Babies are technically objects in the Sims 4 so I wonder what can the game coding even allow sims to do with them.

I'm sure they can add things

See, that's the problem. Babies only last three days before they age up. All the good baby stuff is a part of toddlers anyway. So what could be done with babies? Different blanket colors? Rocking the baby to sleep (if we ever get rocking chairs and rocking)? Adding a changing table to change the baby on? One of those small floor pads that have that arch thingy over it with dangling thingies dangling for the baby to play with? Or maybe, while on the floor pad, the baby rolls over and Mommy and Daddy celebrate the accomplishment. Huzzah! Or one of those ugly flowers on a head band that people seem to love to put on their babies bald brain box? Bring back babies burping? Big black rubber baby buggy bumpers.........sorry.

    I would like that

I usually age up babies right away. Other than having them unshackled from the crib, I'm not sure what else they can do to make them more interesting tbh.

My preference would be a focus on elders for sure.

taking them for walks giving them baths teaching them to walk letting them play with toys making them look better giving them hair

Meh, that doesn't sound very interesting to me. I'd much rather they implement two sims going for a walk together before pushing a baby around. The other stuff is pretty much toddler gameplay.

pretty much is the key word there its only pretty much because it's not you can't teach toddlers to walk you can't take them for walks and poor babies can't do anything and they really need a makeover

Since TS4's babies have the characteristics of newborns (by necessity), they shouldn't be learning to walk (or doing much else of interest, really). So I wouldn't want that as a feature of their life stage

And I don't see what's so exciting about walking a baby around the neighborhood. That's not a worthwhile gameplay addition to me. It would be like jogging, except slower and more dull.

The improvement I would love to see in the Sims 4 is babies cause it would be cool to create them directly from cas and to have options to change hair, clothes, skin tone, eye color and whatever else you could change to make babies unique in the Sims 4.

right now elders can't even react when there daughter is in labor and you know they'd show off the baby in the park and take pictures of the baby

I would also like baby showers and elders need interactions just for them and a casino
and Cains for some and more clothing as well as rocking chairs and knitting and soup making and
they could knit hats for the babies and booties and for kids those ugly sweaters no one wants to wear

I voted for elders. I feel they could focus on retirement leisure activities (hobbies like knitting, sewing or golf) and more clothes in older/vintage styles that some older people might prefer to current fashion.

Maybe Day Centres for a way to make new friends and find new hobbies, or a proper Retirement Village for those elders that have passed the house onto the kids but are still active enough to enjoy a busy life.

Maybe some kind of co-mentoring/befriending scheme which teen and elder sims can sign up to, like Adopt-a-Grandparent - Choose a mentor with similar traits for life advice, or one who was in a career you want to follow etc.

what game play would you like for elders @So_Money

Firstly, if I had my way I'd split elders into two separate life stages. But since that isn't likely to happen:

    - retirement homes that function a lot like University has in past games.
    - deeper connections between grandparents/grandchildren and family members in general. I've had grandparents die in the game and no one seems to care.

Those two are the big ones. But also:

    - babysitting/house-sitting grandparents
    - care-workers/assisted living
    - golf
    - ballroom dancing
    - cruises
    - bridge (or any card games, really)
    - random visits by grandparents
    - newspapers
    - a lot more old-fashioned stuff
    - walkers/wheelchairs/canes
    - bake sales
    - farmers markets
    - lawnmowers/mowing the lawn (elders' fun need should increase from this :))

Granted there are some of these that shouldn't be exclusive to elders, but they all fit thematically into an elder-focused pack.

I really like your ideas but I think walkers and wheelchairs would take to much animation and the houses would have to be made around wheelchairs and ramps would have to be put in base game as well
I would really like it if grandparents could pop in every now and then to see there kids news papers are a must a lot of older people don't use the internet that much some do but a lot don't ballroom dancing I want this so bad

them not being able to react when there daughter is in labor is one that really bugs me to no end I mean that one of the times when you really want your mom and dad oh they might be working on the dying thing as well @So_Money :)

As much as I want teen specific content had I been able to vote it would of easily went to babies who were shafted in the base game and have not been updated since. Now that they have worked out the carrying mechanic with toddlers babies should be a lot easier to implement they could easily make babies the best in any Sims series maybe even give them the ability to crawl and adding them to CAS.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"

They need to change the way babies look, because they creep me out.

Teens need to look younger, I don't think they have to be shorter just smaller body frames and younger looking faces.

I haven't really played the elders but they do just seem like adult sims with grey hair and wrinkles.

The problem is that you can't assign too much to babies, they are supposed to be newborns after all. If you try to give them too much game play, like crawling, you edge to far into the toddler category and then the devs won't want to update babies to be a version of toddlers that they have already put so much work into.

I think the most we should ask for in order to stand a decent chance of getting it, is to cut the umbilical chord between a baby and a crib. If babies stayed essentially the same, with the exception of new burrito wraps via colors and/or patterns, but were able to be taken from the crib to a changing table and a rocking chair, but not out of the nursery itself, then they might be more willing to throw babies a bone.

I don't think we need to create them in CAS, after all, babies are created from the CAS DNA from the parents, a thing we may not do ourselves. When I create kids or teens, I never do it via DNA of the parents, I just click the kid or teen stage and create them myself with no DNA from either parent. There might be a physical resemblance, like red hair, but, other than something like that, the offspring may as well be adopted. Newborn babies are the only real offspring in my games.

I do think it would help greatly to give the effect that babies are more than just objects, if they gave us things like furniture, wallpapers and the such to create a baby nursery in a house. Right now, all we have is the crib itself which we don't even get to choose. Add in plain and fancy cribs with changing tables and other baby nursery furniture and decor.

Teens, for sure. I want things like pranks (from Sims 3 Generations). I doubt they'd do this, but even a pre-teen life-stage would be neat since it'd make the transition from child to teen (given that teens are basically young adults who have to go to school) less jarring.

I'm just glad to hear that babies are on the table (er, so to speak - in Sims 3, they were usually on the floor). I want more for all of these lifestages. I really want them to fix the female elder sag - there isn't a single top that looks decent on senior women. And the moaning and groaning in CAS drives me up a wall. I'd like to see teens having crushes, or being crushed on. And I want a changing table and bath for the babies. Maybe some scooting and crawling, and a baby swing or bouncy chair.
I just want things to match. :'(

Elders in general, need more age appropriate clothing. More blouse tops for females, more skirts/dresses that hit below the need or mid shin and male elders more clothes all around. Females need "Sunday" hats, there aren't any other than the sun hat which is hardly a formal hat.

I'd really like to see appropriate clothes for teens and elders that only they can wear. I would also like more elder female hair styles. They all can't have their hair pulled back into a bun.

If I could of voted I would if for sure went to babies and then teens next. My main reason being babies though is because they need to be cut from the crib. Our sims needs to be able to be mobile with them. Let the babies more or less have a buffed up personality.
Maybe one would cry more than another. One would like to eat more while another would just like to sleep longer.

Let our sims be about to place them on cute little place mats and try to teach them to sit up. Give them baths in the sink ( like sims 2). Let them play with rattles and hit our sims on the head. Let them crawl.

I don't know about you but there is a huge difference between the stages if a new born- toddler. What about the months in between? When a baby learns to raise their head or just little things like that.

In my opinion there is tons they can do with babies. Even if it's just a cosmetic change with the babies come out looking a bit more like their parents with hair color and eyes.

I miss bathing babies in the hand basin, then leaving them on the floor. Those were the days.

Other than adding those options, (and maybe the option to babyq) the best way to improve babies is to age them up.

Elders, on the other hand, need a LOT of improvements. I want the option to shake a walking-stick at some young whippersnappers. I want to yell at those darn kids, to get them off the lawn (which I just mowed). I want to nod off watching tv/reading/in the middle of a conversation/while eating dinner.
    I want knitting and bingo.

In Sims 2, a Sim could gently play with a baby, raise them into the air, and sometimes the baby would spit up on them and then the Sim would take a hygiene hit. That was pretty funny.
