Bookworm Sims NOW get fun from reading?

«1
Sorry but how did they just come up with this 6 years later? Wasn't that a given? How did they not put that in the base game? Oh my god I laughed so hard when I heard this.
Where's my Sims 5 squad at?

Didn't you already know TS4 traits were extremely lackluster?...

I'm very happy they finally updated them.

Wait, Sims didn't get fun from reading before? I thought that they did since I thought I saw the fun bar go up before while they were reading, even with Bookworm Sims. Was I just imagining this the whole time? :D Very interesting though. I'm glad that they're updating things!

Sims always got fun from reading books because it provides entertainment, but Bookworm sims gained fun at the same pace as non-bookworm sims. That's been changed in this patch.

Ah, okay, that makes more sense. Thanks for telling me! It's good that the trait allows them to gain more fun now.

I knew they were lack luster, but I didn't realize they were THAT lackluster.

Sims have always gained fun from books, so it's not too bad to have never noticed they gain the same amount of fun.

They were :p It's why everyone complained...they literally did nothing a side from a few +1 moodlets.

Yeah, a lot of these changes make you stop and think, "wait... why wasn't this adjusted before during the 7 years this game has been out?" I got the same feeling when I read that showers and eating took less time for Sims. I'm all in favor of them though, just confused what took so long.

I always picked bookworm if I wanted a trait that did nothing because it barely did anything, it's nice that they added something more to that trait.

There's a thread for posting trait improvements as you encounter them.

The Sims has currently lost its identity. Bring it back for TS5

Yeah I never even noticed this wasn't in game to begin with LOL.

And here I was assuming that they already had fun reading. How'd I miss that...

Oh, I see. This relates to the bookworm sims specifically.

They did, but about the same amount than the sims without the trait :)

What did the bookworm trait do before this?

    Bookworm Trait Description
The official description from the trait states:

These Sims gain powerful Moodlets from analyzing Books and can Discuss Books in unique ways.

When you first perform an action with a creative Sim you get a notification that more insight on the trait. It reads:

[Sim’s Name] is a Bookworm. Bookworms are Inspired by Books and love to discuss them with other Sims.

    Analyzing Books
Sims with the bookworm trait gain additional fun when reading books. When they analyze books, they have a chance of getting an inspired Moodlet. Sims can analyze any book in the game.

    Discussing Books
Sims with the bookworm trait get two special social interactions designed to help build friendship levels quicker.

    Socials
There two special socials available for bookworm Sims allow Sims to make Friends with other Bookworms Sims faster. They include:

    Friendly > Discuss Favorite Authors
Small relationship gain with Sims who do not have the bookworm trait
Large relationship gain with Sims who do have the bookworm trait
    Medium gain to social need
    Friendly > Discuss Latest Book
Small relationship gain with Sims who do not have the bookworm trait
Medium relationship gain with Sims who do have the bookworm trait
    Medium gain to social need
Discover Sim has the bookworm trait
    Moodlets
Bookworms only gain one Moodlet. This is:

    Moodlet Description
    Inspired +2
    4 hours Intriguing Book
    (from analyzing book)
Bookworms get a lot of inspiration from a well written book.
    Trait Related Whims

Lol! It must have been an oversight, or maybe the person who coded it was not a bookworm back then :p

There's other things in game that I feel some sims should get fun from but they don't. I still can't get over how sims don't find magic fun.

    Wow....I didn't realize that.
