    Bug, Maybe? Toddler Sent to Daycare During Family Outing

    I just had the strangest thing occur in my game. My Sim family took their six kids to Bramblewood park. Dad took the three Child Sims to fish, nearby, and Mom had all three Toddlers with her. I sent the Toddlers and the Mom to be near the rest of the family. Mom got there first, and all three Toddlers were on their way. The youngest Toddler was dragging a tad behind her two older brothers. Suddenly, I get a notice that she's been sent to Daycare. Say, what? This is a family Outing, which is rare for this family. Was it because she was straggling behind that she was 'sent'? Is the game now playing Big Brother? I didn't even have the chance to have her mother pick her up. She was gone that fast!

    Has this happened to anyone else? Please, and thank you, in advance.

      Not a bug or glitch, the same thing happened to me. I was going on an outing, and the whole family was supposed to come. The toddler didn't, and I go the same pop up. When the family returned, she was there.

      Eww, that's annoying - and sounds like a bug. My toddlers come with me each Saturday to the park, and they hardly ever have any direct supervision. They never get sent anywhere, at least so far. You keep things even more realistic in many ways than I do, so I'm sure your tots were pretty near their parents...mine sometimes have the whole park between them lol.

      I took the family to that park when the first three kids were all toddlers. They played in that circular maze thing and the tots didn't keep up, but none of them were suddenly 'sent' to Daycare. Weird.

      i have had that too. but the funniest thing that happened was when i sent my sim famlies to the toddler park when ts first came out. gracelynn decied to toddle home by herself. i guess she couldn't talk well enough to tell anyone.

      ETA: I am tryng to figure out why that would do anything to a daycare :D
      ETA: Figured it out! Todd wanted to see that, and it was live at tv at daycare!!

      Ha, glad someone else seems excited about that. I like your thinking - she wanted to watch the launch lol. Little Trekkie in training!

      I do a Save As every single gaming session. This allows me to roll back a save if something goes dramatically awry.

      I don't think it's a bug exactly, just an issue with how the daycare feature is implemented and timing. This is going to sound goofy, but this is basically what I think happens.
      When an adult leaves the lot the game sends out a message, "toddler is alone, go to daycare" automatically. When you choose child Sims to leave with your adult Sim, they don't actually go WITH them. The adult always goes first and the children go after.
      Sometimes the message "toddler is going too" gets through first. But I think sometimes in that second between the adult leaving and when the toddler is supposed to leave, the message "toddler is alone, go to daycare" gets through first.

      That actually sounds reasonable and may be just what happened. I do know I've taken the family, including the Toddlers out earlier in their Sim lives. There are now six kids in the family. The first outing there were only the first three.
