I finished Juan a while back (will post some pics soon). Have been working on Madison and just had a question. I know Madison can't sell paintings for money, but what about her kids; can they sell paintings that they have done? I am guessing probably not, but i had one of them with NO painting ability paint one over $900!!! It was crazy! Also, if she has any YA kids around (her first kid was a normal, not a ghost) can they get a real job or do they have to stick with part times too? (She's only just about to turn into a teen, but I thought I would go ahead and ask.) Thanks!

I attempted Raj again. He's MUCH easier if you don't give him a job and have him be a collector for a living. (At one point, I found a plutonium ingot and sent it in and got FIVE bars back!)

    1: Stephanie Theo, no children
    2: Aurora Boyd, no children
3: Lydia Thibodeaux (mail carrier), 1 son, Ellis
4: Lucy Bishop (town cassinova, SHE got HIM), twin girls, Briana and Jesse
5: Rachel Thibodeaux (no relation to Lydia), twin girls, Maura and Alesha
6: Sonya Gallardo, twin girls, Christy and Lindsey
7: Valencia Hamlin (former papergirl), twin girls, Gabrielle and Dixie
8: Margarita Didelot-Bingham, twin girls, Toni and Maranda
9: Raina Eaton (repairwoman), 1 son, Gilbert
10: Paulette Gallardo (Sonya's cousin), twin girls, Juliana and Corinne
11: Grizelda Tamelpan (Riverview ghost), twin girls, Amy and Sara

Lucy was hilarious, Raj did a 'charming introduction' and her response was 'kiss'. He was quite agreeable to this and got to good friends and extremely irresistable with no input from me. Paulette was the hardest, as she also had commitment issues and didn't show up when invited over several times. I had to go over to HER place to do it.

And yes, I had one extra, because I had Grizelda's gravestone all the way back at #4, but didn't get the chance card until after #10 was done.

    Challenge: Raj
    Time: 50 days
    Status: COMPLETED

    Here is December's Sim

    Name: Barry Burnaut
    Gender: Male
    Age: Young Adult
    LTW: Perfect Garden
Traits: Party Animal, Grumpy, Brave, Heavy Sleeper, Loves the Outdoors
Goal: Make over $1,000/per hour in any career.
Restrictions: Barry may not Take it Easy or sleep at work. If Barry gets too stressed at his job, he must quit his job when he gets home and may never take a job in that career again. Barry must accept all work-based opportunities and must quit his job if he ever fails one of them. Barry may not miss a day of work. Barry may only marry a sim with the ‘workaholic’ trait. Mods that affect the difficulty of careers may not be used. Awesome mod’s function of re-assigning bosses appropriately as a sim grows in position IS allowed.

Prelude: Song Co Unlimited, headed by the business mogul Minerva Song quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the regional marketplace. Their signature ad campaign featuring silent and subtitled advertisements struck a popular cord with the public and sent the company’s stock shares soaring.

A young executive working for Song co made an off-color remark about the company’s success being due to public sympathy for the CEO’s condition, rather than any kind of real talent, intelligence or business sense. The executive was promptly fired after a senior manager heard this in passing, thus sending this promising young executive back to square one, again.

Bio: Barry Burnaut came from a truly hardworking family. His great grandfather grew up during the great depression and supported the entire family by working 17 hour double-shifts at the local factory. His great grandfather’s die-hard attitude of all work and no play has permeated its way down the family line, with each member adopting this die hard workaholic attitude like their parent before them. As the youngest of three, Barry is held to the same high standards of workaholicism as the rest of the family by his elders.

Unfortunately for Barry, the intrinsic love for work was simply not something that was part of him, unlike the rest of his family. Deep down he hated the unreasonable (in his mind) expectations placed on him by his elders but wouldn’t dare oppose his family tradition openly. His only hope is to out-do his older siblings and get the attention from his parents and grandparents off his career and onto theirs, which would allow him to take some much needed vacation, or perhaps retire early… anything to get out of the daily grind. Unfortunately for Barry, he has a habit of speaking his mind, unfiltered, when he gets overly stressed at work, inevitably getting him fired every time he does this.

    Pinstar Says:
No career has even close to wages of 1,000/hour even at the highest level. The only way to ratchet his wages up higher is to keep filling the work bar to get him more ‘promotions’ in the form of raises even after he has reached the top level of a career. While any career can reach 1000/hour eventually, you would do well to find one that naturally has a high hourly wage rate at the top level. You should also be mindful of the kind of hours a career demands. The longer the shift the greater the chance of Barry getting stressed or overworked, and thus losing his job. Then again, longer shifts mean more chances to raise his performance bar, thus bringing him closer to promotions and/or raises. Barry must quit his job if he finishes a work shift with either the “Stressed” and/or the “Overworked” moodlets. Community based and skill based opportunities may be accepted or declined at your discretion, the ‘must accept all’ rule only applies to work-based opportunities.

    Barry can be downloaded here:

Sure seemed easy enough but my Barry is already on job #2. Quick question though, is 'strained' the same as 'stressed'? It has the same EKG looking icon but I wasn't sure so I let the first one slip by, but then later (because I was watching Sons of Anarchy and playing at the same time) it popped up again, this time with the 'overworked' desk moodlet. So I wound up quitting and starting a new job anyway.

Any level of 'stressed' including 'strained' is enough to get Barry fired.

My Barry is almost an elder and only at $600 an hr. He only works 3 days a week so I've only been able to get him a raise once every week and it's only $31 at a time. Very few career ops popping up now too. He might make it.. barely if he works until the day he dies, LOL! If only he hadn't had to quit that first job, so much time lost on that.

If you are having trouble getting Barry to the needed level of employment before old age takes him, there is no rule against slowing down time for this challenge. Mind you, 1 day = 1 day so your score is unaffected by the game speed you play at.

Well I finally finished Barry. I did wind up putting the lifespan on 'long' and he was 178 Days old (Elder) when he got his final raise that put him over the $1000 per/hour mark. I noticed a couple of times while he was at work there was an option to 'demand raise' I hadn't seen that before maybe it's an elderly thing? .. any way Thanks Again Pinstar! Love these SOTM :)

I went for round 2 on Gregory, more or less sticking to the original order. Though severely distracted by adding World Adventures in the middle, and by the sheer insanity this guy can inflict on the neighborhood through fighting with everyone, I discovered the trick to making this guy fly through political promotions with no charisma: PARTY!!! :D

He also had a bad habit of sleeping in once he had his own car instead of taking the carpool (and losing performance for being late), or I suspect he'd have shaved a few days off that time.

    Challenge: Gregory Manchilde
Time: 37 days (not counting vacations)
    Status: COMPLETED

I can't download Barry. The reason given is that my game needs updating. I have a base game that is fully patched, and I'm not sure what is missing.

Edit: Here are the webpages I'm working on. I still need player images if anyone can help.

    http://apocalypsechallenge.boolprop.com/Sim of the Month.html

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

The website is looking great Maxi!

No clue why you can't download Barry. All of my sims of the month were uploaded with only the vanilla game installed. Other than re-coloring some parts of some of their outfits, no custom meshes or designs were used.

Because I'm not getting the EP, future sims of the month will continue to be 'vanilla' and playable for all.

I'm trying Amanda again (since I had a repoman when I was nearly done last time), but it's MUCH harder now than it was before. I can't swipe from everywhere I used to. A bunch of indoor public buildings no longer show the option, but I clearly remember having gotten items from there the first time around. Unless it's really just that I'm in Sunset Valley this time instead of Riverview...?

I'm not in any real danger of failing the challenge. It's just going to take forever. :P

...okay, not as long as I thought. Three money trees bring in cash awful quickly. Still, she'd probably be near the end of her life if I'd played on normal lifespan. As it was, I didn't keep count of the days.

The body sculptor was the first thing I got, then actually enouth money to build her 'proper house'. Finding a guy took a while until I noticed that while she had an old friend named Rafael Rockwell, she'd never talked to him in person since getting the Observant perk. Not only was he a Computer Whiz, he was Family-Oriented: a perfect match for both the challenge and her little Hopeless Romantic heart. They had a beach wedding that was the talk of the town (even if Rafael tried to sleep through it), and then a son named Franklin.

    Challenge: Amanda Ontharun

What if the person that Raj wants to woohoo is an Elder? There is no option to try for baby with them. Would they not count to the 10 to woohoo? I'm assuming no but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Okay so I got the game a few weeks ago while it was on sale at Walmart.com. While I was waiting for it to arrive in the mail, I found out about this challenge. It seemed the perfect way to learn the Sims 3 and learn all the quirks and still have it challenging. So I created Pinstar's Valley save on my computer and started with Gordon. I renamed Gordon Gordita and she was always chubby til the day she finished the challenge. She ended up marrying Leighton Sekemoto and moving in with him and having one son.

Then I did Theresa, Then Peggy-Sue. Peggy Sue married Michael Bachelor, moved in and kicked out the rest of his family. That was how I learned that moving in with someone else was not a good idea if I didn't wanna end up controlling more than just my happy couple. They had two kids Cornelia and Alexander Bachelor. I also learned when I moved in Peggy-Sue that plants don't go with but luckily I was able to harvest the old plants and Michael Bachelor actually had a garden going already too.

Then I moved onto Gregory Manchilde. He was a hoot b/c the only person he liked was his boss. I decided to try and woohoo her but right after he invited her to stay the grim reaper showed up and killed her. Like he asked she said yes and boom she was dead. I was laughing so hard watching. I ended up not savin but again she was at his house making with the kissing when Grim showed up and he again didn't get none. Well his next boss he flirted his way to the top with. She gave great donations n stuffs. I tried to get them hitched but no matter what I did I couldn't manage it before I finally left the house.

Then came Mauseah...She made me learn to love Neurotic sims, but I didn't really like her as much as her family. She started a fire like the first day, and then started dating the fireman. Married him, and started her career. Unfortunately she kept rolling wants for babies with her hubby so I let her. Mainly because her husband turned Elder the day after they got married. So I made her first kid brave so that even if the hubby died she wouldn't have to give up her job, but then she kept wanting more kids. I let her have three before I gave her the smack down on the wish. I don't like that I can't send her to work pregnant if I want to. I kept waiting for her hubby to die. He lived to be around 107 days or so before he finally died. She promptly fainted twice. Their 3 kids came home from work/school walked past mom and sobbed about Dad. I then had her rezz her hubby. And then I had her have one more pregnancy to try for a ghost baby. I got identical twin boys, one who was a ghost. I finally got her finished on her 85th day of life. That's when I learned after switching houses...that at least in my game....ghost kids poof. Her ghost son never made it past childhood. It was also semi-creepy that he had a tombstone in his inventory. Another detail I noticed was that I could have returned him or his Dad to the afterlife at any point with their tombstones.

So I moved on to Raj..and now to the reason I'm boring you with the background. This whole post has been a build up to Raj, because he was a hoot and it was interesting to see how the town's aging effected his kids' bloodlines.

Raj's lifetime wish was to become a surgeon so I let him work on his career for his young adult hood to try and pay for all these spawn he'd eventually have, plus every woman he met was old, or aged up as soon as he started to woo them. I really wanted him to make babies with Contessa Twitchford the daughter of Mauseah's that I loved so much I saved her look and I'll probably use her later. Unfortunately she didn't cooperate and then turned elder before I could have them woohoo. So I started the wooing when Raj was officially an adult and finished the first day of Elderhood for him. My game was set on normal duration for the whole challenge.

He woohoo'd the following women, in the following order. And yes he was a dog. He twice woohoo'd sisters, but somehow didn't break up their families or cause enemies. In fact when I was done, no one hated him really.

    1) Shante Goth birthed Jedidiah
    2) Lorena Goth birthed Patricia & Cassie
    3) Jacquelyn Jordan birthed Jacquelyn & Wendy
    4) Nicola Bachelor birthed Percy
    5) Virginia Hirsch no babies
    6) Stacy Hutchinson birthed Norman (only girl he actually dated, and with a reason)
    7) Janel Nance birthed Alexander
    8) Angeline Voss birthed Danica & Harmony
    9) Crissy Jordan birthed Tamra & Irene
    10) Alexa Bell birthed Miles

He only escorted two girls to the hospital his girlfriend Stacy and Alexa. I waited until after Alexa gave birth to do anything outside the challenge to him, and then I had him have a midlife crisis turn Good, Flirty, Great Kisser, Family-Oriented, and Lucky. He then invited over his girlfriend, proposed marriage, and moved her and Norman in.

Now why this cracked me up so bad. Every time a kid was born...I'd check the family tree. It was interesting to see who was related to who, and I kid you not, every single one of his kids is in some way related to the other challenge Sims.

Sister and Roommates Shante & Lorena Goth were the daughters of Gregory Manchilde and Carolina Goth. I have a picture somewhere of Greg playing Chess with teenage Carolina in his underwear. I had laughed and pointed it out to my roommate saying how the dirty old man was 🐸🐸🐸🐸 the teenager while playing chess. It was so inappropriate, ironically apparently they did hook up after I gave him up to the time stream.

Nicola Bachelor was the granddaughter of Bella Bachelor who was the sister of Peggy-Sue's husband Michael. Nicola's brother married Felisha who was the daughter of Alison Sapp and Alexander Bachelor (Peggy-Sue's son). Felisha also had a son with Nicholaus Sapp who was the son of Theresa Dolphina and Taurus Keaton. Felisha's sister Nicole Sapp had married Derek Twitchford, One of Mauseah's identical twin boys she had after her husband became a ghost.

Angelina Voss was the granddaughter of Sam Loadsworth who was Gordita (Gordon) Loadsworth's step-son.

I was dying laughing every time I discovered he'd some how ended up related to everyone. I didn't discover how to find out who was having babies and getting married until Gregory I think. It was interesting to see how it all played out.

And for those curious about stats...Raj when I finished was Logic 7, Charisma 9, Cooking 5, Gardening 10, Handy 6, he was a World Renowned Surgeon. He along the way earned in order of earning Fertility Treatment, Office Hero, Speedy Cleaner, Observant, Opportunistic, Attractive, Never Dull, Steel Bladder, Long Distance Friend, Hardly Hungry, Faster Learner, and finally Midlife Crisis.

Just a heads up, no Sim of the Month this January. I haven't had a chance to playtest the sim properly on account on of the holidays.

And my chances of getting World Adventures is slim to none. This is the "Vacation" flavor EP, and that was least favorite EP from both the Sims 1 AND the Sims 2.
I'm not saying I won't be getting ANY future EPs, just not this one :)
