For me it was suprising how much my sims put on a weight. She was eating garbage food true, but woah! Did they changed the way calories are count while using minifridge? xD

Quick meals were always more fattening than other types of food in the game. That's why so many students are getting fat, because ovens aren't allowed so we're left with quick meals.

Yoghurt and cereal aren't fattening, but they aren't a complete meal. You can make salad without an oven, however - my Sim has been living on a serving of garden salad for breakfast and one for dinner, and maybe a carrot or two in the afternoon if it looks like he won't make it until dinner.

If your Sim has enough gourmet cooking skill, you can make caprese salad and prosciutto with asparagus. If you reach 7 in Wellness, you can make the superfood salad. All of these are very low in 'game' calories.

There is also yoghurt parfait (level 1 in gourmet?). It's low-calorie, but it counts as a dessert, so it might have a 'sugar' moodlet? (I fed it to a toddler once, and it was not good: sugar crash.)
I just want things to match. :'(

Sims will go to class on time if they don't live on campus. It sometimes takes my Sim the entire class time to get to the building and then they miss the class. And bicycles make no sense at Foxbury. My solutions have been to teleport the sim or to miss the class even though my sim has an A+ average and moving on campus just ruined that, and yes, I'm just venting at this point.

Thanks for the information, it seems like the speed in game is causing problems again. Don't bikes help or make things worse considering there are stairs in both campuses, especially in Foxbury Institute if I'm not mistaken?

You can make your home lot have the study spot lot trait so if you commute to uni instead of living on campus you can get your homework etc. done more quickly.

Vent away :) I found bicycles a little annoying too. My Sim would cycle back to his dorm, disappear and then reappear with his bike in his dorm next to the elevator, he'd then get on the bike, before getting off and putting it in his inventory.

What annoys me most about the bicycles (which I think is a cool addition btw), is the pie menu. I constantly click on "bike here" by mistake. I suppose "Go here" used to be the top option, now replaced by "bike here" (if your sim has a bike). Wish the options would not change positions like that...

True, the healthier quick meals won't cause obesity but I tend to let my sims splurge, haha. Plus, with the roommates constantly bringing in food it's hard to tell them No.

I definitely found the bike issue! It was fine at Britechester, my sim got around quite quickly (apart from the getting off the bike and putting it in inventory, or leaving it random places thing), but at Foxbury :s My sim would leave for class an hour early, get out his bike, cycle to the first set of steps, get off his bike, put bike in inventory, walk down the steps, get bike out of inventory, cycle to the next set of steps....repeat multiple times - it took my sim 2 hours and missed his class just to cycle in a straight line!! I did find that they have flat cycle paths around the back of the buildings which avaoids the steps thing, but you have to make sure you click on them to make them use them... I sold my bike at Foxbury in the end, my head nearly exploded and it only took an hour to walk :/

In the commons building there is a cafeteria that’s open at certain times where you’re sim can buy food. They even have avocado toast which I loved. Also you can download some updates dorms from the gallery that have the cafeteria built into the dorm so your sim can order food and whatever they don’t eat put into their mini fridge for later.

When my sim graduated, I noticed she gained a load of weight in her hips area, for some reason she had abs like she worked out but got bigger around the bum and leg area. My sim also got embarrassed when in uni for open showers. Also almost all the sinks and all that broke down atleast once or twice a week. Got one of the other sims to upgrade them as they became annoying.

My Sim gained weight in her first two semesters because of the dorm food and also eating at the commons (there's not always healthy choices available, only once I've seen them selling garden salad). I made her go jogging after her class every day, eat vegetables and fruits from her inventory and quick meals like peas. She also did workout videos from TV in her dorm, I didn't even remember those at first. She lost the excess weight very quickly.

    Hey guys,

I got university, and have put one of my Sims through to graduation. Here are some things I noticed, just wondered whether they were happening for anyone else too?

So my Sims Mum kept appearing. At first it seemed like she would turn up for dorm parties, but then I noticed that sometimes she was just stood by the elevator for the dorm. This happened a lot. Why would your Mum just randomly show up at your dorm all the time? I'm wondering whether because my Sim was good friends with her, they treat that friendship as someone you'd like to see. But this is so unrealistic. You go to university, your parents don't randomly show up all the time. Really, no one should show up without you inviting them. That's the point of staying on campus and moving out. You get to control who you see.

I took too many classes - yep! My first semester I took all the classes, and there was hardly time to breath. In fact I found my first go with university a bit boring. I wanted my Sim to do really well. So I got him to study all the time and complete all the work. But even though he did that, one semester he got some C grades. Which meant he finished on an A- overall. But to get that he pretty much did nothing but work. There wasn't enough time for him to do anything else. I only found out how to join the debate club in his last semester. He never had a party, never did a keg stand, and I also wanted him to meet a girlfriend too, which he just managed to do at last minute. Which leads to......

Woohoo......there were no options for him to woohoo with his new girlfriend. No option for the bed and the showers in the dorm were too open. Yeah, you're not kidding too open, where are the shower curtains? Especially for a mixed dorm. Sometimes he'd get the embarrassed moodlet from showering, and I'm not surprised. I've never been to US dorm, but do they really have open mixed showers like that? This is university, you're on your own as a young adult, maybe for the first time. Surely there should have been more options for woohoo, or even making out. Maybe an option in your empty dorm room would be to lock the door for woohoo, or have a room mate walk in and then get really embarrassed.

So my Sim graduated. He's jumped forward in the attorney career but has to do a work from home assignment which is to guest lecture in law at university. It say's I can visit university and click on a classroom or do the task from my phone. But the only option is to visit the law class. I thought this might be it, but he's done it twice and that doesn't appear to be it. He's done it from his phone, and I got him to go in person and click on the classroom. I waited till 5pm to see whether he would have to do it within the guest lecture time, but no luck. I'm hoping the work from home assignments aren't broken like previous work from home jobs.

I did also report that when my Sim moved into his dorm, that he got bills for 3,070, which I had to cheat to pay. This seemed to only happen once luckily. But I have seen that others have reported this also.

So those are the things I've noticed so far, anyone have any others? :)

Shower woohoo is working in my game whether the shower has curtains or glass doors.

Yes thats saved me a lot. The seed packs are great for that. But not just fruit, you can get veggies to. Like carrots ,green peppers, spinch, mushrooms etc.

Carl (the Sims guide Carl) made a video in which he suggested buying seeds via the computer and eating fruit. It’s a great solution for quick food on the run without adding to any bad moodlets and it won’t make your sim gain weight.

My 3 brothers lived off campus and their dad showed up alot, and their sister. Their mom only came a couple of times and only stayed an hour or so. The last time their dad showed up he stayed 3 1/2 days. The only way I got him to leave was to go to manage worlds and move him out of his house and back in again.
I never had the problem with food, they were vampires and always had plasma packs. I did have to watch to make sure they didn't go to class too early and burn to death waiting for class to start.

I suspect the weight gain/loss at Uni to be programmed differently than when back home. Even my sim eating mostly salads did gain weight, I never let her eat if the hunger bar was full. Having them go jogging hardly helped while on Uni, and there is no way my sims could spend hours every day on exercising.

I think this needs some fine tuning. I know no young adults in real life who get that big from a few years surviving on a student budget...

So, I just go to CAS to reduce their body mass after graduating. It doesn't even feel like cheating, LOL.

I sent all four of my Sims to Britechester-U all at once. They lost their mother to a fire, so that left their Dad and kid brother (Child Sim) to rattle around in their lofty mansion of a home. A home with no Mom. I figured that might have been why their Dad kept showing up, at random. They were all very glad to see him. Too bad he couldn't attend the graduation ceremony, though. I'll take the rabbit hole, I'm not proud. LOL

I have since had to restart this family. We'll see what happens when I take all four of the eldest children through uni again.

Ah, the Freshman Fifteen. Take your Sim to the Commons. They serve real food. Took me to the fourth term or so before I discovered it. They also serve Holiday Meals on the holidays. Anytime my Sims visited that venue, the food wasn't available. Then one time the Cook appeared and that's when I discovered real food was being served. Some of those food stalls only serve donuts, sweet rolls, sweet bread and something else equally fattening.

As a Potteries lass I was delighted to find a stall selling 'chip butty'.
