Lol! You had so much better luck than I did my first try! My first laundry room had the client all "you were supposed to make my home better, not worse!". Oops

Haha! Yikes! I'm terrified of how this going to go since I luuuurve me some clutter @creativemetaphor!
It's been a hot minute since I've put out a build on my channel, but I'm so happy to be sharing this one - it's my new favorite!

@aricarai lol I don't think you need to worry about that. I had looked up 'tips' to getting better results with the architecture career and one thing it mentioned was the game has a certain expectation of where the addition will end up, and I may have just been a bit too 'out of the box' with mine. I might have also inadvertently done something that went against one of the client's traits, which I didn't know, my first time doing it I didn't meet them first so... yeah.
Ooh new video! *runs to watch*
(On the topic of gardens and tester sims, what if you just put a temp sprinkler with auto-water upgrade and it would at least keep the garden green for you?)

Oooh - I never ever thought of that with the sprinklers. I'm not a big gardener - in life and in the Sims - so that never crossed my mind. Thank you so much - I shall do that when I go to finish the interiors.
I haven't looked a lot up in the Architectural Design Profession in quite some time. I understand that I need to learn their traits, but so far, none of them have been home, gosh darnit!
I don't think I would have necessarily thought to suggest the sprinkler if I hadn't just put them in my own cottage garden! Not the BuildnShare one but the one I just finished. I did a rather extensive garden in that one with three separate harvestable areas and at first I put the sprinklers in just to keep them green then found a way to 'hide' them so they ended up staying in the final build
I LOVE overgrown cottage gardens! That is so my dream house to have flowers and bushes just overgrowing everything everywhere!
Your Carriage House is sooooo charming and you did such a wonderful job on that landscaping and I absolutely love all those flowers! Can’t wait to see the interior when you’re done.

Thank you so much @Sandraelle - I'm loving it too. I think I just need to spend more time on the landscaping and perhaps I'll like it better

I decided to start a new (mini) build/renovation series on my YouTube channel one that I've been wanting to do since before I began my channel. I posted my first video on YouTube on 20th May 2017 and in my Simming notebook on 9th February 2017, I wrote down 'Download old houses from the Exchange for What Was I Thinking Series.' So this has been a loooong time coming. For my one year YouTube anniversary, I decided to kick off this little series, which I have dubbed What the Plum! Episode One can be watched here.
Some of these will be renovations and some will be complete gut jobs, but one thing's for sure, I'll be poking fun at myself for some of the build and design choices that I made almost six years ago when I first started uploading to The Sims 3 Exchange.
So I'm going to stop rambling and let's get into it the very first renovation/gut job of What the Plum!
In this first episode, I decided to have a crack at the second house I uploaded to The Exchange on 9th July 2012, the Bohemian Beach Bungalow. All I can say is, I'm SO sorry to the 157 people that downloaded this house. It is ATROCIOUS! However, if anyone would like to give the Bohemian Beach Bungalow a makeover, I'd LOVE to see it!
When I placed the lot on the exact same spot that I did almost 6 years ago, this happened:
The darn thing SUNK into the terrain - probably shouldn't have built a walkout basement that close to the cliff edge and water, eh?! My tester Sims couldn't even access the house!
Here are the overviews:
As you can see, The Bohemian Beach Bungalow started out as a two bedroom, one bathroom starter house with four different floor patterns in a small space, lime green walls, leather walls, and bamboo walls. YIKES! That just won't do at all - what the actual plum was I thinking? I seriously have no idea why I thought that might look good! Haha! From the beginning, I decided this one was going to be a complete gut job!

There are two ways to access the main house - the spiral staircase just off of the self-contained apartment or the front entrance. Let's shimmy up the front ones.
Off of the kitchen/dining room, there are two decks - one for painting and the other for BBQing.
Onto the living room that has a little computer nook.
And off of the living room is another bedroom that has its own bathroom.
Wrapping this little tour up, let's look at the back of The Driftwood and overviews.
Little black MOO gate posts! You can get rid of them by pulling a fence across them, then deleting the fence. It's oddly that simple.
Grr...wish I had known that one before I rebuilt the entire house, but that's okay. I'd built and rebuilt that darn house so many times that it was because second nature!
It's Wright Designs Wednesday, folks! In Part Two, Frankie tackles the demands of a no-shoe wearing pint-sized client and also does a renovation for a man in uniform.

I am also happy to report that I have almost finished a makeover of your Beach Bungalow! Funny thing is, though, I was originally going to try to keep it as a starter budget, so I decided instead of downloading your build I would rebuild it based on the footprint so I could place it on a smaller lot for cost savings.
Of course, about 5 minutes into furnishing I threw the budget out the window but the footprint is the same - including that foundation bump-out/front porch. I did change one section of exterior wall, though. I figured the foundation was already there, nothing to prevent me framing in a bit off the front
