The Sims 3 generations, eras, ancestors

I'm not going to repeat all that i've said, or go into great detail because I talked about it in another post, but i'll just sum it up in case I posted my thing in the wrong forum.

- what era you choose to start your sim in that way nothing stays the same, nothings frozen in time, and history is always changing just as your sims are (eventually old buildings, new buildings, old cars, new cars, etc.) (choose the old west to the jetson age of flying cars) and you can see when your sim is born and died. That way you can choose to be apart of the old west and make your own business, farm, saloon. ( without the slavery or racial stuff of course.) Many people have different themes they do in the game. Maybe you have an Al Capone theme you want to do so the time period, everything would fit. Then maybe as time continues forward it gives you a little reminder that the year is about to change.

- things need to get old and age, dusty, wood needs to get old (especially if its going to be exposed to weather), rot, paint needs to fade and chip. Time needs show on buildings and houses.

- fires need to be more realistic like actual fires none of this neat pile of ash on the floor stuff. Charred walls and furniture, burnt rubble.

- funerals, open caskets

- banks, choose to put your money in the bank or not

- Does your sim have a will and testament? who gets what?

- I'm not to fond of the angle when you go downtown its in a permanent birds eye view angle, and I don't like that. I like the angle you have when you get to build your house thats the angle I want regardless of where i'm at.

- better realistic ghosts and hauntings ( the developers need to research on this more to make it real, and never the same thing either it should be unique and different every time. ghosts need to be just like they are in real life, put that scary creepy, mysteriousness into the game)

- weather, rain, snow, wind

- better crime jobs like mobsters (sopranos, Capone)

- Weapons maybe you want to protect your sim and your property. To have weapons you don't need to change the rating of the game because we wont see blood or gore, same with knives and swords. We wont see blood or guts. So its alright.
But i'd like to target practice on my furniture..There should be a section for weapons (ex. colt revolver if your in the old west) Some people may not agree with it thats fine, but lets have a section in our buy catalog for weapons for our sims. Lets have the option open for us because I know in several posts many people have wanted this and I agree.

- Be able to walk from place to place with the weapon in your hand

- as time goes on the objects to buy in your inventory get updated with new stuff so if your in the flying car age then you might have a lazer gun in the catalog. If you want any old antiques, well then an antique shop will have all that for you.

- A sim doesn't pay their bills then you get your electric, water turned off, and then you get evicted from your home.

- If i have my own business like a saloon I should be able to customize the make and style of the sign as well as the lettering.

- If its the old west I want to be able to build my business from the ground up the way i choose, and have the option of living there as well.

- be able to serve whiskey, gin, wine.

Now combine that with World adventures maybe your ancestors move to Riverview over 100 years ago from China to settle. Maybe different towns have different things like gold, oil, silver, things for your sims to lust after and dream of becoming rich.

I hope the developers read this and take in consideration for what i've said. The game always needs improvement.

    - Indians and tee pees for the old west.

    - have your own plantations, grow your own crops have your own farms, raise cattle.

    - carpets should start to show wear and stains over time.

    - vacuum cleaners, maybe also a vacuum cleaner that makes your floor look new again and gets the stains right out. a regular vacuum cleaner, and another different one called the super vac.

    - closets to hang coats and store away things.

    - home repairs, after time your house might start showing signs of aging and start falling apart so call someone to remodel and keep it looking pretty. (or do it yourself if your sim wants to save money)

    - air conditioning, thermostats

    - record players, be able to go to a record store and buy records, and i know in the Sims 2 they had real music that I always hear on the radio playing, but some how they took that music and made the words simish and that was really cool they could do that with the Beatles. Then after a while see record players go away and hello to the CD player, and CDs.

    - for the radios if its the 30s or 40s i don't want to turn on my radio and hear 80s techno rock and things that weren't around in that period.

    - open up windows, see curtains and drapes blow because if the wind.

I bet they can do a whole Sims 3 game about ghosts since that area is full of mystery. Bring in mediums and people who are parapsychologist. Why is your home haunted? maybe we will never know in the Sims, who died perhaps someone did at one point, and then perhaps no records exist of anyone passing away on the property. Whats fun is the mystery of it all. Half the time ghosts aren't seen but heard more often, and usually its when your not expecting it at all, and then when yuor least expecting it you might see a full body apparition. The developers look into it, do the research your going to have some pretty scary, creepy homes in the game, and as i said before things don't just happen at 12 am, but should happen any time of the day randomly.

I believe in the Sims 3 you can choose to make your sim a gambler. Well maybe in the old western days you can set up your own gambling ring at your saloon, take other sims money. Have poker, cards, as well as your usual drinks at a saloon, whiskey, gin,. Whatever they did for gambling in those days. Same for all the mob guys.

education wasn't regarded as being as important in the old western times as it is today unless you were planning on being a lawyer or doctor, and if you lived on a plantation with very people for miles your kids weren't going to school. I take it most kids probably just learned as you went and grew, but i'm not 100% sure on the education system for those days. Books were your education. The developers would have to look into that one.

i'd love some kind of History Addon. i'm totally into the th century so i'd love:

    - long dresses with empire-waist

    - Barock, Rokoko, medieval fashion and also the 20th century: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s!!!

    - better hairstyles (male and female) like: barock and rokoko hairstyles, bonnets (!), up-dos, turn of the century hairstyles, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s.
because, honsetly, i find the hairstyles int he game simply ugly.

    - more means of transportation like: different kinds of carriages, old cars,.....any more suggestions?

    - more musical instruments: piano, cello, harp, violin, clarinette,...more suggestions?

    - more jewellery and (very important!) ALL kinds of piercings (at least nostril, septum, bridge, upper- and lower lip, belly button,......

    you agree with me?

I do agree It gives a whole new meaning for generations and ancestry for your Sims. It actually lets us see how much time has passed, how much has changed in the Sim world, and how much is going to change in the Sim world over the years, and it lets there be a future and a past instead of everything being the same from age to age. Gives people more of an option to let their imagination run wild with creativity, and do different themes if you so choose to.

I mostly agree, although I think some of the things you request would be too difficult to implement. Things like making objects get worn or dirty would take an awful lot of programming for something that would be an annoyance to most folks.

What I think would be ideal is an EP with 5 Eras included (say Ancient Greco-Roman/ Egyptian, Medieval, Victorian, Current Day & Futuristic) with the option to create your own Eras simply by making a folder and filling it with clothes, buildings, etc. That way you could add an Old West era if you liked, while someone else might not want to. Each Era would have the same jobs with the same requirements, only the titles and job text would change (the Science Career could be the Wizard career or Soothsayer career or something). Well, the job outfits would change, too, obviously.

Just like with seasons you can set the length of each Era and their order - so if you wanted to play in one Era all the time, you could. Or if you wanted to play the appocalypse challenge, you could start in Mosern Day, then switch to Medieval, then Victorian, then Ancient, the Futuristic if you wanted.

I disagree with the whole weapons thing - I'd leave that to the CC makers. Adding weapons, even without them being usable, would change the game rating, and worse the whole tone of the game.

    .

a Science career would mostly likely be called Alchemist career. I liked most of the ideas but No weapons and no mobsters.

Plantation owners mostly had governess or tutors home-schooling the kids. That goes the same for people in the Tudor time and in Victorian times (well Girls were home-schooled at home in Victorian times if they were in a middle or upper class family, boys were sent to school) and remember there weren't a lot of jobs for females in history since if they did get a job they were excepted to give it up when they married. So a lot of people might disagree with that since it would be discrimination against females to do that in a game.

We should have weapons regardless because i know its been in debate for years and people say yes, people say no, but I think we just need to once and for all. And no it wouldn't change the rating of the game to have a weapon. Its only when we see blood and guts and gore then it would have to be change to M otherwise its up to par with the rating. If you don't want a weapon then don't choose to that's all i'm saying. Your sims never bleed anyway, and we're not going to see any blood of any type. So i want a colt 45 then I should be free to have one. I've seen weapons in the game before that weren't usable and the rating is the same.

Its just a game so being in the old west is a good idea, but thats why its a game you can do whatever you want there's no discrimination here at all.

I just thought people would care to have a game that was more realistic that didn't limit your options. To have things get old in the game will be more realistic. Whats a few home repairs? get someone else to do it for you? its not that bad.

weapons could be a confirmation of age thing, so that the middle schoolers playing sims cannot get weapons into their games.

    LOVE all the ideas ...

Guns aren't toys so kids in the game shouldn't fire a weapon unless its target practice on an open range and with an adult sim present.

Maybe a weapons on or off option somewhere in the game. Perhaps in create a sim. Phases out the weapons section in your catalog, and makes other sims not have it. Because not everyone is going to agree with it, and then some out there will want it. That way if you don't want it you don't have to deal with it for your sims or other sims. That way it benefits all both ways. Choose to play in a weapons free environment or not it should be up to you how you play your own game. Your creativity can't be limited. I'm not talking about creating a GTA style game here. No blood, limbs being ripped off.

You can do tricks with guns like they use to do, wow people. Be like an Annie Oakley type of sim. Build up your shooting skill to be a good shooter.

Perhaps in the old west other Sims might challenge you to a duo?

They could one day come out with a Sims 3 game that focuses on murder and forensics. Call it Sims 3 Murder Mysteries. Of course it would have to be up with the rating so you couldn't show blood or anything. Have that be a new career job become a forensic scientist. But thats just my idea. Show the crime tape at the crime scene, maybe the chalk outline of the body.

Perhaps the only way you would ever see weapons is they come out with the game and later on they come out with a new down loadable app or something, or a separate disc with objects in it. That way the game is already out thats rated Teen so whatever download comes later wont effect the rating of the game because that would be bought and paid for separately. Just my idea. Leaves the game the way it is originally.

I cant see the Ages thing being put in at this stage . im pretty sure something of that nature would of had to be built into the engine during development .

The Eras and stuff sound quite interesting, but the likely hood of any weapons even for display would most likely not be in un less it's CC. (Like some gun in Sims 2). 'Cause if they were gona add some weapons or anything, they would of probaly included something as non-lethal as a staff or something in Martial Arts for WA. Either way they would have to change the rating slightly, maybe not to M but on the Rated T part it'd have to list violence or something with guns. And well even if you don't kill anyone with them, it'd still might give people the wrong idea.

But you do have to admit eras would be pretty cool get all the clothes, objects, I don't see why they couldn't figure out a way to do it. Possibly build a few eras at a time and then keep adding on to it like with the new towns. I mostly just want to see different eras i've always wanted to do this in the game.

A new career that offers you to be an investigator. Investigate mysterious things.
Like a Sherlock Holmes type of Sim. Sherlock Holmes never used a gun that i know of. He was only armed with a magnifying glass. Call it sims Clue or something. Maybe theres a way to that without changing the rating of the game. At least have some mystery in the Sims. Maybe he investigates paranormal things. How is it a whole family just up and left from their home? will we never know the full truth? This is where murder mysteries could be good for the sims, but that would change the rating. I'd agree to have a clue game type Sims.

I think in my own opinion they need to take away the car pool. You want to car pool? call a friend or co-worker to say lets car pool, but sims have their own cars now. Thats just me.

I do wonder about one thing our sims town has everything except a church. Perhaps your not a religious person, but maybe your sim could be. Go to church every Sunday. I thought I looked on the back of a sims game and saw a Christmas tree, and that gave me a good idea have your sims celebrate Christmas, Halloween, have kids come to your door asking for candy. Maybe Thanksgiving? that buffet table can come in handy...lol
