It really doesn't bother me at all. I wasn't being dismissive of feedback, just acknowledging it. I guess having played the Sims 3 exclusively over the past few days I was reminded of just how great a game it is and was just wondering why so many would subject themselves to all the uncertainty of Sims 4, especially when there is so much that so many don't like. You answered my question so thanks for that. :) [/quote]

I understand what you're saying. I actually miss playing the Sims 3 but my computer simply won't run it and it crashes on my husband's gaming computer so for me I choose Sims 4 by default but there are great things about it. I personally like the way the Sims look a lot better. I didn't think I would but I do and I like how they move and there is attention to detail in some aspects of the game. I love love love how simple it is to share the things I create and be inspired by others on the gallery. That is such a huge addition that I would miss going back to Sims 3. The multitasking is great although a little flawed when trying to accomplish something quickly and my sim wants to talk, which extends the task... But all in all its a great feature. Honestly, the sims 4 would be perfect FOR ME if it had these three things:

    1) The T-word, of course. They should be adding life-stages, not taking them away.

    2) More Careers. They don't even have to be active, although teacher should have been added to get to work as an active career. Definitely need a Fireman too.

    3) Better interactions, especially for children and definitely better romantic interactions. Slow dancing, a must. Loved the heat of the moment kiss. And just more sweet interactions. They are all Don Lothario's moves. Oh and on that topic we definitely need a Faithful trait.

So there's my two cents. Great topic by the way @simgirl1010 . Good question to ask.

A couple of days ago I launched my Sims 3 game. I'd decided to play again and work on some of the features I never got around to. Right now my sim is living in an awesome houseboat, something I never tried, on an awesome island world I downloaded. My sim is going to work on the Scuba Diving skill, and then maybe the lifeguard career. I'm currently filling the world with all the community lots that aren't available in the Sims 4. Bowling alley, skating rink, casino, laundromat. I can't wait to once again experience snow and rain. I'm going to get a cute little puppy. Work on one of the university majors I never tried out. I want to play a fairy. If I remember correctly there's a mod to change a sim's lifestate. I may even give Into The Future a second chance. I'm looking forward to being able to truly customize my sim's home with the color wheel. I haven't given up Sims 4, just wanted to revisit 3 while waiting to see whats next for 4. And I've been having a really good time with it. I can honestly say, as much as I do enjoy Sims 4, it could end tomorrow and I'd be okay with that knowing I always have Sims 3 and Sims 2 to play.

What I'm trying to say is, with all the wonderful features in Sims 3, why would anyone who's not satisfied with Sims 4 even care? There are so many threads in this section discussing the drawbacks of Sims 4. The 'missing features', lack of open world, lack of toddlers, lack of true family play, lack of building tools, traits that don't have any effect on sim behavior, rpg gameplay, no deviant gameplay, no sandbox gameplay, musical chairs, messed up emotions, childish humor, Disney visuals and artstyle, happy happy land, and the list goes on and on and on. So my question is to those who are waiting for the Sims 4 to become something you can enjoy, can you list one or two features that you do like about the game? This is not a why not go back to Sims 3 thread, it's more why Sims 4.

This morning. Yes, this morning, after reading your post I thought I would reload S3 and play my world adventurer who lives on a houseboat. I also decided to DL a player created world since the S3 ones have so much trouble. Since then, I have been fighting the game and fighting origin who says I don't own Seasons, Island Paradise or Into the Future. It's been nothing but a battle to get this world out that screwed up everything including the fact that I cant even create a sim who is not human.

Deleted Origin, reinstalled, and now have to wait while it recognizes all my games. So much for playing sims on a day off.

PS. I thought about playing 4, but why bother.....

At this rate and the troubles, why bother with any of them?

Why ts4?... well, for me, I like the new artstyle and the way the sims themselves look and move. Cas is great, build mode is awesome, the kids are super cute, being able to plop a new house or room from the gallery in seconds is freaking magnificent (I ran out of adjectives there lol, so magnificent might be a little OTT).

When I go back to previous games now, I just start getting picky. I don't like their looks, the graphics aren't as good, I want my pregnant sims to wear any clothes, I want any hat with any hair, I want multi-tasking etc. It's a sad day when a much-loved version kind of becomes obsolete, but that's always how it goes for me cos the new version is always shinier.

So you're saying that we should conform with TS4 being a bad game because the previous games are good? TS4 is suppose to be a sequel that's why there's a "4" in it.

No that's not at all what I was trying to say. And all of the posters before you got it. :)

    Thanks everyone for the responses.

Perhaps I'm not reading it as negatively-put as maybe @Sigzy05 is suggesting but I think what you have wrote here translates pretty similar to what he read; someone who doesn't care about TS4 would be conforming/accepting TS4 for what it is.

That aside, I agree, TS2 and TS3 are both amazing in their own ways. They each offer such large, unique features that make playing either one a joy. But therein lies the problem, at least for me. I love the majority of TS2, and I love some of TS3. I wanted TS4 to take what was awesome about TS2 and combine it with TS3's biggest features (which is what I would consider open world and CASt), while also making some huge improvements in the AI, gameplay, and graphics of the series.

I wanted exciting, new ways to play the game and experience The Sims. Perhaps a third-person view, and actually being able to spend hours exploring a brand new world. Just something different, yet not too far off from the roots of the franchise, and a game which did not abandon the huge milestones of the past iterations.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say by bringing this up. Does it bother you? If yes, then you should probably avoid the feedback section, because feedback goes two ways; positive and negative, and I have seen both shared here.

I like the idea of trying to promote positive feedback within the feedback category, but we should avoid being dismissive of feedback that many people feel are legitimate, and have taken a lot of their time to acknowledge, post, and discuss with other players. :)

I guess I kept subjecting myself to Sims 4 because there are some features I like and I didn't want to give up hope that the rest would get better. This is my first experience at having a game company disappoint me over an extended period of time (in the case of SimCity 2013, I knew pretty quickly that it wasn't going to suit me). I was swayed by the exuberant "building a strong foundation capable of fulfilling all of your desires for the years to come" and seeing hopeful patches with pools, ghosts & realistic careers. So I purchased, and once I did, I wanted to believe my purchase wouldn't be in vain. If I'd known that complaints would have an "expiration date" and that the devs weren't really interested in players like me, I would have stuck with my cancelled pre-order. But, you know what they say about hindsight, so all I can do now is play the games I enjoy. It still doesn't make me happy with the company, because I do feel manipulated by them.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with it. :/ I discovered a new world, Sunset Valley 2013 that has features and lots from every expansion pack, including dive lots so I'm really excited to check that out. This should keep me occupied until the next Sims 4 EP releases.
