I would like the colour wheel back from TS3. Also I actually quite liked the romantic Reputation feature from TS3. One of my Sims was a rotten cheat and nobody would date him : p Would be cool to have that back in TS4, since I feel like romance in general in TS4 isn’t as in-depth as it was in previous games.
A lot of the little things with pets, sims, and occults.
Kids bathing pets. Pet jobs. Pet skills. Tricks for cats. Sims 2 pet agility. Pet info panels. Controllable pets. A bunch of small pets (lizards, birds, etc.). Horses. (Bonus, I want kids to be able to walk pets, too, even if it is a more 4 centric feature.)
Pretty well all the occult flavor from 1, 2, and 3. I want werewolves and fairies. 3's aliens. Supernatural essence potions. Alchemy skill. Dragon pets. (Bonus, a unique "trait"/"skill" system for spellcasters that allow for uniqueness beyond cosmetics like vampires.)
Teen flavor from 2 and 3 (need some unique events and advantages). Sim biographies. Elder flavor from 2 and 3. (Bonus, I'd like teens to be a proper middling stage meaning they still need to be able to do childish things like play with toys. Because they are still children and not yet YAs.)
Color wheel and CAW always, but those are give mes.
Besides the things mentioned (I miss those as well). More traits (don't see why they can use the ones from the past games). I miss seeing a couple cuddle with each other while they are sleeping, as in Sims 3. They also did it in Sims 2, but one sim would wake up first but they would not get out of bed, but instead would let their partner snuggle up next to them. I miss many of the previous romantic interactions that are not included, such as slow dancing with their partner. I miss the makeout sessions they did in Sims 2.
I’ve always played the sims games based off of what my sims want in life. The Sims 4 whim system is not anywhere near as good as what we had in the previous games, it’s broken for one and also the whims are to generic, they aren’t specific to personality and they aren’t detailed enough…
An example of what I mean is this. In the Sims 3 a sim will tell me specifically which career they would like to join. In the Sims 4 a sim will simply get a whim to find a job, it’s not specific and it doesn’t tell me which career my sim would like to join.
I want direction from the game and my sims as to what they want in life, it’s tiresome having to decide every little detail for them.
Pillow fights, playing tag, picnic blankets, treehouses, sculpting skill- I used to love sculpting ice sculptures in sims 3. I also really miss sims 2 open for business, I use the retail option in sims 4 but it’s not as fun. I want sims to queue behind the till and have shopping bags, I miss home businesses and being able to open a hair salon,

I really liked some of the occults in Sims 3, so Genies and Werewolves mainly.
If you played Sims 3: Supernatural you might remember those telephone booth teleported items. They were really cool too, but worked better with the more open world set up.
Newspapers, treehouses, sculpting, several of the harvestables (particularly peach and plum trees), toy ovens, strollers, TS2 style apartments, the romantic interactions others have mentioned, ballet from TS3 as well as the afterschool dance club, horses, wider availability of swimmable water, dive lots, the hot chocolate maker (the great thing was not just the extra recipes but that kids could use it), fairies, cars that could be fixed up, nectar making, dreaming, the ability to add extra lots to worlds.
Also, houseboats were a glitchy mess, but man, I loved them.

I forgot about the houseboats! They really were awesome! I guess mermaid Sims would have more places to do mermaidy stuff if they introduced a new world to allow this kind of thing too

The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017

I could go on and on, but need to head to work.
I need sims to fear for their things and toilets. I'd even be fine if they were added as lot challenges.
That and weddings to be expanded on as they are lack luster.

SLOW DANCING, in case they didn't hear us.
