Mod the Sims has a great selection too my personal favourite builders are stonee206 (most of their houses are either base-game only or require one or two EPs), Fake Houses Real Awesome, and CarlDillynson.
It depends on what I’m looking for in particular, but I would second both the previously mentioned DNA request team’s blog and MTS as they have a bit of everything from a variety of creators with many CC-free lots available and easy to use search functions.
My Sim Realty is also a good site and all lots are CC-free.
The Exchange can be a good source if you’re familiar with CC-free creators and CUSTARD check everything.
Other, older blogs I recall liking and downloading from include Simply Ruthless, Arda Sims, Lily May Rose (Lily’s Sim Antics), Simsational Designs. (IIRC, some lots by these creators are CC-free and some aren’t, but it’s often minimal and either not included in the download or easily removed with CUSTARD.)
Thank you! I don't have any idea why I didn't think of MTS... Maybe because in my head I just associate MTS with CC lol.. Have never been to DNA but have now already downloaded one house. Some real talent there.
What, exactly, is CUSTARD if you don't mind me asking
CUSTARD is a programme which can detect bad cc so you can avoid installing it in your game. I would go to NRaas and follow the links there.
I no longer use Origin or My Page. You can find me on YouTube or Twitter as Bettyboop711000. You are welcome to contact me as I explore options for a PC sandbox life simulation game.

FakeHouses/RealAwesome at MTS is one of the best Real Estate creators I know! Some creations are CC free, some are not, but they are definitely worth the detour...
Checking any packs you download before installing is a good habit to get into, and can save you trouble in the long run.
I also agree with @TinySpaceFox and @jillbg on the recommendation of Fake Houses|Real Awesome at MTS. I actually downloaded a few of their small starter homes only a couple weeks back for my Bridgeport redo project, which I placed on the small lots in the suburban area. Even after removing the CC with CUSTARD, they look very good.
MTS, Fake Houses Real Awesome and MySimRealty: https://www.mysimrealty.com/ always have awesome houses. The absolute best builds I have ever played, though, have been made by @romagi1 on the DNA request team!

Crinrict has a good basic tutorial on its installation and use here: https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/tutorial-delphys-custard.html
