear. Kijiko lashes are my staple but the ones from Miiko are wonderful and a little more MM.
I can't wait to look up all these new creators. I guess I should have also asked what websites you go to for CC. I like simdomination and searching on patreon. TSR also had great stuff, but it was too slow for my computer for some reason.

There are also some Youtubers who like to showcase CC creators every month and link to their items. This way you get to see what they look like in game. Elliandra (almost same name as you!) does a lot of Maxis Match and is very relaxing to watch. Here's her best of 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY17oLKkg3U
My favorite MM hair creator is Birksche. She has a huge selection and has updated a bunch of her hairs here: https://birkschesoldstuff.wordpress.com/2021/08/04/updated-hairs-with-the-new-swatches/ just click on one and it will take you to the page with a picture of it and the download link.
I also have a few of the Sifix formalwear dresses.
Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, I’ve got many others!
When it comes to CC, usually I’ll google something like “sims 4 toddler dress” or “sims 4 curly hair” and check the Google Images results. I stick with MM hair. I mostly have hair and clothing, with one pair of CC glasses (which are just a recolour of some basegame glasses) and some CC freckles. I don’t have any custom makeup or skins or anything. Oh yeah and I have some custom BB stuff although not much.
I usually dress all townies and unplayed sims in game clothing instead of CC. That way, if I delete a CC item, I don’t have a town full of re-edits to do. It does save time, like you said.

Sage advice. This is gonna take me days to fix lol.
If you use MCCC, does running dresser to clean outfits automatically fix things like missing shoes?

I have no idea. I have this but I don't know how to use it honestly so I've been scared to click on anything. I just was using it to check if the pregnant Sims were having girl or boy babies so I could decorate a nursery. Do you know a good guide somewhere?
To run it on one sim, click them and then choose "MC Command Center"->"MC Dresser"->"Outfit Commands"->"Clean Outfits". I have no idea if it will correct issues related to removed CC or not; I'm just curious if it will. NRAAS Dresser for TS3 did, and it was the inspiration for MCCC.
I use cleaner pretty regularly on my played Sims when they end up with outfits in situations where they are supposed to be nude (like showering). It is safe to use.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will try it.
I have done this exact same thing, soooooo many times!
Now I only put CC on the sim I'm playing and then I open Sims 4 Tray importer to find the exact CC that is on that specific sim and place it in a folder with my sims's name, something like "Adria's CAS CC". Then when I know I'm going to be playing that sim, I just put that folder back into my mods folder.
I also only make over the townies with EA stuff, never CC for this very reason. I keep the CC wrench icon on my CC so when I'm doing any type of makeover, I can easily tell exactly what is CC and avoid it.
He is my favorite creator too, along with linzu and theJim, last one made historical furnitures, statues and pictures, he can be found on modthesims.
It's wise following some rules, or your cc folder will explode I have way too many cc items that I thought was a good idea to grab, but that I never really used. So with a certain lag, I decided to only download cc that will be used in minimum 5 households. If the file is big I also try to remove most swatches (in S4S, it's quite easy to do). Also, make sure to rename files that include special characters like []()'& and space. Such file names (at least used to) slow down your game. So many creators start the file name with "[" probably to list higher when sorted alphabetically. Ad so many use space in their file names when "-" would work better with the game.
In TS3 I had a household (the Detesters) working as test sims. Their job was to test all CC before it got installed, and also to find already installed CC that was no longer needed because EA added something similar with a later pack. How many bowls of fruit do we need
@Simmerville Thank you. I wasn't sure if I could safely rename the files. Some of them don't include the creator's name, so I wanted to add it, but I wasn't sure if it would mess up the file and create bugs or anything.
