Born in Hawaii, have lived briefly in the southern Atlantic seaboard, the 'heartland' (prairies of central US), Rhode Island, and Northern New England. Spent the majority of my childhood in and around major universities in Texas as my my parents (and once, my grandfather, who was a particle physicist) worked there and/or were attending for higher degrees. Came of age in Austin, and it was the city that I lived in the longest and identify with the most. Have been to Mexico and Canada, and now reside in Northern New England.

Would like to go where both Russian and Japanese are spoken so I could ever make use of having studied both languages extensively. So that would be parts of Hokkaido and maybe nearby parts of Russia.
