Winter looks like it is moving on out as the new year starts.
Roger and Ann still have plenty of ancient artifacts to process. Their weekends are spent working together as a team.
They have time for a new year's celebration.
Olivia is allowed to stay up late to celebrate.
No fancy party or anything, I will probably save that for when all my sims have grown up.
A crop dusting plane?
Another farming pack hint?
The Spice Market neighborhood is hosting another flea market, which the Banks never pass up.
Olivia is on the job negotiating for better prices:
She snatches up some rare gems for her dad.
Backstory--this is where she gets her desire to run her own business.
Roger needs the gem for the Cat relic, Balampalsoh.
It was rumored to have powers to grant wealth.
Just chant to release the power.
500 simoleons, just like that.
Melonie drops by to visit Olivia.
This is now Roger's favorite relic.
He has had these others for a while.
It's time to find out what they do.
He just needs to snap together a few components and he should be in business.
This is some kind of bird relic.
It's a bird of prey, maybe it's a symbolizes power.
He could use some of that.
Roger is immediately overcome with a sense of wrongness.
He isn't feeling well.
He goes to bed to get some rest.
He's feeling quite dazed the next morning as he heads off to work,
But nothing is going to stop this workaholic for earning more cash.
He is still feeling the same after work as he fills out business reports.
They aren't worried about the illness, as they have all experience these illnesses, and they have recovered easily.
They don't even bother with medicine anymore.
But...
this does seem to be going on longer than normal.
They carry on. This can only last so long.
Roger will soon be his normal self.
Olivia woke in the middle of the night, hungry, but at the same time feeling something was wrong.
Roger was awake also, but he was feeling horribly sick.
He collapses to the floor.
Olivia hears him fall and investigates the sound.
Olivia doesn't know what is happening, bu senses something is very wrong with her dad.
She begins to cry. Her crying awakens Ann.
Before Ann can make sense of what is happening, the Grim Reaper floats into the room.
Roger is dead.
This is all happening too fast.
She awakens to her world being turned upside down.
His very soul is being taken away before her eyes.
She wants to beg for his return, but knows she can't have Roger back.
They are too shocked to say anything, but what they know is written on their faces.
He's gone.
Ann can only hug Olivia to comfort her, and find comfort for herself.
The Grim Reaper always takes a moment to unwind before the next soul harvest.
This is all too much for Ann to handle.
She climbs into bed to cry it out. Olivia joins her.
I did not see that coming! Oh my. Poor Ann and Olivia...
Did that take you by surprise and you just went with it, or did you plan poor Roger's demise...?!
Nah, it's hard for death to take you by surprise in this version of The Sims.
I am playing out Olivia's backstory I created from way back.
This does make me very sad because I have become attached to Olivia's parents.
I almost changed my mind about playing out the backstory.
Boy I didn't see that coming either...you are a good storyteller CK! I suppose you didn't plan anything with his ghost? One of my sims tried dying on me and nope, no can do. Yup, EA can spring a good on me once in a while.
My sim who is a jungle explorer, got stung by a poisonous scorpion and looked exactly like Roger, so I quit without saving. Call me a wussie, lol.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.
I know I will be resurrecting this family again from my CAS bin after the last TS4 pack is made.
I will play them in a new save and give them a happier life.
We are getting a new career!
New careers are much needed and this one will be very useful for me as well as Olivia.
If any of you were around for my original simming moments thread, you may remember Olivia running a small boutique.
She started off with a tiny store, but expanded it and even had a little office on the top floor.
I really did enjoy it. Getting that wardrobe closet allowed her to do makeovers as well. This new Stylist career will add an extra level of immersion while giving her an actual career.
Terrain Tools!!!
This caught me totally by surprise, because I did not think Maxis would actually bring it to The Sims 4.
It was hilarious that they were going on about Game Changers while one Guru played with the Terrain Tools--WITHOUT SAYING A SINGLE WORD ABOUT IT!!!
I actually didn't use terrain tools much in TS3 because it tend to have some negative side effects to some lots, like sinking the terrain near the edge of the lot. But, it's nice to see the tool. I will experiment with it when we get it.
Okay, not what I expected.
Well, I expected a fame pack, but not this year.
I was really hoping for University, because no University is really holding back my game progression.
However, this will be Kara's pack.
I've always felt she was the supermodel type. I don't know if modeling is one of the careers, but she should find something to shoot for.
Fame is going to have to wait because she is still a toddler at the moment.
But that's not stopping her from having famous parents. If there is more than one career, the parent's will be in one and she will go after another.
Acting is most certainly one of those careers.
And it's an active career as well.
I just hope the paparazzi aren't annoying this time and fame isn't a social disease.
Del Sol Valley, a new world alone is a good reason for me to get a pack.
Hopefully this city have a decent section for community lots. I wonder if there will be apartments too.
Probably not.
Looks like sims will be living large.
As for a status update, I am currently back to TS3.
I had the idea to replay my sims from my Supernatural Story thread.
I love those sims so much and it's very exciting for me to play them again without distractions and forced play that comes with making a story.
I can just enjoy pure game play since the plot line is already created.
I am glad I picked up TS3 again. It looks like my intuition was spot on.
No University means my sims will eventually be on hold. I can play TS3 until this pack comes out, and then play Get Famous and give Kara famous parents. Hopefully expansion packs will arrive faster now since they have gotten the difficult ones out of the way.
Yeah I was disappointed that it's not University, though I'm sure that will come along at some point. I'm a bit on the fence on this one. Showtime was my least favourite TS3 pack and I hated the fame system and the paparazzi with a vengeance so I really, really hope that they haven't replicated that... But I know lots of people were desperate for a fame/celebrity system, so happy for them.
In the meantime, have fun with your TS3 supernatural Simmies (is that the faeries and witches from your old story?)

I kind of liked Showtime, because it brought objects that completed Late Night, but then again I did not use the careers much.
I could probably play them now and discover things I have never seen, but it did not feel like it was up to par with a true Superstar expansion.
I don't think The Sims have ever reached the potential of what a reinvented Superstar pack can be, and I am not sold yet with Get Famous.
That picture of my TS3 sims is from the actual story.
I am starting over and enjoying how it is unfolding similar, but not the same as the story.
Sithia has enthralled Lenny to get off that tiny lot and eventually into the grand castle she want's to build.
They are currently living on that old castle ruins lot.
Sithia was the evil faery, wasn't she? Or just misunderstood Have fun!
Yeah, it's kind of disturbing to play her now as she was very evil when she arrived to Bridgeport.
Sithia was transformed by a truly evil fairy whose plan was to use her infiltrate the Fairy Queen's court and destroy it from inside. Only the plan backfired and Sithia absorbed the evil fairy's essence and even took her name.
She was discovered after she attacked Honeywell. She was caught, had her memory erased, and was exiled from the fairy world to the human world, where she was a less of a threat. Eventually being loved by the humans she had collected brought her back to her normal self. Actually, all of the characters went through transformations throughout the story.
My TS4 Sims are on hold until Get Famous is on sale for 50% off.
While I do believe this will be a fun pack, I am disappointed in the size of the world and a bit miffed that there is only one active career.
It does have some depth to it, but it's one career. This game would be an AWESOME Game Pack, so I will wait for a game pack price.
So in the meantime, I am back to TS3, playing my favorite sims over again.
I do think I will like Get Famous.
I have a thread over in the Ideas forum promoting making the Dangerous Stuff pack concept into a Game Pack: Drama and Danger.
I am pleased to see that there is a Get Infamous aspect to Get Famous with the reputation system.
Get Famous looks like it's going to have some badly needed drama in it with the Reputations system, perks, and quirks.
I had an imaginary experience that is going to inspire me to milk this system.
It occurred with Olivia and Kara long ago in their first save.
And it was only me reading more into what happened than what was going on, but Get Famous should allow me to play this out.
I haven't played Olivia in a while as I played other sims to get their lives started. She owns a high end clothing boutique.
I should give it some more play.
I can see Kara Monteroy back there on the dance club deck.
And she is looking very hostile.
My imagination says it's directed purely at Olivia.
Olivia Banks, beautiful snob, wealthy and everyone loves her...
Oh yeah, this green eyed monster in a green dress is going to be hating on you.
Olivia is going to have some issues of her own, like being a Juice Enthusiast.
Get Famous looks very interesting, but I'm still shell shocked by Sims 3 and the celebrity system that made me pull my hair out on a regular basis. Plus I thought sure it would be a game pack with witches...drat!
At some point I do hope we get University type pack, and the witches pack. In the meantime, enjoy Sims 3!
Right now I'm into building a vampire, um, nest or coven or whatever a group of good vampires trying to make the name of vampire a good thing for sims.
In my house, dog hair sticks to everything but the dog.

Yeah, I am playing TS3 now and I had a sim take on an opportunity to deliver something to one of the rabbit holes.
The game made her a celebrity just for that. I had to use Master Controller to remove the celebrity status. I need to go in an disable the household from becoming celebs.
I've been watching the videos and Get Famous is going to help out a lot with upcoming game play for my sims.
I am almost tempted to buy it on launch day. I happen to have a week off that week. But I might use that time to power through TS3 instead and maybe re-familiarize with Skyrim. I still have a play-through going of it.
I have plenty to do until a Get Famous sale pops up.
I don't have Get Famous yet. I planned on waiting for a sale, but other simmers gushing over game play is tempting me to buy it now--plus I have the whole week off, which would be a great time to explore it.
However, the Python update has borked all my custom hair.
I can only pick blonde hair colors. So I am now faced with using Sims 4 studio to fixed all my custom hair, or waiting for CC creators to update their hair styles. I am considering giving up alpha hair altogether.
I deleted my Sims 4 folder and had the game regenerate a new one.
I am now going through all my CC to see how they were affected. I have to do that before I can put in my saved games and lots.
Also, I here there is a nasty game bug where going into CAS ages your sim.
This all taken together means I won't being back to normal TS4 simming for a week or three.
I am just testing out things and getting my game back to shape.
Yeah, it's a pain about the alpha hair and really bizarre... I think the devs are looking into it so hopefully there might be a batch fix for that soon. The aging in CAS bug is also random and super annoying I'm afraid to play any of my main saves until they've sorted it - I know they're working on a 'maintenance patch' for it, so fingers crossed that's fixed early next week. In the meantime, I'm noodling around in a test save where I've set the age span to looooong, so is she ages a day or five when I'm in CAS, it doesn't particularly matter. It's fun! Although it seems far too easy to progress through the acting career so I might need to look for a mod that makes getting promoted more challenging.
I caved.
I went around editing this new save to put in all my lots from the lot tray and became impatient for what I could be putting in the game from Get Famous.
Here are my sims to try the EP out.
Monique Brown, Olivia Banks, Meadow Thayer, and Melonie Bloom.
They are all teens, sharing an apartment in the Spice Market.
We are jumping ahead into the future with these sims until the game gets another patch. I will then return to Miss Peregrine's save.
You can easily tell who the self-absorbed sims are.
Melonie will be going back to her base game comedic roots.
She's going to be a famous comedian.
Monique is all about the music:
Olivia is going to be a style influencer.
Maybe she will turn to acting later.
Game play is a going to be tough.
They are going to school and they all have part time jobsl plus I want to prep them for fame and other activities.
They will be teens for a short while.
I want them to experience the cos-players lifestyle, because I have a special lot for it and I need to test it out.
Did they improve shadows?
No jaggies here.
Meadow will be going for the acting career track eventually.
They will be moving out of San Myshuno for Del Sol Valley after they age into young adults.
Meadow is in the dram club.
Melonie is too.
Comedy and Drama.
Monique is flipping burgers for her after-school job.
Olivia is in retail.
School, homework, and work-work, not much time for anything else.
I am using their vacation days after the weekend, so they can have fun.
They can dream about placing their own plaques here.
I am deleting all the default lots in this area.
I brought over one of my lots from San Myshuno.
The Old Salt House makeover.
I also have one of my Urbanite residences in this area.
Del Sol Valley needs lots between the starter homes and the mansions on the hill.
Moving on.
These girls will not be moving into the Old Salt House directly. They will be crammed into a house in Mirage Valley first.
PURE dance club is also moving to Del Sol Valley.
I will be updating it for Get Famous game play.
It's cool that they can get fame points for Get Together group dancing.
Monique can also earn some for playing her mixes at the DJ booth.
Melonie will be performing here as well.
I need to set up a club of sims who hangout here for the comedy acts.
When City Living came out, I was intrigued with GeekCon because it had CosPlayers.
I went out and collected a bunch of fun custom costumes for my sims and I built a special lot for them to hangout using Get Together game play. I really loved it.
It's a Cybercafe. Besides coffee and scones, sims can use computers, tablets, play arcade games, watch movies on the big screen, and kids can play void critters. In addition, it is a hangout for teens and young adults where they can show off their costumes for GeekCon.
I imagine that the owner of this business feels cosplayers are good for business, so he/she encourages and supports them.
When we got more information about Get Famous, I knew it would send my CosPlayers support lot over-the-top awesome.
The green-screen, the actor's marks, the wardrobe and make up objects, have expanded what I can do on this lot.
I even have access to special effects:
I now have access to a wide variety of costumes for my cosplay sims.
And they can act out scenes.
The initial intent for this lot was to simply dress up, socialize, and take pictures to hang on the walls at home.
But with Get Famous, they can do so much more.
I intend to bring the media objects into this.
They can have the drones record what they are doing here and then upload videos to share with their followers.
Of course they will be covering GeekCon when it happens.
So now Cosplay is a bigger deal in their lives.
Actors in the making.
I tried other options on the wardrobe platform...
But they were random options for regular clothing, not useful for CosPlay.
I was hoping for access to CAS. This will be useful in a clothing boutique however.
When I want to get specific with custom content, I can use the wardrobe closet.
Unfortunately the green-screen has size issues.
I scaled it down, but the image is still huge. I need to expand the lot.
"Yes, expand the lot, please."
I'll do more than that.
I am moving it. Del Sol Valley makes more sense than Windenburg for this lot.
Studio BPB has been moved to the Pinnacles to make room for my CosPlay lot.
I wasn't crazy about this public area behind the residence anyway, so it seems better suited for a community lot.
I added a back door for easy access to the rear area.
Liza?
You are little people, Cassandra.
Better luck next time.
My pirate cosplay crew are off to the cosplay lot.
Need cars, this is to far to travel by foot.
My lot gets more breathing room and room to expand if we get more content I can use in future packs.
The layout has improved overall.
This is still a cafe, so get your snack on.
I had to remove the theater in the old lot.
Now they can have it back.
And this is what I originally built the lot for.
I never imagined this.
Just something to play with.
Duel actor scenes tend to find random sims on the lot to play the part.
I'll just pretend the regular customers get to have fun with the cosplayers.
I had to see those laser swords, even it they were for the wrong costume.
These are the wrong swords too.
And when a celebrity shows up...in disguise...?
...they can get a nice picture for their celebrity wall.
I was inspired to take my Cybercafe even further after seeing one of the major sets in action at the film studio.
I moved my dance club from this location because I need the entire area of the lot to use the large green screen.
My dance club is now in this location, which makes more sense because of the parking lot.
I have VIPs coming to this club and the limousines adds to the lot.
Switcheroo!
Olivia gave out a coincidental gasp of surprise when she walked in.
Not only did I add a larger green screen, I put in one of the sets.
Let's test it out, ladies.
Out come the photosabers... photoswords...
Lightsabers! dang it.
Monique is acting out a death scene.
She looks like she has stage fright.
And... everyone drops their swords.
Funny!
Let's try that again.
Positions!
These two are going to fight from long distance.
It's a bug, but an interesting bug.
Alright, this looks good.
Awesome.
Weird,
but I don't mind.
Oops. More sword drops.
"These things are real?"
That kind of what it looks like.
Monique looks like she is checking for missing fingers.
I am impressed with the sets. I don't know if I will changed this one.
Maybe if I get bored with the lot. The Geek toy and collectable area is a bit weak, but it was just there for show and immersion.
The wardrobe and makeup objects are in this area.
I will probably also use it to randomize outfits when they go to the dance clubs down the street.
Olivia is simply having too much fun.
Let's take this tour upstairs.
I think I might make my theater area look more like a theater.
The cafe area is nicer with more space.
The old version was a bit messy, as far as routing goes.
I love that the back drops are animated.
You can see planes, birds, and smoke in motion.
I gave some of the computers a little more privacy.
Everyone is updating their social networks.
The old version had a rocket-ship out front, but the need for more space removed it.
GeekCon has one, so they can take space trips from there.
Meadow gives an impromptu performance.
It's wacky that music comes out of nowhere, but I like it.
It's so funny how Yuki is throwing Meadow so much hate.
Meadow did give her an unsolicited autographed photo the other night.
It left a bad impression, I guess.
I'm glad I left this open space.
I am going to miss this view that my VIP room used to have on top of the dance club .
The switch was for the best.
Hating hard, Yuki.
Hating hard.
I was a bit surprised that sims were passing out over Meadow, but she is nearly a 3 star celebrity now.
How is it that her sister is going gaga over someone who isn't Gaga?
Gosh it's almost 3 am.
I need to get back to regular game play.

Also, I here there is a nasty game bug where going into CAS ages your sim.
This all taken together means I won't being back to normal TS4 simming for a week or three.
I am just testing out things and getting my game back to shape.
Olivia, testing cat girl CC--cosplay CC is next.
More to come.
Love this lot though.
