Also we can't have horses in TS4 the worlds are just too small, it made sense in TS3 because the worlds were open but this one isn't so it shouldn't include horses. I'd be happy with small pets (hamsters, birds, turtles, etc.) and dogs and cats.
We're barely 13 days into the new year, and we're already getting Vampires, Toddlers, and now maybe even Pets?! They weren't kidding when they said that 2017 was going to be a good year.
Toddlers now Pets what's next cars and Seasons well the Guru's did not lie this year started off with a bang I really expect it to be amazing now. Hopefully the world that comes with Pets has huge lots and is more of a rural world if we do end up getting horses.

Yeah but they're neither in the species code nor in the other parts that mention cats and dogs. I suspect they might be some sort of object or something, wouldn't they have been mentioned in the species as well if they were full sims?

Hard to tell since it's a minimal amount of code, but they were also mentioned in the pets survey.
I was actually more happy to see this new toddler patch than I thought I would be (plans for the day have just gone out of the window!), but now I can truly look forward to my long-awaited cat sims? AWESOME!!!

I am also excited about everything going on, I am so happy that people are happy about all the new updates and changes in sims 4, I hope reviews change and people start opening upto it more, with all the things to come, sims 4 is going to be awesome, as I forseen. I knew it was only a matter of time before we got to all the good stuff. ^^
I really hope pets and seasons are this early in the game cycle, they are my favourite and the sad thing is each time that because they are often near the end you get so much less time to enjoy them before moving on to the next game version. However I am worried about the horses, to me lol they are my toddlers, I loved the horses, I didn't like the way the genetics messed up the layers on their coats, sims 2 genetics etc worked a lot better, really cute offspring with the dogs that were a lovely mix of both parents while the Sims 3 versions usually needed a quick makeover in CAS each time. If I could choose, I would have ponies for the children to look after and ride, that would be so cute. I don't see the lack of an open world as a problem, that Sims 4 can have worlds within a world is an advantage. Just create a world like Granite Falls, and livery stables where Sims can keep their horses.
This was the first time I came to the forums in like two months and we get Toddlers, upcoming news about Vampires and Bowling and now potentially we're getting a Pets EP??!?!?!?!??

Horses were the main reason I wanted Pets for Sims 3. I was so excited when it was announced because I love horses. But I didn't really expect them to come back for Sims 4. There just isn't enough room to make them really worthwhile. I've kind of already made peace with the idea.
I'm excited as everyone who have been waiting so long for that day to arrive but I pray for it to be good this time, TS3 pets was a disappointment due to the lack of so many potential interaction. I can wait but I do really hope they make a good one this time, I keep my paws up
Now it makes so much sense that the next expansion is Pets and they had to release toddlers first because otherwise people* would have gone mental over it.
