This is only the second time in Sims4 that I have felt a sense of inertia. While I'm enjoying one of two game saves, currently, I am always fighting myself on which save to play. Part of the problem is PEPS (pre-expansion pack syndrome, for the Noobs, among us). I have to decide if my now teenage Global Superstar will attend uni or not. It would be helpful if EA would gives us another hint about what we can expect. For instance, when they brought us uni in Sims3, it was stated that any age Sim could attend college and that time would basically stop for the duration they were at uni, so that their family life (if they were already YAs or older) wouldn't be drastically affected by their absence. I also liked how the pursuit of that degree was broken into stages, which made it less monotonous.
I miss playing my singer Sim, like you wouldn't believe. But, if I continue to play him, he'll end up aging up. I do play on Long, but I've also had this save for a good couple of months (pats self on back). Yeah, the Queen of Restarts has reigned herself in, just a tad.
So, without knowing whether or not a Sim can attend uni at any age (YA +) I'm at a stand still. So much so, that I end up hanging out here or reading my emails until the game window draws very short or I run out of time altogether. Here I sit on Saturday mid-morning, and I've yet to even power up my game. Every day, I miss playing altogether like yesterday, I tell myself, I'll clear out my inbox and then play my game. Maximize the time I have. Yet, here I sit, typing away and I have yet to decide.
Please help me.
Does anyone else suffer from this affliction? Even if it isn't PEPS, do you ponder which game save to play until the time to play gets eaten away? If so, I would really appreciate your suggestions for me, or even what you do for yourself to get over this problem and start playing the game?
Please, and thank you, in advance.

Hm. I could do that. It certainly beats opening up another new save for the same family. Thanks for the life-ring! Now, if only I could get my game to stop crashing. At least I saved several times today, prior to the final crash. When I left off playing the 'other' save, last, my young couple need only get through the night to their morning wedding the next day. Yet, when I opened the game today I was two days back in time. I'm either showing signs of dementia and I'm doing things I don't remember, or the game is messing with me. LOL (I'm going to go with the latter, as I do know my Superstar was targeted for death. He suffered, twice an Hysterical death. I went back a few saves and sure enough, he was targeted a third time! I replaced my saves file with a copy of the back up to 'fix' the problem.)

You might not like my solution: to keep my existing saves intact, I just opened a new one and went in a completely different direction than usual.
Created brand new Sim sisters one of whom is in the Acting career, turned on aging *insert internal screaming as my norm is aging off* and I'm basically just seeing if this one draws me in (so far so good though it's only been a few days).
Other than that, my usual solution is: let's build something. Building for me is relaxing and head-clearing, which tends to help and I end up with something fun at the end of it.
I think that's where I am. I have a bad tendency to rush things because I grow impatient (personality flaw). I made certain to take my time with this game save, allowing Erik to slowly gain his fame. Having him write more songs and licence them. Having him cut albums once he qualified via RTF to do that. I actually enjoyed it when he reached Global Superstar status and his frame setting ceremony, unlike the three other times prior where it felt 'old hat'. Been there done that, yawn. Since some of the mods I removed and then returned may have corrupted the save, I may well have to restart anyway. But, should I decide to blog about him again, this time I can age him down to Child, long enough to snap a photo or two of his coming prowess to add to the rise of this musical genius with an air of suavity about his Simness. (Don't know what that means? He's highly charismatic.)
Thank you for your response. At least I know I'm not alone.

Right now my game keeps crashing. I blamed it on the patch, initially, since that's when it started. Then I went for a time where all was well. Then I found out three of the five mods were okay and placed them back in my game. I got daring and placed the other two (one at a time to test them) and a few things when wonky but then stabilized. Then the crashing began again. Face/palm. As I stated above I may have to restart anyway, as the saves may now be corrupted. Oi! And I best hurry, too. There's a mod coming out tomorrow I'm very interested in trying.
Thank you for posting, it's helps when others give their opinion.
I like your solution. But, I have already gone into my castle and changed out the staircases! What I may do, however, is go ahead and use some of this time to create anew the templates. Get the towns all set for my singer Sim (I know I'll have to, at some point, restart) and this will make it a quicker start-up. Plus, it will keep me busy. I do love to build and I also find it highly relaxing. I may just give my Hawkins family a new home, too. I just wish I had more of a clue as to what their house looked like. I know Joseph was well-to-do, and well-connected in his century (18th). And although his property still exits, known these days as Hawkinston, VA, I highly doubt the building does.
