This is a post where we can bulletin things we need/want for our gameplay. I fully expect it to be moved to feedback but I wanted to get a bit of attention first! .
Please be realistic, It's fine if open world etc are required for your gameplay but a complete revamp isn't going to happen.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head, so that means it's probably what I want the most.

I mostly just want more CAS and build/buy mode options. Pets would be nice too, I guess. But even if from here on in, all we would get would be more CAS and build/buy mode options, I'd be fine with it. Can't wait for the restaurant pack, that's a big plus for me.

Sometimes your creativity is limited where you use it most, but you can use those limitations to inspire new forms of creativity you may never have thought of beforehand.
I want more active careers like teacher, fireman, dancer.

I acknowledge it is your opinion and something I can easily avoid but if Maxis won't do them right PLEASE NO! I want to play a simulation game not a chores game.
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?
i need first & foremost the Sims themselves which are distinguishable from each other
& not just in their looks but in their personality, in behaviour, wishes, memories, limitations, interactions, preferences, reactions ...
everything else comes second to that

Anyway i know its already listed, but apartments is a very big must for me now in my game. I came across most of the things here that would be necessary in my gameplay, but the lack of apartments are killing me lately. I dont think they will be in the game soon unless they will patch them in, but that wont ever happen if you know EA.
I have made some neat victorian row houses ( two lots and a total of 6 houses with A LOT of floors) and i would love to be able to live in them as apartments. They are way t expensive to own, cause one lot has 4 houses and 3/4 floors. It would also be nice for sims who dont want to own a house or simply dont have the money for it, cause seriously who can?!
The rent system in ts3 was totally useless, cause you ended up buying the place first and the rent was never a sable amount of money like 1.200 monthly or so(or in the sims every monday of the week for example). I would like to see that.
Like this we can also have more sims living on 1 lot that are not family or even familiar with each other. With the lack of lots, it would be smart for EA to rethink this subject, cause it is very necessary.

More vacation spots like big cities or islands instead of just a boring camping trip
More active careers without certain tasks and sims who will actually work (they don't all need to take a thousand selfies on the job)

Seasons with natural disasters
Theme parks and waterparks
Functional trains and cars from the misleading background
More crime because right now sims have it too easy
Option to delete cc from CAS and adding more traits to sims
Longer lasting emotions especially negative ones

Favorites that will link with emotion,
Favorite Color - influence partial effects So if your sim is a Supernatural, like a Sorcerer, Their magic particles will be their favorite color.
Favorite Food - +happy when Sim eats their favorite food once in a while, +sadness when a sim hasn't eaten favorite food in about a week.
Favorite Music - +Confidence/Inspiration when sim listens to their favorite music
Favorite Film/Book genre - +Focus when sim is watching/reading their favorite film/book
Favorite Season - Sims will get a random +energized +happy, moodlet when their favorite season is in play.
Favorite Weather - When favorite weather is in play, If sims are Embarrassed, Tense, Angry, Sad, Uncomfortable their favorite weather can relax them
Favorite Animal - Sims get +Playful when their favorite animal is around.
New Emotions
Afraid - Fears - mutable traits. When Sims do something from experiences and fail, they could become afraid.
For example, A sim can go swimming and drown, but say they survive? the sim will acquire the Hydrophobic trait. and sims can conquer their fears, once the fear has been conquered the Trait will be removed from the Sim. Bonus: Have a Sims overcome 10 fears, reward: Brave Trait.
Envy - we have a Jealous trait, but envy is still an emotion too. they should make it so jealous sims get more envious than other sims.
but don't make it so romantic, Like make it so sims can be jealous of what a Sim has, like objects, wealth, their job, or the fact that they're happy.
Resentment - maybe after woohooing/messing around with someone, sims can regret doing that. Also the emotion stage that can come after embarrassed, sad, Anger even if you did something out of anger, you could regret it later.
Heartless - a state of disabled emotions, (Supernatural) Sorcerers have this new magical ability to rip out hearts. the victim whose heart was removed, will be physically and emotionally heartless. for a few days, or randomly they will be able remember what it was like to feel happy, be in love, feel anger, or sadness. but in time it fades.

how about Sun showers, Hurricanes, Blizzards, Ice Storms, wind speeds, Places like Oasis Springs Drought.
Cheats that can change the weather and season at players command.
I really can't wait for seasons. I really hope they make it so Snow Accumulate in the winter, and could potentially trap sims in their house.
I want more survival from seasons, like In a blizzard, your pipes can freeze meaning no showers/baths, sinks. your power can go out. making you rely on Candles, lanterns and fireplaces for light and heat.
