The girls have progressed far enough with potions to finally merit going to the magic realm to get their wands, brooms, and familiars.
Shanice and Melissa fly to Glimmerbrook.
Khloe and Everly have to make the trip on foot.
The magic realm, it has been a while because they were focused on learning potions:
They bought what was available.
And introduced themselves to their relevant sages.
Everly summoned her familiar on the lot.
The glow frog.
That eye looks odd.
It makes it looks like a kid's drawing come to life.
They got everything they needed, so I sent them home.
The rain in Brindleton Bay is ridiculous.
Whatcha got, Khloe?
Oh, the owl.
Well you girls are well equipped for your next Adventure.
A jungle adventure.
They have burned through all their motherloded money.
I decided that they should find a way to fill their bank account without having to slave away at jobs. Who want's a muggle's life?
Mount your brooms... if you can.
This is so much better than walking through the jungle.
They are totally prepared for what ever the jungle throws at them.
From Khloe's phone, to social media.
Spell casters make the best adventures.
With their spells and potions, they can make quick progress.
To the inner sanctum.
I wish these temple guardians were more menacing.
You could pretty much ignore them.
But how could anyone resist doing this to them?
Now that's entertainment.
Ffffffppppt!
Whoa, poisoned dart!
Wrong bowl, but quick reflexes.
This is the correct one.
Yes, the ultimate treasure.
Now they can all go home.
Selvadorada is not a true vacation spot.
It's good to be home.
It's been awhile since I have posted anything in here.
I have been busy building with Discover University. The post above was a way overdue Realm of Magic posting.
I have been busy building and testing a custom dorm for Discover University.
It's almost ready for upload and I can finally begin playing my main sims. Maybe.
Well, not right away, I have some other projects like Prep school housing for teens and make-overs of pre-made DU dorms and commons.
My TS4 dorm is a remake of my favorite custom dorm from The Sims 2 University.
I created this dorm when the Harry Potter books were very popular and the first couple of movies came out.
I wanted to create Hoggwarts, but that was just a bit too much for me. So I created this dorm for a little Potter vibe.
I was all set to start building from scratch when I realized that I had a perfect theme already started with my Realm of Magic Home series.
I have actually gotten a lot of play time in.
I sent my magical sims, Shanice and Melissa, to Britechester's dorms to find out what Uni life was like in TS4.
I used what I learned to refine my dorm.
They are now in their second term and in version 2.0 of this dorm.
I wanted to try features I hadn't in my last play of the dorm, like this rocket launch pad.
Shanice is taking a rocket science elective.
Melissa is lending a helping hand to speed up the build.
There is Shanice, as seen from launch control in the science lab.
Foxbury may be a prime technology school, but Britechester is no slouch.
What are Bella and Mortimer doing here?
Checking out dorm housing for Cassandra?
My dorm is in Windenburg by the way. I am pretending it is in close proximity to Britechester.
Ooh, I will be sending Cassandra with my sims to Uni.
I decided to let Melissa gets started on skills for her elective: The Pipe Organ.
I happened to have this one in the attic and thought it would be fun to take advantage of it.
This is progressing much faster than I thought it would.
I'll have her call it quits and get started on her homework.
I wonder if any dormies are going to miss class because they are off exploring space instead of going to class.
The Mirror of Erised.
This space is intended for student shenanigans. That's the spy device form Strangerville.
I want to use it to plant espionage bugs on Foxbury students. Especially the mascot or anyone pranking Britechester.
I intend on playing Shanice and Melissa all the way through Uni.
The dorm should be in its final state and I will give it a real test run.
I love looking at your pictures because you have some really good ideas, like that rocket launch pad. I love that.
I have a sim who is taking computer science classes and has started building robots during his third semester. He is residing at home and has enough money to buy a bot station so he doesn't have to travel to Foxbury to use it. I have no idea why I registered him at Britechester, doh.
In the mean time I would rather him get electrocuted at home instead of in a strange place, lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing your dorm and happy that you are going to upload it.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
It takes advantage of a lot of packs and may test some simmer's computers.
It runs smoothly on mine.
1st Floor:
-Foyer
-Dinning Hall (The cafeteria object has been removed since it's not needed)
-Library/Study
-Science Lab
-Greenhouse
-West Wing: Arts area
-East Wing: Fitness and Wellness
3rd Floor:
-Sealed magic chamber (sorry, no potion making) Teleport to get inside
-"I solemnly swear I am up to no good" storage room.
-Movie night theater

My renovations of Drake and Wyvern dorms are now uploaded.
My intent with these renovations was to make the two dorm unique to each other.
Drake has a darker theme and is designed to support sims pursing a standard degree. It supports science with fun objects.
Wyvern has a lighter theme, supports sims going for a Distinguished degree, and has objects for the arts. Both have 8 beds.
Wow, these dorms are great! Very impressed, must have taken quite a long time to build, I got both of them already. I was looking at Britechester and thinking, where are these supposed to go, lol. I'm glad they're in Windenberg.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
The intention of these lots is to have access to certain items while your sim is locked out of buy-mode during their time at University, or have access to items that are difficult to acquire by normal game play. The Prices are more expensive than buy mode. You can have someone own the shop and reduce the price, but it will still be more expensive than buy mode. The point is accessibility through game play instead of cheats. You can also purchase themed clothing, or set up your own styled looks.
Did you forget something before packing your sim off to Uni?
Or maybe there is something here that you did not know you needed. There are plenty of inventory based items here to explore.
Foxbury.
The same store, but with a Foxbury theme.
Need a sleep replacement tonic? Instant fun, but want to save your reward points?
How about a party bot? Don't bother with the lap tops. They are cheaper at the kiosk.
There are some custom styled looks here, in Britechester colors, or create you own.
Is your sim taking Robotics as an elective? Or did you buy a bot? Just wanna look cooler while wearing those computer glasses?
Pick up a Robo-arm to look cool and reduce shocks.
Electronics and My Sim collectables go together like...
...well they don't, but you can pick up both in this wing of the store.
Didn't know your sim was going to take a creative elective?
Well come on up and get a guitar, easel, or electronic keyboard. Ooh! Yoga mat!
Let's try it out with Shanice and Melissa.
I believe the cameras and the potions are little wonky for being on sale.
You may find you have to get a sim to buy the store and set them for sale. You will need to do that anyway if you want to create you own clothing styled looks.
We are snapping up some utility bots and these computer glasses.
I did even know they were a thing.
Melissa does not need these, but Shanice did take up robotics as an elective.
You can buy clothing, or just try them on.
There is a wardrobe closet if you want to change anything after buying.
Of course this doesn't make any sense since the clothes in the wardrobe are free.
Sporty.
The robo-arm on display gave me the impression that it overlays over any clothing, but that is not the case.
You have to wear this top with it.
She's going to need a change of pants.
Shopping spree over, let's get back to the dorm.
I like having easy access to bots, only a select few of my sims will ever make them.
You have one job.
I like that.
I put this one on the bench to see what options it has.
There isn't much she can do with it now.
Gotta work on those parts.
I was curious about those computer glasses.
Can she use them sitting down?
Yes she can!
Clean bot ignores spoiled food.
It has half a job.
The store also has these objects that I did not know were a thing.
Motivator whatzits. You cannot buy these in the store, but you can drag them into your sim's inventory. [FREEBIES!!]
They have an area effect on nearby sims.
Yowza!
Melissa is energized.
Shanice is not because she was outside that room.
Now her energy need is maxed.
I guess I will need a Servo for this mess.
I like the fixer bot.
But it eventually breaks down.
They are all breaking down.
I should only activate them when needed.
Or buy two fixer bots to keep each other tuned.
I love the store.
It has made dorm life for fun and flexible for me.
Wow, these dorms are great! Very impressed, must have taken quite a long time to build, I got both of them already. I was looking at Britechester and thinking, where are these supposed to go, lol. I'm glad they're in Windenberg.
Thanks.
Sometimes its a bit maddening to be so busy building that you can't play the game.
My main sims are still on hold while I set things up.
I still have my Prep School dorm for teens to build.
I am actually playing the sim who will run that place through University. I want him to be authentic.
He will have a partner who will help run it. He will meet her in University.
Great job on the stores! So many bits and bobs that I didn't even know were a thing Those motivator thingies?! I really must explore debug a bit more... Looking forward to placing these and have my Sims go shopping.
Love your shops, I need them...or rather my sims need them. I love the new stuff you always seem to find that I haven't yet. I did not know about the computer glasses! Those are so cool! Great job as always CK.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
I still haven't started playing my main sims yet.
I have been playing other sims as I play-tested the new buildings I will be using when I do start playing them.
My next project is a College Preparatory dorm for my teen sims.
I am currently playing the two sims who will run the place.
The scenario is two students that met while in college decided to found a school to prepare students for Britechester and Foxbury. They want to strengthen the ties between the two schools and keep the rivalry friendly.
Ambrosius is an Economics major at Foxbury. He lives in San Myshuno.
He met his future partner while checking out Britechester one day.
Janay is a Psychology major. These two hit it off and are now roommates.
Janay now has now qualified for enrollment in Foxbury too.
Once these two finish Uni, Ambrosius will run the school as the administrator and Janay will be head professor.
And then I can finally get to playing my main sims.
I can understand that, my breaks only last a couple of days but when I run out of goals for my sims I need a break. Since Sims 4 is the only game I play, I usually don't stray for long.
See you soon!
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
I can understand that, my breaks only last a couple of days but when I run out of goals for my sims I need a break. Since Sims 4 is the only game I play, I usually don't stray for long.
See you soon!
It's a good thing I am on a break.
Photobucket is having major issues. I would be really if I was trying to upload images.
Thank heavens! Photobucket really has had their problems haven't they. When I used to upload in Sims 3 I used Imgur, but that has been many moons ago.
I have had a week and a half off for the holidays and I did not play The Sims 4 at all.
I did load it up once and then quit instantly. Instead I was playing GT Sport: racing cars and designing car skins and taking beautiful pictures of them. I did have this game for the longest time and never played it because I was either playing TS4 or Skyrim. I guess I was overdue.
Around the Christmas holidays is always a good time for spending with family. I think there was one day, probably Christmas Day I did not play. I always seem to enjoy getting back to my game no matter how long I'm away.
After your break, you'll be ready to get back to simming again. Happy Gaming!
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
Hi CK and everyone. I've been reading this thread (and the archived thread) for a while now, but I'm not sure if I've ever commented. So hello!
I've also had a lot of fun renovating/making my own dorms. I always add the cafeteria station so my Sims won't have to go to the commons for their meals. It bothers me the cafeteria stations don't match any of the counters in-game. The chef station and café objects have matching counters, so why doesn't the cafeteria station?
Your shops look really useful and well-done. To be honest, I always cheat to get into buy mode while my Sims are in their dorms. It makes sense to me that the devs decided to disable it, but I just can't stop myself, lol.
I hope Discover University lives up to your expectations once you have the time to play it more. I know you have been anticipating its release for a while. Have you heard about the Tiny Living stuff pack being released today?
Well I have had enough.
I was going to wait until TS4 was done before I jumped seriously into modding, but I can't take it anymore.
These sims are starting to bore me to tears.
So I installed the Slice of Life and Meaningful stories mods.
I am not going to test it out on my main sims. I am going back to my San Myshuno future starlets.
I was going to play them again when when Moschino Stuff came out, because it beefed up photography game play--something one of my sims could really use.
I wanted Slice of Life mainly for the personality types and Meaningful Stories for how it managed moodlets.
Now I hope I can have a game where sims live according to their traits and that their emotions are believable.
I liked that Melonie got this one because cooking is part of her personalty.
It made sense for me to have her cook something while inspired.
Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but Melonie went to the mike on her own.
She is going to be a comedian, so this just makes sense for her to do.
Monique loves photography, and she's reading her photography skill book.
But then again, there is no computer in the house, so this might not mean anything.
I just got the mods, so I have no idea how enjoyable they are yet, but I feeling good about them initially.
Oh wow! You know, I have been reading about this mod for some time, but your description after downloading it makes me wonder if this is something worth looking into. I had the same reservations about MCCC way back and of course, I can't play without it now.
The most telling thing about a modder with a great mod is how quickly they update after a patch. Deaderpool and LittleMsSam have me totally spoiled by record updating their mods. Weerbusu, I think, UI Extension and more columns in CAS are other mods that he updates pretty fast.
I will have to check it out CK, thanks for the tip!
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
