August 5th- It's time for our Friday Highlights! You can check them out here!

Snowy World in Progress! (Name Coming Soon)

Well this is my first world that I haven't failed!! I'm very excited about showing a preview. Suggestion would be nice, even though it is not done, and the first world I've done, so it's not the greatest.

Overview of the whole town
eventually will be a busy street
I called this Schweitzer Complex. Includes (and will include) the stadium, a plaza, an archway, a swimming complex, and a gym
Another overview of the town, in the bottom right hand corner is where "Old Town" is going to be, which is basically apartment like buildings with a swimming pool in the back.

I have all my lots set I just have to build on them!

    OMG YES!!

Its excellent, anyone would think you was an actual EA Game Creator,
Maybe though... You could make a custom road thats partly white? so it looks like snow. Same with paths xD

And, when you do a pond, dont forget to make it look dead icy to blend in with the snow xD

    Excellent work.

Thanks both of you, it's definitely not to my liking but it's ok for now.

@C, I actually tried using a custom road that looked a little "snowy" but it looked rather odd. It was all transparent and glitchy. I also tried the regular dirt road and it was also transparent. Obviously it didn't like my snow texture XD. But maybe when I'm done I'll try and replace the roads with a more "snowy" feel

Thanks for being honest syrax! I also agree the snow is a little too white, but thats only during the day (it actually looks cool at night). I might add some dark grass in the valley area to balance the absurd amount of reflection off the snow you get at noon.

Even though I would love to just copy lots I already made in The Sims 3, I have to build everything from scratch because there is no default snow terrain.

I would put a park in the center there. I'm on a mac so I'm not sure what that would take or whatever, but that seems like a good place for an all-purpose park.

Yep :) thats actually where a park is going to be. I think I'm going to take a break from this world, as I am not liking how it's turning out. I'll be back at it soon though!

Maybe I'll do a forum post about making custom textures.

Unfortunately, CAW did not ship with any snow covered trees, so you have to stretch the imagination and think that the trees are snow covered or that it's been a few days/weeks since the last snowfall and it's been like 80° outside and melted all the snow off the trees.

I'd so LOVE to have snowy trees to put in my snow mountains.

You should be able to add cc to trees.
Like if you download a snowy tree from another site for your game - should show in CAW.

Oh and... You aint put any progress in a month or so.. any progress?

I like the idea. For lots I would definitely use more cottage looking ones to give it a more wintery town feel. And add some more evergreens around. But it is looking good so far

you should put as many lots on it as possible, then it will look really homey and stuff...
    that would be awesome!
its like a small but tight-knight town in the middle of nowhere!
