    Has Anyone Who Pre-Ordered Cottage Living Received Their Email Yet?

    It's my understanding that this EP is released today at 10 AM Pacific Daylight Savings Time, which would make it 11 AM Mountain Daylight Savings Time for me. So, I went into my game to hopefully find I had a download. No such thing. I checked my Order History and was surprised to learn I had to await an email telling me when I could download the game. Well, so far, the only email I've received is the one from Origin/EA thanking me for my pre-order. It is now forty plus minutes after 11 AM. So, I'm coming here to see if any one else who pre-ordered has received their email as to just when they can download the EP.

    Sitting here frustrated and wanting to play my game. So, I guess, if all else fails, since the one key mod I need to play my Main Save has been deemed compatible, I'll keep myself occupied. I just worked so very hard these past two days to get my ancestral game save ready to go. I will be starting a fresh game with these two families. But, still.

    Have you gotten your email and in what time zone are you?

      There was a global internet outage and EA was effected :( There are multiple threads about it now.

      :open_mouth: I guess when our president told Putin what sites he shouldn't hack, he left out the gaming industry. Face/palm. Well, that would explain a lot. Dang.

      :D The Gaming Industry is like the Wild West, not enough regulation (at least in the USA). EA's been having lots of problems with people hacking them.
      It sucks that this happened the day of the release of this pack :(

      Yes, I just finished the shell of a farm house I want to put in the new neighborhood. I am waiting to see the new stuff before I do the inside of the house and I was hoping to get started on that today. My Sims just finished their degrees at Uni and I am so excited to start training their teen boy for farm work and maybe even have mom stay home to run the farm even though she is a school administrator. I guess I will have to do that tomorrow. I may check it out this evening after my husband goes to work just to check out all of the new stuff and the neighborhood.

      Some players have suggested you restart Origin. Others said it took a computer restart. So far, I've gotten as far as the EP download ready, but when I click on that it takes me to the page but when I click on the download part nothing happens.

      I wish these low-life's Hacker types would get out of their mother's basement, shower, dress and find a REAL job instead of infringing on those of us who only wish to play our game. Not bothering a soul in doing so. Face/palm. End. of. Rant. For, now, that is.

      I was able to get in contackt with EA healp on twitter, they cancelled my pre-order and then I was able to purchase it again.

      I got the email at 945am EST saying thanks for the Pre-order will send email when ready to download. 2:28pm EST no e-mail but logged out and then logged back in to Origin and now there's a download bar for the expansion slowly filling up.

      Unfortunately, a lot of people can't afford that, so it's kind of a 🐸🐸🐸🐸 solution from EA's side... Really sucks to pre-order and get excited and then have to wait for your order to get canceled and refunded before you can buy it again :(

      Update: I just went round and round the Origin pages again, and it finally gave me a button for a download on the Cottage Living entry. Downloading now, thankfully.

      I've tried restarting Origin. Signing out of Origin and back in. Now about to restart my computer to see if that works. They took the money last night so I'm not about to do a 'refund' and repurchase it because that's ridiculous.

      I get the download arrow, but when I click on the first one, it just takes me to the play page. Underneath the play bar is yet another download arrow. This one does absolutely NOTHING. I put my other saves folder in and am currently playing the first rotation of my Main Save. Second baby has been born. I will now see if I can't download Cottage Living.

      UPDATE: I may have just solved the problem. For those of you who see the download arrow on your Sims4 cover in Origin, but find out the second download arrow on the Play page isn't working, look down. There is a More button. Scroll down until you find the new EP, if it says unlocked, click on download. It's currently doing its thing in my game. Yay!

      So is that why the new expansion world was showing up in my game this morning, but grayed out, and now isn't there at all?

      I’ve never had a download arrow. I always just have to wait until my game feels like updating Itself.

      I guess it’s back to getting the expansion pack after everybody else in the world (literally) already has theirs.

      After restarting my PC, I STILL don't have access to download it. I've tried the 'update game' function but it tells me it's up to date but Cottage Living is NOT installed. I even tried going offline on Origin and going online again. No go. We should be able to access the game we paid for. Refunds can take up to 10 days to go through (Usually they're much faster than that) and I'm not about to ask for a refund just to 'pre-order' the game again. I paid for it. I want to download it.

      Yes, I'm annoyed. LOL

      That's not working for me. There's no arrow under the expansion, though it shows it's unlocked. There's no download arrow on the cover in Origin, either.

      I haven’t gotten any emails. Origin says I own the pack, but my game says I don’t.

      Well, after all my whining, suddenly everything downloaded perfectly! I closed out Origin and restarted it, and then the download started automatically.

      UPDATE. I decided to start my game and play while waiting. When I opened the game, I got the pop up for the unlocked content (the pre-order items). It told me my 'uninstalled packs' were installing. Checked Origin and the expansion is installing. If people are having problems, try starting your game while logged into Origin?
