Saw it on one of Iron Seagull's Seasons Let's Play. Glad sims have this option during the holiday now. It's the little things like this I love about The Sims 4.
I really like the holiday ceremonies as well and don’t mind at all that they are rabbit holes (as it leaves more room to the imagination as what exactly the ceremony is). I just wish they weren’t quite as long, feels like it takes up too much of the day.
I don’t like rabbit holes at all, I would rather they let us take our sims off for 5 hours. I downloaded someone’s cute Christmas place thinking my sims could go there as their ceremony, they could st least make it either or. One reason I stopped playing the Sims 3 was because of the rabbit holes. I was so excited about San Myshuno because I really thought my sims were going to go see a concert.... and it turns out it was a rabbit hole. As for for Volunteering I would rather go help a neighbor. I do not like rabbit holes. Please give us the choice to do something with our sims (join) them rather than making it a rabbit hole, at least give us a choice! I made the holiday ceremony so my sims could take off work, and actually do something as a family....a waste of a day off....
Yeah, they leave for about 5 hours then return. I wish it could have been more than just a rabbit hole, but oh well
5 hours? Really? Next time I send my Sim to services on Winterfest morning, I'll have to check and see how long it takes. Never seemed that long to me.
I've never seen an option to send my sims to a holiday service, and I've had Seasons since it came out. Where do I find this?
I discovered it when I decided to add a holiday on the calendar. Scroll down and you'll see all kinds of things to do to fit whatever holiday you're creating. I also plan on and have removed it from Deck the Halls, since it doesn't really make a lot of sense. Since we can edit the premade holidays, I shifted the attend services to Winterfest itself.

That explains why I've never noticed it; I hardly ever make my own holidays or edit the existing ones. I'll have to add it to one of them and try it out.
You could even have one or two Sims in the family skip it -- maybe a teen isn't into that sort of thing so they'll stay home and watch their toddler siblings, or maybe just hang out with their friends at the bowling alley.

So it's a new volunteer spot?
There are several rabbithole locations you can choose from that's why I think a new one could have been added.
Well it uses the same system as volunteering from Parenthood, so can children volunteer?
Toddlers can’t, but children can.
That's disappointing. I wanted to take the whole family. Hopefully someone will make a mod so toddlers can go too.
