Granite Falls! A perfect place to have a wedding! Look at how bright and sunny it is... absolutely not cold and chilly... um... oh look! Angel is already here!
And Cordelia made it! This is going to be the first time she meets Delaney - before she only talked with her on Skype.
Susan's family came too, of course... all very sleepy and gloomy because of the wonderful weather...
Except for Mila Munch, of course. She's always happy about everything. And she's soo excited for the wedding!
"Finally! Oh Susan honey, i never thought this day would come. What took you kids so long? You already have a kid of your own but your still not married yet- oh by the way, i wanted to ask, when are you planning to have another little baby, because you obviously can't stop on one..."
Delaney clearly doesn't like her great aunt.
Meanwhile, Connor was making grand breakfast for the whole family!
"Breakfast is ready!"
"Hey, aren't we missing someone?"
"Nope, i'm good staying away from you weirdos!" (Such a sweet child, isn't she?)
"Nah, we're definitely missing someone..."
Poor Gunther. Forever alone. He doesn't get along with anyone in the family except Angel.
"Come on and join us!"
"Grandpa? It's your turn to do the dishes because everyone else already left."
Huh, that actually worked...
Look at this. The whole family together. So sweet. (And i didn't even have to set this scene up, they automatically sat down together and began talking.)
The boys are obviously having an argument about whether they should get a DJ for the wedding or not...
Time slowly crept to noon. It was almost time to start.
The tables were already set with all kinds of delicious goods.
Including the wedding cake.
For some reason, everyone (lots of uninvited folks as well) went straight to the bar. (I find this very amusing lol.)
Except for Delaney. Angel was teaching her how to dance!
Nice moves, Angel...
The Appleton family got a professional wedding photoshoot.
After that, the wedding ceremony has finally begun... lets just take a moment to appreciate how adorable these two are.
It was time to eat the cake!
Delaney ate to many she actually got a bit sick. Someone's gonna have to meet the doctor.
It was getting very dark, which was only making things more romantic.
Everyone began to dance...
And then it was present time! YAY!
"Congratulations Susan! Oh and by the way... long time no see, huh?"
"Thanks, Cordelia! Don't i know it!"
"You cannot believe how happy i am for you two! We really should hang out more often- i mean, we are only 4000 miles apart, in what twisted universe we aren't able to manage seeing each other at least once a month?"
"Hey, i'm all for family bonding! Are you free next week?"
"Oh, i don't think so. Me and Angel are investigating a huge mystery and... But are you free next month?"
"No, i've got this thing..."
So much for family bonding.
At least they can have some now. (Yup, everyone slowly started changing in their cold wear completely ruining the wedding.)
"Connor! I'm so proud of you!"
Connor couldn't help but smile.
"Thanks", he replied and added, suddenly getting a bit tearful:
"I kinda miss you sometimes. Angel comes around more often..."
"Hey, don't get all weepy on me! It's your big day!"
Connor still couldn't help but tear up a bit. Cordelia was like a mother to him. Any kid misses his mom sometimes!
It was getting very, very late. Delaney was already fast asleep.
Connor and Susan had one more dance... And then it was time to wrap up, finish the last bits of the cake, clean up and hug everyone goodbye.
Few hours later they were already at the train station.
The train arrived and they walked in.
This time they bought tickets for sleeping compartments.
They were all so worn out by the wedding that they fell asleep almost instantly.
That was one incredible day they had... but it's time to get back to work.
So the wedding ended, but the parties certainly didn't. November with Bonfire Night came up! What does that mean? It's time to those burn leaves. (Oh yes, the Appleton's did successfully miss Halloween because of their Granite Falls trip.)
It was cold, it was also raining. Delaney loved it. She wasn't afraid of thunderstorms anymore.
"Okay Delaney, you better get inside if you don't wanna catch a cold!"
"Five more minutes daddy!"
"At least take your umbrella".
When the rain got a little more calming and a little less thunderstorm-y, the Bjergsen's came over for some marshmallows and hotdogs.
Delaney, Taylor and Tyler played in the leaves.
Also they had a very important meeting about their club house which they haven't visited in ages because Connor was still fixing its leaking roof.
The sun began to set, everything was pretty much going according to plan...
Suddenly, a fire began!
Everyone began to panic! Connor bravely grabbed the fire extinguisher and ran into the flames.
"Oh nooo, we're all gonna get burned!"
"Nobody's going to get burned! I'll put it out in just a sec, don't you worry- um- Susan? How do you use this thing?.."
"Oh! You press that thing- over there- no, the other one!"
Finally Connor managed to get the fire extinguisher to work.
"No harm done guys! Well, almost. Some of the logs burned to crisp, but we got those for free, so..."
It was getting very dark. Time to get out the sparklers!
And then it was time to rake some leaves and burn up all of the remaining piles.
The Bjergsen's decided to help out.
Even though they had a terrifying fire, everything still turned out good in the end. But it was time for the Bjergsen's to go.
Now they must get this little rascal in bed...
no matter what it takes...
"One more chapter, mommy!"
And enjoy the rest of the night together. A night they will definitely remember.
Fall in Windenburg. Lets just take a moment and appreciate how beautiful it is. All of the golden leaves laying on the ground...
Speaking of which, this is the one and only screenshot you'll ever see of someone raking leaves in this household. Leaf pathways look pretty. Leaf piles don't.
This guy is stalking the Appleton family for three days straight. The stray cat is obviously his secret agent.
Susan clearly thinks sleeping is unnecessary and a complete waist of time. Besides writing in her diary for three hours straight, this night she expirimented with different scents which made her flowers look all weird and glowy,
moved the family pictures to the dining area (because why not),
got out their recently framed wedding photos,
and also created this monster. Delaney was delighted to find a bunny instead of the boring bonsai tree when she woke up.
The morning went as usual. Connor and Susan fed the cows and then Connor was off to work since it was his turn.
"Have a good day at work, honey!"
After watering the plants, Susan decided to do something they haven't done in a long long while. Go on a playdate with the Bjergsens! Yay! (Did i mention that this story will probably be only interesting for people who enjoy adorable family screenshots and don't really mind that "oh by the way we're on part 24 and the main storyline hasn't even began"?)
Delaney and Taylor were having a blast destroying the carousel.
Susan and Clara talked about how they plan to celebrate upcoming Thanksgiving and made bets on whether little Cassidy Goth will or will not go down the slide.
After a hour of sabotaging the carousel, Taylor and Delaney went on the slide. Tyler ran after them, but changed his mind as soon as he climbed the stairs.
"It's too crowded here!" moaned Tyler.
Instead he made friends with one of the dads named Francis Doyle and convinced him that he doesn't have any parents and is actually an undercover ninja. What Doyle thought about that still remains a mystery, but that granny on the bench clearly fell for it.
Delaney ran off to play an interesting game she calls "Indians in a submarine".
"Come on, Tyler! We're sinking, we've gotta escape! The only way is to climb up!"
Tyler preferred staying underwater. He was scared of heights.
"Suit yourself... Gee, i wish i brought Oliver with me".
"Such a beautiful view!"
"Mooom! Taylor said i'll have to play as a fish or i'll drown because i didn't climb up!"
"Well Taylor has quite an imagination, honey".
"But mooom! I don't wanna play as a fish!"
"Seems like the kids are tired, time to go home. It was nice hanging out with you, Susan!"
Susan said goodbye and went to look for Delaney. It was getting quite late anyway.
But just as they began heading to the bus stop... Connor came! So they decided to go together to the local cafe instead which was an unexpected yet exciting surprise for Delaney.
"I love you so much daddy! And you too, mommy!" she exclaimed happily. "We are such a great family!"
Just in case anyone's wondering, my internet connection is acting quite weird since the beginning of August. That's why parts only come out once a week. But hopefully maybe in a few days it'll get better. Or worse. Who knows.
Part 25:
"Hello! My name is Delaney and this is my club house! Come on in!"
"Dad, you've got the camera rolling, right?"
"Yep".
"This- this- this is the first- um- first thing you see when you come in!"
"Before you go any further, you should say hi to mr. Bunnyhops!"
"Come on, follow me!"
"Welcome to the best club house on earth! Me, Taylor and Tyler decorated it all by ourselves! Well, mommy helped with something, and aunt Clara did too. Also daddy was the one who found the keys to our house but... But we did most of the work! Oh, that's uncle Bjorn with my best friend Tyler over there. He's acting stupid but that's okay... Dad, stop laughing, you're ruining the video!"
"Over here, dad!"
"These are our books!"
"And here are some of our toys!"
"I love the train. It's awesome!"
"Here is the kitchen where i cook".
"We've got all of the ingredients over here..."
"Hey Taylor, hey Tyler! Wave to the camera!"
"No, dad! Don't film them, film me!"
"Fine, fine, mrs. Smart Cheese".
"Don't call me that!"
This is my piano. Well, it's actually Taylor's, but she doesn't like it that much. Taylor has lots of other toys anyway".
"And this is the painting area".
"Here is our super comfy armchair".
"Me, Taylor and Tyler fit on it perfectly!"
"Come on, to the next room!"
"This is where our parents hang out".
"Now it's time for the best part of all..."
"The treasure trunk! It doesn't actually have any treasure, but this is where we keep all of our puppets for puppet shows."
"Well, that's it for the tour! Bye!"
"That turned out perfect, didn't it, dad?"
"Definitely".
Happy with the result, Delaney ran off to play with Tyler.
It was getting late...
After a while the kids got so worn out they fell asleep. Time to go home.
After putting the kids to bed, Bjorn and Connor decided to go hang out in town like they haven't done in a long time.
They played some chess and talked about their families.
"So how's life, Connor?"
"Pretty much the same every day. Except for holidays - those are more exhausting".
"I feel you. Don't worry - it'll get easier in a couple of years. Or harder. Depends on how you look at it".
"Interesting point of view".
"You should've really brought your jacket, Connor"...
"Well i was boiling hot when we were getting the children home, i had no idea it'd be so freezing in literally a hour... wait".
"Is it... snowing?"
Well. That's rather interesting.
"But tell me honestly, Connor. Do you enjoy your life?"
Connor thought for a moment.
Thanksgiving! The Appleton family spent all morning on harvesting their plants.
They were planning to go to the Harvest Festival later that day.
But unfortunately something went terribly wrong and it began to rain. So they decided to stay at home instead. (Sigh. All those hours of building the lot went for nothing.) Susan told Delaney the Thanksgiving story and tried to discuss what they can be thankful for.
"Mom, i'd be very thankful if you let me go play now!"
Kids.
But hey - at least they love the baking part.
"You've got something on your nose!"
Mommy and daddy can be so hilarious sometimes, though Delaney.
But baking cookies is one thing. Making a turkey is quite different.
At least because Connor wouldn't let anyone come near his masterpiece till it was completely finished.
One of Connors proud moments.
"Dinner is ready!"
And they ate.
Delaney mostly played though.
To finish off this wonderful Thanksgiving, the kitchen sink broke...
"We can fix that later, right..?"
Even though nothing went according to plan, it still turned out quite okay.
Well. This is probably the worst way to wake up on your birthday.
And Delaney created a mess.
Perfect.
On the other hand. Bjorn came over with his duckie umbrella to wish Connor a happy birthday, which was quite nice. Also he promoted him, which was even better. And brought in a huge microscope. As a promotion gift and also something he'll be needing for future work. Which was... okay? Good thing they have lots of empty rooms to place it.
So apparently toddlers gain emotion control real fast from listening to the kids station. Interesting.
But unfortunately the radio refused to cooperate and broke down. Delaney was not happy with this. Not happy at all.
"Daaad!"
"Delaney! Can't you see I'm trying to figure this... thing out?"
"But the radio broke down! Can you fix it pretty please, pretty please with sprinkles on top?"
"When will you guys realise that i'm not a handyman! I break, I don't fix", muttered Connor, while he was not only fixing the radio, but also upgrading it.
And also the tv, just in case.
Susan came from work.
She brought loads of ice cream with her!
Delaney never tried ice cream before.
Well, here it goes!
Processing...
processing...
"I love it!"
Connor was still trying to get the hang of things with his new machine.
"Happy birthday, honey! Oh, if you want some ice cream, you better come quick, because Delaney is about to eat it all!"
"I still don't get it. The microscope, it's just..."
"Hold on. I have an idea!"
Whatever that idea was, it really helped.
Later in the evening, Susan made a cake and they all got in their party wear to celebrate Connors birthday.
"Make a wish, daddy!"
"Good point. I wonder what i'll wish for..."
"Happy birthday!"
"What'd you wish for, daddy?"
"Well if i tell you it might not come true, right?"
They took the cake and the ice cream in the living room and watched a movie.
"No, no, you're going the wrong way!"
"Please don't tell me they went left. Why would any sane person in their situation go left?"
"I knew that would happen!"
"These characters are so stupid. Who directed this!?"
"Come on, it's just a movie!"
"Yeah. Just a movie".
"A nice movie. Just with stupid characters".
"Just like in real life".
After the movie ended, Connor read Delaney a bedtime story.
"And they all lived happily ever-"
"Daddy?" suddenly said Delaney. "D'you think summer could come back tomorrow?"
Connor didn't know how to reply.
"No, honey, i don't think so", he said gently.
"It wish it would", Delaney sighed. "I'm sick of the cold".
Connor was pretty sick of it too.
It has gotten awfully chilly these last few days...
Winter was coming.
(No, i do not watch Game of Thrones, thank you very much.)
"Mooom, i'm bored! We've been here for a whole hour!"
"Five more minutes, Delaney!"
"Your dad's haircut is almost done".
"How do i look?"
"Great! Let's go now!"
Such a lovely day!
Lets hope we'll get a snowy winter this year...
Yes. Winter has began. And the only way to escape the cold was to put on your biggest sweater and snuggle.
While watching a black and white movie. Because those are cozy. And also because you have no choice - no way you're going to turn that thermostat on and make the bills increase!
Winter also means Christmas. Which is why Delaney would wear reindeer antlers and never take them off.
Not even during the most exhausting games.
"You're being a good girl for Santa, right, Delaney? You know, he sees you when you're sleeping and he knows when you're awake! So you better be a good girl if you want any presents!"
"Oh no, mrs Bjergsen, Santa will give me presents anyway! And if he doesn't, i'll have daddy talk to him..."
Never mind the cold, Susan still continued making bouquets. She even sold one for 3000 simoleons!
Connor is officially in love with his new microscope. Just like everything in the house, he decided to upgrade it to a newer level.
Delaney realised that the colder it gets, the more delicious the ice cream gets.
And any sweets, as a matter of fact.
Even Susan and Connor agreed to this, by making more sugar cookies when they had Sheldon around to discuss remodelling their bedroom...
Even though it was cold and uncomfortable and no snow, Windenburg winter still had a kind of charm to it.
Especially the snuggling at the fireplace part of it...
@AlbaWaterhouse, thanks! I actually think she's one of the cutest toddlers i had
Part 30:
Building snowmans is all the Appleton's do these days.
The walls in the hallway were repainted in a different colour to give them a warmer look.
Also, the bedroom finally got a new look.
Christmas Eve was just around the corner when Susan suddenly realised they don't have enough Christmas decorations.
"What do you mean we don't have enough? We had loads!"
"Well they're not Christmas themed..."
"Darling. Does it really matter? We've just spent loads of simoleons on our bedroom and Christmas gifts..."
"We're going shopping? Yay!"
Pretty soon Susan and Delaney convinced Connor that A: he doesn't decide anything in this house and B: Christmas without Christmas decorations to bring in the Christmas spirit is not Christmas even the slightest bit. So after Susan came back from work, they went straight to the local Christmas store.
Which looked magical.
"Wow..."
Toys all around!
Dozens of delighted kids running around.
Adults picking out presents for their little ones.
"Mom! We've gotta get one of these!"
"Now, now, Delaney, don't forget, we're here for decorations, not presents!"
"Okay, mommy... Dad? Daddy, can we get the car?"
"Oooh..."
It's Santa!
"Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, little girl!"
"Hi, mr Santa!"
"Here's a present for you!"
"Thank you!"
(She got a block of clay. Toddlers can't even play with clay.)
"Uhm... yeah, we're not paying for that".
"Don't worry! It's a free gift from our company. Have a Merry Christmas!"
"Santa has a company! Isn't that neat, daddy?"
"Guess so. Come on, lets go look for a tree!"
"What do you think about this one?"
"I don't know, it kinda doesn't seem right to me..."
Finally, they found the perfect tree. Now it was time to go home.
"When i wake up the whole house will be in the Christmas spirit, right, mommy?"
"That is absolutely right. Me and daddy will make sure of it".
"Sweet dreams, princess!"
After putting Delaney to bed, Connor and Susan began decorating the Christmas tree.
Perfect.
Now it was time to decorate the rest of the house...
Christmas Eve! Delaney woke up to find a pleasant surprise - the whole room was decorated for the upcoming celebration.
She even got her very own tree!
Delaney rushed to the kitchen where Connor was making breakfast.
"Merry Christmas, dad!" shouted Delaney cheerfully as she handed him so reindeer antlers. To look more festive, that is.
"I've never been more humiliated in my life".
"Relax, you look fine! Pretty cute if i do say so myself..."
Delaney giggled. Daddy did look extremely hilarious.
After that she ran in the living room to check if the stocking were up.
Delaney was hoping to get a car for Christmas. or a big teddy bear. But none of the presents looked quite big enough to have those kinds of toys in them...
"I wish i could open them right now!" she whispered excitedly.
Around 8 AM the Appleton family sat and had breakfast, while discussing their plans for today. Since there was a huge snowstorm outside, it was decided to have a simple and quiet family Christmas at home.
All the cooking was on Connor. As always.
At least he enjoys it.
Probably too much though. Look at that belly! Someone must immediately start working out.
Meanwhile, Delaney and Susan were reading a Christmas story book.
Then it all turned in a game of tickling...
Connor wanted in the fun too.
"Grr, the tickle monster is gonna get you!"
"Not if i get him first!"
"No- that's against the rules-"
"Kids".
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door!
"Mom, dad, come on!"
"It's who i think it is, right?"
"Shh. Delaney, why don't you get the door?"
"Santa!"
"Merry Christmas!"
"Mommy, daddy, look! Santa came!"
"Come on in, Santa!"
Yes indeed, it was Santa. And he brought presents!
"Okay, your dad obviously had some practice, he can't be so good at this!"
"A present for me? Thanks da- Santa! Oooh, more cookbooks! Great! Everyone thinks i like cooking so much..."
"Okay, you better like this one- i had a very hard time picking it out- No, don't hold it like that! Carefully, carefully, it's very fragile!"
"Geez, Santa, i wonder what's in it?"
"Is she buying it?" whispered Connor as they watched how Santa helplessly tried to remember the names of all his reindeers for Delaney.
"I think she's buying it, don't you think she's buying it?.."
"Now tell me, Delaney, have you been a nice girl this year?"
"You really should ask that before you give the present, Santa".
"Wait a second..."
"You're not Santa!"
"Knew it".
"She's gonna be so disappointed she'll never trust us again".
"Fooled ya".
"You're better then Santa!"
"You're GRANDPA!
"Come here!"
"Grandpa's back, grandpa's back!"
"This is probably the most adorable thing i've ever seen".
"Mhm".
"Mo-om, da-ad, stop embarrassing me!"
So Santa turned out to be grandpa. A fair trade, or at least Delaney thought so. They watched a Christmas special together and had a little family photoshoot.
And then they ate dinner.
"So, Delaney, we've got some exciting news..."
"How would you like to spent New Year's with grandpa in San Myshuno?"
Of course, Delaney loved the idea.
And so did Angel.
"So are we gonna, like, stay up the whole night on New Year's?"
"You betcha!"
"Oh, i wish i could say how much i love you, grandpa!"
"And how much is that?"
"That's the thing, i don't know!"
"Oh look, a randomly appeared mistletoe!"
"Okay, Delaney, how about bedtime?"
"No!"
"Worth a shot..."
It took a long while to get Delaney to sleep.
"Lets play another game!"
Even those two were already in bed. Sort of.
"Okay, that's it. Off to bed, or the real Santa won't come".
"Once upon a time..."
"And they lived happily ever after. The end".
"Why do stories always end like that, grandpa?"
"Wish i knew".
"Maybe because we all want our stories to end like that. They never do, though", Angel said. He looked at Delaney: she seemed fast asleep. So Angel kissed her on the forehead and left the room.
Tomorrow was a very big day. The longest day of the year! The Summer Solstice. Thats why the carnival was coming to Windenburg and thats why all the kids were leaping in excitement!
"Oh mommy, i just wish tomorrow would come quicker!" squealed Delaney in the morning.
Connor went upstairs in the attic to find some decorations. To his surprise he found out that they have an overwhelmingly huge amount of flags, banners, lights and all that good stuff. A little bit from Susans family, a little bit from his family, a little bit from the previous owners family... all of that summed up in a pretty big pile of decorations.
Connor took the boxes and rushed downstairs to the girls.
"Look at all of this stuff!"
"Ready to rummage through?"
The first thing they found were these terrifying looking gnomes and a decor watering can.
Susan immediately took the watering can for her greenhouse, but the gnomes had to go! They were successfully sold that very day. (I'm very lucky when it comes to rolling the dice.)
After hours and hours the house started looking somewhat festive.
There was still a lot of time till tomorrow finally comes, so, since Delaney was insisting and insisting, they decided to come over to the Bjergsens. The parents were watching a movie and discussing business, pretty sure that the toddlers are have a good time upstairs...
Little did they know, that the toddlers decided to sneak outside and head on an adventure!
(Just pretend the lights are off, okay?? I have no idea why are they on.)
"Look! An old house!"
"Seems like nobody lives there. Its a nobodies house."
"Wait up, guys!"
"Then it will be my club house for Indians! Now will you join my tribe?"
"Oh wow, that house is so cooler then ours! I sure will!"
Meanwhile, the parents have notice the toddlers absence and headed off to find them...
"Look! That's my club house for Indians! Do you wanna join my tribe? Tyler already did!"
"Huh?! How can that be your house, thats a nobodies house! And- and- daddy said that wanting to be an Indian is stupid because that's just play-pretend and not a real job and-" (Btw i just love the look on her face.)
"Found them!"
"How could you run off like that? We were worried sick!"
"But da-ad! Look! We found a nobodies house and now it's mine!"
"Yes. Yes, i'm pretty sure someone lived there." softly replied Connor, picking her up. Susan smiled too.
"Come on. It's getting late, time to head home."
"Can i say goodbye to Diamond first?"
"Gee, i wish i could keep you all for myself."
Connor and Susan smiled. They both knew they can't afford having a dog just yet, but maybe some day...
"Come on, lie down kiddo, there's a big day ahead of us."
"I can't wait! I won't be able to sleep!"
And it certainly was going to be a big day tomorrow. The biggest one in the whole year, in fact.
Such a cute little family! I love seeing the kids grow up.
"Well someone's clearly an early bird!" noticed Angel and he stepped in the kitchen. "Don't you kids ever sleep in?"
"Chase woke me up", explained Delaney. "And then we played and played and couldn't stop... I wish i had a dog like Chase!"
"Well, he's all yours while your staying here! Now c'mon, it's breakfast time".
After breakfast Angel told Delaney to grab her coat: they were heading out. But where? Angel made a mysterious face and didn't say...
"Okay, you two better be home at six, or we'll be late for the restaurant!" reminded them Cordelia.
"I'll make sure grandpa doesn't forget", Delaney chuckled.
Angel and Delaney drove far far away, all across San Myshuno to a district where it actually did snow.
"Why can't you tell me where we are going, grandpa?"
"Because..."
"You wouldn't have made that adorable surprised face your doing right now".
A toy store!
"But grandpa, Christmas already passed!"
"I cheated the system, so it's staying for today. Now go pick out any toy you want!"
"Woopie!"
Delaney looked around: which toy to choose?
There was so many...
Perhaps too many for a little girl.
Suddenly, Delaney saw it.
The perfect toy.
"Can i have the horse?.."
"Sure thing!"
"Ooooh!" squealed Delaney in excitement.
"You're the best grandpa ever! You're the best friend ever! You're..."
"I think you're the best everyone ever", Delaney grinned at Angel cheerfully.
Angel smiled
"Anything for you, kiddo. Now come on - lets get some hot chocolate!"
They came to the cafe nearby,
They drank some hot chocolate and talked. Angel made funny jokes.
Delaney couldn't help but think she would be happy to stay for a little longer than just a couple of days.
"It's so huge! And look at those eyes! They're almost real..."
"See? I got her a horse!"
"I think you're having a midlife crisis again, Angel", noticed Cordelia, though she couldn't help but smile when she looked at Angels absolutely cheerful face.
"Now i'm like a real Indian", Delaney said proudly. "Taylor and Tyler will be so jealous!"
“Morning, master- now don’t give me that look, it’s not my fault your bedroom door is locked so the only way to get in is through the bathroom…”
“Hey, Jack! Be quiet, the little human is still sleeping”.
“Sure thing. Good news - i heard Cordelia saying that we’re going to the park today”.
“The park? Oh fun!”
The park definitely was going to be a lot of fun. And not only for the dogs!
“Okay, buddy, let’s practice your role over trick, okay?”
“It’s hilarious how you think you have control over me”.
“Role over! Come on, we’ve done this already. Role over!”
“Fine, just don't cry… humans are such puppies”.
Jack managed to go through all the obstacles without any mistakes.
“You’re so smart, Jack!” shouted Delaney.
“That he is”, smiled Cordelia and handed Jack a treat.
“Now sit! Sit!”
“Oh no… not this command… i keep forgetting wha does it mean… Hey little human! Help me out, maybe?”
“No, no, little human, don’t leave me!”
Delaney decided to check out how Chase is doing.
Chase was very concentrated. It was time to face his biggest fear.
The smallest ring.
“Go on, Chase!”
“Yeahh…”
“I think we’ll play it safe”.
“Woopie!”
“He always does that!” explained Angel to Delaney. “Every single time he missed the smallest ring on purpose and i don’t get why”.
Chase continued the obstacles without any more mistakes.
“Way to go, Chase!”
“No problem, little human”.
“You’re doing it, Chase! You made only a single mistake! Soon you shall master these obstacles just like me!”
“Oooh yeah. I’m the king of the world”.
“Good job, buddy”.
“Good job, Chasey!”
Now Chase felt very confident about himself.
So confident, he didn’t flee in terror when this huge creature approached him.
“Why hello there, pretty lady…”
“Perhaps you would like to play ball with me?”
“Hey you! Leave Chase alone!”
“Forgive her… she’s just a little human, she does not understand what we have…”
“Chase! What are you doing? We promised each other to never get involved in relationships again!”
“I see you’re jealous of me, Jack…”
"Remember what happened last time, Chase!"
"I don't care about last time. This is real".
Perhaps it was, but the gorgeous huge dog got called by her master.
And just like that, she was gone.
While Chase sobbed over her absence, Jack suggested Angel to play fetch.
“I’ll catch it, I’ll catch it, I’ll ca”
“I got it!”
“Good job, Jack!”
“Let’s play again!”
“You okay, man?”
“Shut up, I’m in pain”.
“This is why we do not to get in relationships, not ever. They do nothing but destroy our friendship”.
“Meh… I know… especially when puppies come along and you feel all left out because your best friend is too busy parenting…”
Chase stood up.
“I apologise for my mistake. It won't happen again”.
“Apology accepted”. (ok this whole story wasn't planned but these screenshots i took were literally asking for it to happen)
“Weeee! I’m gonna catch you!” screamed Delaney, running after pigeons.
“Won’t you help me catch them, Jack?”
“You want me to run around those stupid birds? Why would i do that?”
“I don’t think he quite understand you, Delaney”.
“Yeah. He’s a bit stupid”.
“Everyone always underestimates me…”
They figured it was time to go home. Delaney was getting cold and the dogs were hungry…
“You know, when I said Jack is a bit stupid i really did mean only a little bit”, told Delaney to Angel as they drank hot chocolate.
“Really?” Angel smiled a little absently.
“Oh yes! I think Chase and Jack are the smartest dogs in the whole wide world I think if we’d listen very very closely, we could actually understand what they’re saying…”
"...The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws but Max stepped into his private boat and waves good-bye..."
"Max is stupid", responded Delaney. "He leaves a magic island just for dinner. He's not a real wild thing".
"Oh yeah?" Angel laughed. "So who's the king of all wild things then?"
"ME!" said Delaney proudly. "Except i'm a queen! Wild things don't need kings. Kings are stupid because they're boys. Boys are stupid and that's why Tyler's stupid".
"You don't look wild to me..."
"You wish!" shouted Delaney and jumped right on him. "Not wild?"
"Well, guess i was wrong when i thought you were smarter then this..."
"HEY! I am smart!"
"Do smart people jump on their grandparents?"
"Oh yes they do!" yelled Delaney.
"Whatever you say!" laughed Angel. "Okay, queen of wild things, now how about we-"
"Hey guys, your flight is in three hours, we better get packing..."
Neither Delaney, nor Angel felt like playing anymore.
"Grandpa..? I don't want to leave you", whispered Delaney, sounding genuinely worried.
"Me neither", replied Angel softly. "But it's time to go".
At least they still had a whole seven hours together on the plane.
They didn't sleep. They just talked, and talked, and read books, because books is what Delaney loves best.
Delaney couldn't help but think that she'd love to stay with Angel for longer. Perhaps much, much longer.
Angel felt the same way.
At 6 AM the plane landed and they left the airport.
It took two more hours to get to the outskirts of Windenburg where the Apple Farm was located.
Connor already left for work so it was Susan who greeted Delaney.
"Oh, honey, you cannot believe how much i missed you!"
"You sure you don't wanna stay?"
"Nah", Angel tried to smile as he dropped the luggage with Delaney's clothes and new toys. "I'm good".
So he left.
But Delaney couldn't just watch him go.
"Wait! Grandpa, wait!"
"I don't want you to go, i don't want you to go!" whimpered Delaney. Angel sighed.
"I know, i know", said Angel gently. "I'll try to visit you as soon as possible. Now please- cheer up and be a good girl, alright?"
"I guess", muttered Delaney.
And he left.
For good.
Delaney couldn't cheer up.
Even mom couldn't help.
Suddenly, mom got an idea.
"I know you're sad because you miss grandpa", she said with a smile. "But don't worry! Grandpa will come back very soon, and before that happens... trust me, you're going to have lot's of fun. Come on, I've got someone you should meet".
"Say hello to your new baby brother!"
"Or even better..."
"Two baby brothers!"
"Matthew and Micheal! Aren't they precious?"
"Oh boy..."
Okay, so i'm joining the 50000 words marathon (basically you've got one month to write a book that contains at least 50000 words. Besides that every day you share with everyone else how much words you've wrote, show off the best pieces, give out tips, etc. It's very fun), so i'll have to take a break from the Sims. See you guys in November!
Valentines day. The perfect day to start loosing weight, huh, Connor?
Well Delaney obviously thinks so.
"So, dad, does Valentines day mean that both you and mom will leave the house? Does that mean I get to stay with Matthew and Micheal all alone?"
Let's hope this isn't some mischievous plan to get rid of the twins.
It failed anyway since Connor told Delaney that uncle Bjorn is coming over with Taylor and Tyler to babysit them.
"That's no good", muttered Delaney.
At least she'll get to make Taylor and Tyler super jealous of her toy horse, so there's a plus!
Yep, managing three kids at once is hard.
But Connor makes a great stay-at-home dad.
"Or so he thinks", notices Delaney.
And mom is finally back from work!
Time to go to that cinema.
The movie turned out to be quite boring.
But that's not the point, right?
And for a wonderful dinner at the cafe!
Someone's even playing some romantic melodies.
Overall it was a good date.
A very good date for someone with three kids and no social life whatsoever.
"We should do this more often".
Time to save Bjorn from five little rascals, but first...
"Hey look, what's over there?"
"Tricked ya!"
"Oh I'll show you-"
"Hey! Now that's no fair!.."
"Hi there! Daddy missed you so much!"
"Who's my little boy... Hope they weren't any problem, Bjorn!"
"Oh, they were the least of my problems. Can't say it wasn't fun though. We chased a couple of rats in the attic and nearly took down the entire second floor playing tag. Aren't you kids ever gonna fix this house up? Just wait till your twins start walking - It'll shatter to bits in a moment!"
"Anyhow, it's time for us to get going".
"No, not yet!"
"We're having so much fun!"
"Can't we have a sleepover? Please please please?"
"I don't think so, Delaney", Connor shrugged. "You'll make a lot of noise and the twins really need to get some sleep".
"Did I mention how evil these things are?" muttered Delaney angrily. "Why should they sleep? They sleep all day long!"
Daddy kindly explained that at this time of the night all the little boys and girls should be asleep, including the twins.
He clearly had no idea about this little boy who wasn't even close to getting in bed.
"Look, daddy!" said the little boy excitedly. "I finished the puzzle!"
"I'd be surprised if you didn't! I've never met a child smarter than you, Vincent".
Vincent smiled proudly.
"So, are we settling down with our business in Windenburg?"
"Well why not? Good town, great people. The only thing we need is a property in the countryside..."
"I'll check on an old friend of mine to solve that problem".
Wow. Haven't been here in a while. Well... better late then never I guess.
I just want to inform anyone still waiting for the next part that I wont be continuing this thread. I lost my game. For some reason The Sims 4 decided to glitch out on me and wipe everything clean. The saves, the mods, the gallery - everything. Just as soon as Delaney was supposed to age up and the main storyline was gonna get rolling. The realisation that I'll have to start all over from scratch got me very discouraged and for months I couldn't even turn on the sims. This save had literally all my sims progression - my first legacy family with five generations, my Sunnydale town built from scratch in Willow Creek and tons, TONS of families with huge backgrounds. Two years of my simming life just gone.
This was an incredibly fun ride, letting people know how I play and getting feedback on it but even though I recently started creating a new mod pack and save file I wont be recreating this family. Really sorry it had to end this way.
Thank you all for this journey.

The wedding venue! Look at it! So beautiful.
The tables were already set with all kinds of delicious goods.
Including the wedding cake.
The stray cat is obviously his secret agent.
moved the family pictures to the dining area (because why not),
got out their recently framed wedding photos,
and also created this monster.
And indeed, they are.
Part 25:
"Hello! My name is Delaney and this is my club house! Come on in!"
"Dad, you've got the camera rolling, right?"
"Yep".
"Yeah", he said. "I think i do".

Perfect.
Seems like only the poor ducks didn't think so.
Well Delaney clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
When she looked outside the window she saw something quite peculiar...
Snow!
"Wow..."
Delaney ran in the kitchen where her parents were eating breakfast.
"Mommy! Daddy! Snow!"
"Honey, i get all the excitement, but maybe you shouldn't run out without your jacket even if it's only to check on the plants, hmm?"
Within hours, the windows were frosted completely. (Which where i live happens only to old windows from 30+ years ago but sure.)
This was Delany's first snow ever.
"How do you like the snow, sweetie?"
"It's very... fluffy".
"I love it!"
"It's so soft!"
"Look! Footsteps!"
The Appleton family decided to spend the day at the park.
"Look at that tree, Oliver!"
"It's so big!"
"We need a tree like that at home, Oliver".
Of course, the best part of snow is building a snowman with your dad.
And then giving it the most hideous look ever.
Susan is having fun making snow angels...
Delaney loves the decorative deers!
Time for an afternoon snack.
Hello, mr cat...
Ice cream in winter - what could possibly be better.
Time for a little bit of skating under the stars.
Ouch.
Well someone's gotten in the Christmas spirit...
"Place your bets, kids!"
The sun went down, but no one was heading home just yet.
"This is magical".
"Winter is always magical".
"Don't mind me, i'm just a randomly generated kid who totally couldn't find a better spot to make a snow angel..."
All my creations are CC free.
Part 30:
Building snowmans is all the Appleton's do these days.
As soon as he left, Delaney got up.
"Santa shouldn't eat so many cookies anyway".
"Da-ad! Wake up, dad!"
"No... not yet... go away..."
"But dad, it's Christmas day! Let's go open the presents, NOW!"
"Okay", Connor smiled. "Let's go open the presents."
Susan went first! She got a...
Fish. At least they can sell it.
Angel got an easel. Wonder how that fit in such a tiny box.
Connor got a painting. Nice!
And finally, Delaney got a bunch of books which she was very happy about.
Then they had breakfast...
And then it was time to go.
"You'll take good care of her, right, dad? But don't go over the top. Or maybe this was a bad idea, how about we wait a couple of months..."
"Calm down, Connor. I know how to handle kids. Isn't that right, my little princess?"
"Yes, yes!"
"You know, grandpa, we should get some ice cream while we wait for our flight".
"I was thinking the exact same thing!"
"They'll be fine, Connor".
"I guess..."
The plane took off, Angel and Delaney got seven hours to kill.
"We're going to San Myshuno, Oliver! Isn't that neat?"
A business class lunch - now that's neat.
Delaney made friends with Eliza Pancakes.
Time to go!
Hello, San Myshuno.
Such a cute little family! I love seeing the kids grow up.
Part 33:
San Myshuno looked very different to Windenburg. But Delaney liked it.
"Does it ever snow here, grandpa?"
"There may have been that one time on Christmas eve".
"Wow, you sure have a big house!"
"Well, i do share it with a couple of other people..."
"Hi, Cordelia!"
"Huh..?"
Yep. When Connor moved out Angel found himself to be quite a dog person.
He didn't even stop on one.
"I hope you're okay with dogs..."
Of course Delaney was okay with dogs.
Delaney loved dogs!
"Hey, Jack, where'd this little human come from and why is it so cuddly?"
"I don't know, Chase, but i'm certainly enjoying it!"
Angel, Cordelia and Delaney went to the living room to catch up on some things and discuss their plans for the upcoming days.
"Oh, by the way, you see that pile of presents under the tree?"
"Yes, yes, yes!"
"Those are for you! Go on open them!"
A big teddy bear and a bunny. Just what Delaney secretly wished for.
And also a snowflake necklace.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Always welcome, kid. Always welcome".
"Alright, quit playing around, it's time for dinner and bedtime. Both of you. Unless you wanna look like sleepy vampires on New Years."
Delaney never had pizza before. It looked intriguing and mysterious.
"Daddy never cooks anything like this..."
"You don't cook pizza, you order it".
"Huh..."
"I like ordered food".
Angel and Cordelia prepared a bed for Delaney in Connors old room.
Smart Chase came over just in case she would be nervous to sleep alone.
Soon they were both asleep.
"You should do that more often, Angel".
"What?"
"Smile. I'm glad Delaney is around to make sure you do that".
"So", Jack crept from behind, waking Chase up. "Seems like the little human is staying".
"That's good", replied Chase. "I like her".
"So do i. I think she likes us too".
"We'll keep her safe".
"Yes. We definitely will".
Part 34:
"Well someone's clearly an early bird!" noticed Angel and he stepped in the kitchen. "Don't you kids ever sleep in?"
"Chase woke me up", explained Delaney. "And then we played and played and couldn't stop... I wish i had a dog like Chase!"
"Well, he's all yours while your staying here! Now c'mon, it's breakfast time".
After breakfast Angel told Delaney to grab her coat: they were heading out. But where? Angel made a mysterious face and didn't say...
Part 35:
Angel, Cordelia and Delaney headed to the fanciest restaurant of San Myshuno where they met up with another family.
Meet Netty Kemper,
Francis Doyle Kemper,
and little Sunny Kemper.
Angel's and Cordelia's (mostly Cordelia's since Angel isn't a very friendly type of person) friends.
"Hi! I'm Delaney!"
"I'm Sunny!"
Looks like someone made a new friend.
The food was served...
Delaney decided that this absolutely scrumptious ice cream is the best thing she ever tasted.
They spent a whole hour talking, joking, making resolutions. And then it was time for the countdown to midnight. And finally...
"Happy New Year!"
"Happy New Year!"
"A toast!"
"Well, another year passed by, that's unfortunate!"
"I think i'll miss it a lot..."
"Lets dance!"
"O-okay!"
"Grandpa?" asked Delaney shyly. "I don't really know how to dance..."
Angel smiled.
"Me neither. Wanna figure it out together?"
Dancing turned out not to be as hard as Delaney originally thought. Especially when your partner has no idea what's he doing.
"Oh grandpa, i wish this night would never end!" squealed Delaney in excitement.
"Look!" she suddenly yelled. "Fireworks!"
"Yep!" Angel lifted Delaney and placed her on his shoulders. "The best part of New Years, don't you think?"
Indeed, it was. Fireworks in San Myshuno looked magical...
"What's up with all of the loud thunder, Jack?"
"Beats me".
“Morning, Chase!”
“The park? Oh fun!”
Part 38:
"There used to be good times. Times when there was just me, mommy and daddy. A perfect family of three".
"Now we have Matthew and Micheal. So that makes five. Which isn't perfect at all".
"I mean... look at it! It's clearly evil!"
"But then it just starts to cry".
"Mommy rushes in to make it stop. She always asks me what happened".
"I didn't do anything!"
"Then daddy comes in and asks the same thing".
"Why won't you just believe me!?"
"Whatever".
"I'll teach you a lesson!"
"Nothing to see here, mommy, go have fun with your new kids!"
"Uh oh. Mommy looks very angry".
"No more ice cream? But I love ice cream!"
"Now I'm getting punished".
"This is a disaster".
"What if they don't want me anymore?"
"What if they won't take care of me anymore? They don't have time for that, they have new babies to handle..."
"I wanna be the baby!"
"I wanna go back to grandpa!"
"I used to be the baby when I lived with grandpa..."
"Daddy. Matthew and Micheal are evil and they want to make you get rid of me. I figured it out!"
"Huh?.. Okay, Delaney, how about you wait for a couple of minutes and then we'll talk about this..."
"Whoops! Hold on".
"Never mind".
"No, wait- Delaney?"
"She's pretty worn out, I gave her some dinner and sent to bed. God these twins are exhausting!"
"I miss the old days. Now all I have is pictures of them".
"At least you'll always be there for me, Oliver..."
"Mommy and daddy seem to enjoy their new life though. Mommy says they're life is challenging, but fun".
"Daddy says he couldn't have said it better himself".
"And so the challenge goes on..."
"Urrrgh! Do these things ever shut up!?"
