    Asking Permission to Date Another Sim's Wife?

    The three Cantrell sons are dating the triplet Golden sisters. So, how odd is it that their father, Drake Golden, calls up Joseph Cantrell, Sr., to say he and Joseph's wife, Louise, were planning on spending some time together, asking for advice. :open_mouth: Well, they promised us weirder stories and I guess they are delivering on it. Of course, Joseph answered, he wouldn't do that if it were him. Subtly is an art, after all and Joseph is an Adjunct Professor. To think this is only my second phone call since this was instituted.

    What has been your experiences, so far?

      Yes that interaction prompts about a 20% green bar gain :) perhaps Joseph is a bit jealous and jumping to conclusions?

      It means spend time together as in becoming closer friends. It’s not romantic at all. As the above poster said it only increases the friendship bar.

      I think it was the way it was worded that bothered me. If he just wanted to get to know Louise better, why not include both spouses? The four of them could have a lot of camaraderie if their kids all get married to each other. Shared in laws, shared grandkids. No, it was something in the way the question was worded. And just why was Louise colluding with Drake?

      How can you tell which social is the romantic and which is the friendship one? Does it say they want to go in a date? I don’t think I’ve had a romantic social one pop up yet

      I hear you. Like I stated already there was something in the way it was worded that troubled me and led me to think it was more of a romantic suggestion. I could be entirely wrong, but that's how it hit me.

      Yeah, I think I got one from a friend that said "hook-up" or something and I said no to it because it was with my Sim's apartment landlord :joy: . I didn't want my Sim's friend hitting on the landlord during an apartment emergency. Wouldn't it be cool though if you could chat up the landlord and get free rent or bills reduced.

      It would be nice if they were color coded. Pink for romantic outcomes. Green for friendly ones.

      My phone calls have been pretty mild. Things like "Hey, should I hang out with Frank?"
      I say yes and then a couple days later, "Thanks, Frank is a cool guy."

      Yeah, this has been ok for me. Not that many calls, and the ones I get aren’t very aggressive. I’ve gotten a few “should I get to know X better” calls, which I usually answer yes. More connections between characters is always good. I got one “should we have a baby” call. I answered “no” to that one due to the already large size of this family. The caller thanked my sim for giving them a reality check. What can I say. She needed it. 😀

      My Teen Global Superstar was asked by a female Sim, (can't recall her name, let alone if she has kids, yet) if she should have a baby. Her partner and her were discussing it. Erik said sure. Her response was amusing. "Hm, err, okay, I guess we're having a baby." I came away wondering if Erik was suddenly the Baby Daddy? :open_mouth: LOL So far, it's been fun. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

      If their not friends it doesn't always get them to that level. Maxis needs to tweek that from 20% to 50%.

      I wish it did mean romantic. We need drama in the game.

      If you don't mind mods, there are two that come to mind. I do believe MCCC has such a provision, but I also know that SimRealist SNB & Banking mod allows for such. I use both mods, but so far nobody owes Child Support. I do have my Teen Global Superstar repay his father from his own account (yes, Sims in the household can open their own accounts) and he was able to send money to … It's quite handy, actually.

      @GalacticGal A banking mod sounds really fun. It would be cool if each Sim had their own bank account.

      I’m disappointed I’m not into the whole “playing god” or manipulation game. Can they do their own thing on their own without a phone call? I want sims to feel alive have them come over the house and hit on my partner or something, steal fruit out my garden..: something.

      No apparently they won't do stuff like that on their own atleast now but there is a 2nd update coming to SP next year so hopefully they will then.

      The next-best thing is using the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration as a tracker. It'll tell you how much they've earned (up to 200,000) in their lifetime, and I usually cut that in half when I move someone out (to simulate their share of the bills) and have them start with it.

      Sounds like just a friendship type request. Those are the only type of phone calls I get for that story progression. Then later they tell me it went great and they are a cool sim.

      A married man giving away some hints about his wife that this new friend uses to impress her during such a time together and enough to win her affection, before long this married mans wife is sleeping with this new male friend behind his back if they are careful about. this is after all TS4 and you playing this metaphysical being.

      That's the latest message I got, in fact. I'd like to hope Louise Cantrell helped a friend reset her marriage. :)
