@Rainydayz179 Oooh I love your new sig banner! I think I'm going to be changing mine this week. I saw someone else was using a gif rotating banner again so I wonder if they've removed the code that plumm'd out the .gif part as was happening back in January.
I'm not sure how many people still follow this thread...but I'm going to continue to post my story updates here
Thanks. I didn't know the rotating ones weren't working? I used to have one like that. I decided to just make a generic one that's not for any particular story this time around. I really like it.
Feel free to keep posting your updates here. I'm not sure how many look at the thread either.
I have to admit, I'm one of the lurkers. It's an interesting challenge, but 1. I don't have vampires yet and 2. I have quite a lot on my plate without picking up yet another challenge. It's on my list, though!

Aha! *points* Lurker! You're busy enough with your own challenge and drifter already even if you did have Vampires.
@Rainydayz179 Yep.. but I do plan eventually to get vampires.. and if everything goes to plan, I should have my challenge done by the beginning of April, so by then, all bets are off. Trying something new will definitely sound like a good idea by then, I'm sure!

I know what you mean. My problem is that I love the rush of starting something new a little bit too much! I used to complete every challenge I started and now little by little I've been losing interest. The only one that's kept my interest long term has been drifter, probably because each generation starts over with new goals.
@Rainydayz179 Yeah, I love starting new things, too. Makes it hard to finish the ones that get boring after a while. Drifter is special in that it isn't the same thing over and over. I like that, and I tried to bring that into my challenge, too.

Awesome, I do plan to do your challenge eventually. I'm just intimidated by the thought of building apartments. I had a hard enough time convincing myself I could build houses. Then it took me forever to learn to landscape. Baby steps, lol.
@Rainydayz179 That's one reason I have two difficulties. On normal mode, you just decorate them.. you move in unfurnished, so all the walls are placed and it's ready to go. Only with extreme mode do you actually have to move into bulldozed apartments and make up floor plans and add stairs and walls and stuff. It seems like a minor difference, but if you're leery of having to actually build, go normal difficulty, and you don't have build at all unless you really feel you want to move the walls around. And you never have to worry about landscaping with apartments! (That was a big bonus for me - I am SO bad at landscaping!) I have a test save on both difficulties, and I have to say, not having to build with normal is kind of nice (it also eliminates travel restrictions, which is also much easier).
@Rainydayz179 They difficulty info is under the "getting started" part, so unless you read all the way to that part, you could easily have missed it. I tried to cover everything, but inevitably, questions come up. I had five different people proofread for both typos and readability, which was crazy, but I got different comments from most of them, of which all were helpful. I'm figuring I should have all the "Switches" (like drifter houses) out by the beginning of April. (There are six total - two comes out tomorrow.. which is why I'm up late on sims testing.. lol)

Ah okay. I'll have to read over the entirety of the rules. I wouldn't be surprised if I just skimmed them because I was preoccupied with something else, I do that a lot.
@Rainydayz179 *snickers* You sound like me. I do the same thing! I get preoccupied and end up missing important things .. I do the same thing with Drifter rules, which is why I re-read them and paraphrase on my pages.. it's not for everyone else to read.. that's so I know I understood them and didn't miss anything!

That's so funny! I keep the house thread of whichever one I'm working on open in a browser tab and keep skimming it to make sure I don't miss anything which I usually do anyway! I just have so many things going on at once I miss stuff all of the time.
@Rainydayz179 Oh, me too. I blame it on my ADD. I usually have a million things going through my head. In fact, I was writing this while making my sim cook a birthday cake.. and by the time I noticed what was going on someone had snagged a piece of it.. so now I have to make an entirely new cake. *grumbles*

Ah, well I'm bipolar so I have some of those fun ADD traits. I watch them like a hawk with those cakes! I usually have the mouse hovering over it as they're carrying it to the table or counter to make them add candles!

Awe! So sweet. The rules page still gets plenty of hits but so far nobody comments with links or anything saying they're doing it.
