I've been experiencing frequent lagging and game crashes since upgrading to Sierra. My Sims are delaying and ignoring actions. There's also some weird behavior - I had a female sim go to the bathroom and pee standing up, even though her bladder need was totally full! She just stood there with a blurred torso like she was going to the bathroom. I had to use the debug reset to fix it.
I find that my game is crashing when I'm in live mode, but not in build mode. I've gotten used to saving the game once every Sim day, and after important events, because I know my game might crash.
I should add that this is a fresh install, with no mods or cc.
I see a lot of people saying this is a NVIDIA graphics problem but I'm not experiencing graphics glitches! Could it be crashing for another reason? Has anyone else with similar specs solved this?
After the toddlers/vampires release, when I use CAS, every time I press the "back" arrow to undo a change I made, the camera zooms all the way out to full body view. It's very annoying since I make CAS videos and have to edit it out. I tried repairing the game in origin and removing mods, but it still does it.

That sounds annoying! Does the keyboard shortcut work - hold down the CMD key and press Z?
Hey I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but I'll give it a shot.. I read through this and didn't find the answer I was looking for either.
I just installed the sims 4 on my new Sierra desktop. I've always played on Windows laptops. So no issues installing the game or in CAS but once I was in build mode and live mode I am having issues with camera controls. First of all I cannot figure out how to rotate objects in build mode. I used to be able to do this no problem with my mouse on my laptop. I am using the apple magic mouse. Second problem, the camera controls are limited and don't do half of what they could do on my laptop. I can't rotate the the screen using my mouse, I can't click the screen to drag it to another location in the house, and it's really frustrating. I tried switching to the sims 3 camera mode which is what I am used to, and somehow it made things worse as edge scrolling stopped working even though I have it enabled... I really don't like playing like. Can anyone help me with this?
I'll be very honest. The Apple magic mouse is horrible for gaming. I've always bought a third party mouse like ones made by Logitech with the proper two mouse buttons and the scroll wheel. They work just fine on the Mac.
Next try either deleting your Options.ini file and restarting the game to allow it to generate a new one. Or move your Sims 4 folder to your desktop and restarting the game. Both of these options allow the game to start with "new" data.
Try the new mouse first and then try the moving or deleting your games files.

I use Sims 4 on both Mac and PC. I must admit I get SO hesitant using it on my Macbook due to overheating. I refuse to use many mods or CC or whatever else on it too! I play on low graphics mostly but it is playable. I've got the 2013 Macbook i7-4980HQ, 16GB, SSD But a pretty rubbish GPU in it. But I am glad it's playable, although I do have some issues when it comes to zooming in and out?

I play on a MacBook Pro intensely and it's fine. You MUST make sure air can circulate underneath or use a cooling fan/pad of some sort. What's wrong with the GPU, you have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB VRAM I think (mid-2014 15" with Haswell 4980HQ)? I have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1Gb and can play beautifully on all high settings with all EPs etc. yours should be even smoother.
i have a question? there seems to be a hole in my sims uhmm.. like in the stomach. when i zoom in the hole goes away but when i zoom out the hole reappears. does anyone know how to resolve this.
I've been playing sims on windows computers forever, and i recently got a macbook air (MacOS Sierra. Early 2015. Processor:1.6GHz Intel Core i5. Memory: 8gb 1600 MHz DDR3. Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536MB) and was wondering if its worth a shot to download it on here. I have all the games minus the newest game bundle and stuff packs recently released. The windows computer i have runs it, but super slow and lags almost all the time so im hoping it runs a bit better on a mac. thanks in advance

The graphics aren't great as MacBook Airs really aren't designed for any kind of gaming. Make sure you elevate it to keep it cool too But you won't have to buy the game again so just go for it and see what happens

It also depends on what you use each computer for. Regardless of what computer you have, if you're using it purely for schoolwork and research there shouldn't be many files saved on it, so the game shouldn't really lag from too many files on it. I have only one computer, a Mac Book Pro with Retina Display, early 2015, with a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor. I delete my trash regularly, erase downloaded files after I'm done with them, keep all my schoolwork files on a flash drive that I just plug in when I need them, and mine runs the game fine. I've had it for about a year and a half now and still no problem.
Like the person above me said, Airs aren't really designed for gaming, the image quality isn't going to be fantastic, but it should still be able to run the game just fine. Just keep your files organized and on an external drive if you can so that your laptop isn't as laggy in general, and that should help your game run better as well.
I say download the game on your new computer, maybe lower the quality/resolution settings within the game, and see how it works. If it's too laggy still or you find that you don't really need it on there or prefer playing it on your Windows computer, you can always uninstall it.
I have recently installed Sierra and of course latest updates and toodlers... I am having problems with a mod. Specifically the ones that enables multiple babies.... Is there a quick fix for this? Anyone else struggling with mods after this upgrades?

Have you checked the creator's site? Is the mod compatible with the current patch level?

It's loud because the fans are having to work really hard to cool it down and keep it from overheating. Elevate it or invest in a cooling pad or raised stand so you don't shorten the machine's life
I've recently updated to Sierra (Mac Pro 13" - 2.7Ghz i5) and my game works perfectly. I have all expansions, stuff packs, HEAPS of CC and no issues at all. The only issue I have experienced (but I don't think that's anything to do with the upgrade) is my photos I take in game show black and not a photo if I place it in the game.
I'm not sure if you are aware, but this is a bug for Mac users that has still not been fixed. It also applies when I try to "Paint from Reference" on the easel. A workaround is when you want to take a photo or paint a reference, turn your Retina Display off, take your photo and turn it back on if you want. Sometimes it's buggy (like if your sim views the photo they will view a black picture) But atleast you get the effect.

It certainly is a known bug and is detailed in the bug and troubleshooting thread here -http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/13322755/#Comment_13322755
You are again posting in the wrong section. If you keep posting the same question over and over under a new account EA will see this as trolling. I suggest you stick to one thread. You were answered here http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/766038/can-someone-help-me#latest
