I remember the gurus saying the new pack will be something that's never been done in the Sims before,so I think Star Wars is out. We already have Star Wars stuff in Sims 4,plus there are so many worlds in Star Wars that it would be impossible to combine them in one pack without making it look like all the Star Wars planets ran into each other and merged into one huge confusing-looking landscape.

The new pack could either be a farming pack or a theme park/county fair pack, since Winter vacation was already done in Sims 1. A future world would be out since the future was already done in Sims 3,and we already have space travel/a space world in Sims 4.

Still think it's SW , it's just a few items and they never DONE anything like this...a crossover/collab pack with another series.

I am just TOO excited for this!! Praying that's what it is!!! Not a star wars fan but omg I could finally make an alien planet!!! I could hopefully make a dystopian scifi futuristic thing going on and have only servos and aliens plotting to over throw the sims universe!! Omg 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 please let it be star wars 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

What would the title of the pack be (as I'm personally 95% sure it's at least a SW-inspired pack, if not a branded SW pack) The Sims 4: Galaxy's Edge? TS4: Space discovery? My chosen title would be The Sims 4: Galaxy Adventure.

I'll copy what i wrote in another thread cause it's a big text and... im lazy 😅

"Can one be away from the forum for two days without all of this happening? 😅🤣

At first i looked at the icon and immediatly thought 'winter vacation'. But im kind of biased by all the discussion around the hypothetical winter themed pack... then i started reading all of this thread and the resemblance with Batuu is undeniable imo.

Im thrilled! I've been asking for sci fi content all the time!

I think that to get to Batuu we'll need to build a rocket. Batuu will be a world from where our sims will be able to access the unkown regions. Those will be 'hidden' by portals like the realm of magic. Batuu may also depict markets with all the material we'll need for deeper space exploration.

There are so many different unkown regions but devs can only focus in a few of them... there are ice planets, ocean planets with rocky islands, deserts... let's see which ones the devs have chosen... i'm really curious about the weather effects.

There are also so many themes that can be explored... i think that there'll be a jedi temple, lightsabers, the force, pleaseeee don't forget the dark side of the force... this are things that, if this comes to be true, are most likelly to be part of the pack.

But then the planets have much more to it... mining and farm elements, even resorts and casinos...

It's impossible that a game pack will have everything, but i believe at least one of this more 'mundane' features will be explored and will be 'usable' in all worlds. Having some feature that can be used by everyone is a way to make people that is not so much into this very niche theme feel that they have to buy it (for example, the military career in strangerville)."

Yesssssss!! Lol yeah I cant stay away for a day without coming back to something going on 😂😂😂😂 but yesssssssss imagine the scifi possibilities with this!!!!! People are too focused on the star wars aspect but I think just the theme and world itself will bring so much potential for scifi or fantasy players!!!
Zombies, oh please oh please give us zombies!! :'(

    :s

I hate it, if it's true. I'll only accept it if the game pack we get AFTER that is Harry Potter themed, or Disney princess themed.

So, some of this is going to reiterate what I've already said in another thread, but overall I think a Galaxy's Edge/Battu themed pack is incredibly likely given the icon. (I can't see anything else in that icon now, and the three suns thing is way to specific of a detail.)

While Star Wars in general might seem like too much of a departure in terms of theme, there are several elements of Galaxy's Edge that would make it work very well as a Game Pack.

To start, Battu would work very well as a vacation destination. Battu is already kind of set up like a Sims 4 world. (This is the map rendering of Galaxy's Edge in California for reference:)
    Star-Wars-Land_Full_35303.jpg?width=1120&quality=80&encoder=freeimage&progressive=true

The land consists of 3 distinct areas-a "First Order" area, a central marketplace, and the "Resistance Base". These could all easily be a "neighborhood" in TS4 terms. Additionally, assuming Battu is added as a vacation world (as I suspect it woiuld be) a 4th "neighborhood" could potentially be added in space above Battu, where your accommodations would be-just like the Galactic Starcruiser hotel that Disney's building in Florida. (The conceit of the hotel is that during your 3-day stay, you are actually going into space and making planetary excursions to Battu.) So far all we've seen of this hotel is concept art, but speaking of that concept art...
    Image_WDW_Star-Wars-Themed-Resort-3-2.jpg?resize=1920%2C1080&ssl=1

(Also, as an aside...you know how that one future cube hint really seemed to point to bunk beds? I'm not going to say that recreating that hotel would be the reason for making them, but...bunk beds do seem to be a feature of this hotel.)

Perhaps this would work something like Realm of Magic. You check into your room, and then when you're ready to visit Battu you travel through some sort of portal to the planet itself.

Realm of Magic could actually provide a pretty firm foundation for a pack like this. One of the story elements of Galaxy's Edge is that while visiting Battu, you choose an allegiance-you can choose to help the Resistance, help the First Order, or become a Smuggler...kind of like the 3 types of magic that we got with RoM. Instead of meeting magical sages, you meet Rey, Chewie, or Kylo Ren. Instead of buying a wand, you build a lightsaber. And instead of getting a familiar who flies behind you, you build a droid who rolls behind you. (Look, that's probably...85% of the reason I'm excited for this idea. Little BB or R2 unit buddies would be so cute.) You shop for special clothing and toys and search for special collectibles. You search for secret messages, intercept transmissions, and earn special "credits". Over time, you build your allegiance to one of the three areas based on what you do-just like with magic.

This concept also does check off the "major first" box mentioned in the roadmap. The Sims has always used general aesthetics from the real world to design its' environments, but it has never directly recreated a place in the real world. Even with TS3's World Adventures, they weren't recreating Cairo, Paris, or Shanghai. This would be a direct recreation of someplace we can actually visit, which has never been done before.

And then there's the fact that, with EA holding the video game rights to Star Wars for so long, a Star Wars pack has probably been on the idea board for quite some time. Basing the pack around a vacation to Battu is probably the only way The Sims can ever do a Star Wars pack, as having your Sims live in the Star Wars universe permanently would really necessitate a full spin-off game like Sims Midevil. But by making it a vacation destination-much like Battu is in real life- it can fit in alongside the rest of the game.

Star Wars includes heavy themes of violence and murder, plus actual war. I can’t believe people think that would be suited for the Sims.

A Star Wars pack would surpass the teen rating and is therefore actually impossible.

They can make it PG-13 rated ya know.

Even if you dual with light sabers, your opponent won't die, but maybe pass out? I mean it's possible.

A lot of SW stuff now a days are geared toward kids, teens, all ages.

All other EA Star Wars Titles are also rated T for Teen. Including the ones that do actually deal with war and death. I just checked.

The Sims would just have the Setting. The lightsabers would be no more dangerous than the swordfights in Get Famous and the blasters no worse than the Freeze ray from Get to Work.

Star Wars Battlefront, a game in which the primary gameplay is the 'war' aspect of Star Wars, is rated Teen.

I think it's star wars themed... But I do not think it will come with hotels. I think hotels will come with winter vacation pack expansion later in the year

I've always been a fan of Star Wars, ever since it came out in theaters back in 1977 to 1983.
Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia has always been my favorite character to the point wear I wanted to be her when I was a little girl. And I also had a crush on the young Mark Hamill, especially his blue eyes.😍😘

but SimGuruFrost's tweet from February puts a damper on that theory. Not enough of one that I'm going to discard it, but it's less likely.

    What was the tweet?

    Sorry, it was SimGuruDuke

It's from back in February, when everyone was speculating on a Game Pack for March that didn't happen. But it's from before the Road map, so it's arguable if the no theme park is just what was coming next, or applies to the whole Road Map, or to everything in the works at the time.

I think he was talking about the Expansion Pack we had in June.

It seems to me like he was talking in general, he said pack but did not specify what type of pack. This tweet is also not that old. Pretty sure they knew at that time what the upcoming packs were going to be since they have a roadmap and all.

I could imagine a Star Wars Universe inspired world, but nothing like following existing characters or stories as such. I'd have no problem with a Quest or better still, several quests. I need TS3 WA style puzzles in this game.

I don't think the Gamepack will be a Theme Park. This has been ruled out by SGDuke.
    What it could include:
    • Some kind of portal, machine or knowledge (scrolls?) that allows your sim to travel to a particular planet. The World/Planet itself needs to be entirely closed off from the ordinary world. Like RoM, but done much better and offering freedom to build and even live there. But please no spawning of random 'ordinary' sims. Stay home Landgraab. If I choose to smuggle Bella Goth across, that should entirely be my choice, not hers. It's my story.
    • Build what? A Spaceship. Droids. Portable Hologram Friends. Again, game play for the two latter needs to be a bit more in-dept than RoM's familiars or GF's drones. We've been there, done that. No more copying code or reskinning objects. No interest. My sim needs to be able to communicate with these things and they should contain information that might be important for the quest he's on. They should be able to build a relationship, like with a pet.
    • A Force Sensitive skill. Train as a Jedi, or turn to the Dark Side. Have Duels. Get that sword fighting from Get Famous out of that studio and into the world. But with style. And a little more edgy than that very tame untamed magic from RoM.
    • Explore several different areas like markets, docks, lakes and study the native flora and fauna. I'd like to be able to travel through space. As a Smuggler. Or a Jedi. Or an Astronomer.
    • I could imagine one small world/ 'district' to be an actual spaceship 'lot'. A place where my sim can live and train, before going back to the planet. Just so I can be totally immersed as my sim is traveling through space. The environmental FX could suggest this. I'd be happy with an 'apartment' shell, as long as I can build and decorate the inside. Of course the ship shell needs to look extraordinary! By that I mean Extra-Extra Extraordinary!

Am I asking for too much? Probably. But we'll see.

I don't want to speculate and I don't want to get my hopes up... but it really does look like this is what we're getting next, and I'm here for it. Whatever gets added with a pack like this, more science fiction is always welcome in my game!

I think it would be really nice to have a big ship, with maybe several apartments/rooms for the sims. I would really like to see beautiful space sights when looking out the window, with planets, stars, other spaceships going by.
