Anyone who has a Mac has seen the stupid popup "The Sims 3 has stopped working" that comes up everytime you close the launcher. Obviously the game actually runs fine and has not crashed, it's just the launcher app closing. But it's kind of obnoxious. I was wondering if anyone had found a way to make this stop yet?
Well, this will not actually make it stop but is about as good: start the game bypassing the launcher. What's never started can't 'stop working'. Besides, it will save you a bit of time too every time you play and will help the game to at least start with a minimal memory foot print.
See the first link on the first page of the first (stickied) post on the Mac forum for instructions on how to do this (as well as a wealth of info on how to play the Sims nicely on a Mac): a-mac-users-best-friend-please-read-before-posting-any-new-problem-threads
On that linked page scroll down to the entry called 'Bypassing the Launcher'. That links to a post I wrote earlier on exactly that subject.
