Worth Looking At!

Hi, everyone! :)

So this thread will be a sucessor of sorts to my thread, 'A Feedback and Ideas Marathon' (link here) and will have five sections: Known Issues & Petitions, Feedback, Ideas, Pictures (inspiration pics for Ideas) and The Tick List. ;) This thread will have some of the stuff from the Feedback and Ideas thread. There will be pertinent links to other forum threads and I will be including ideas and suggestions from other Simmers as well. Feel free to share your ideas for the game! :D

To the Store or development team and any other relevant department(s) looking at this, thank you for taking the time to look at this. I hope you can consider these ideas for store content and fixes/solutions for known issues with the game.

Please do not quote anything like pics or gifs when possible so that the thread wouldn't be at risk of breaking. This thread will be quite a WIP thread and will be updated accordingly.

    Feedback

    1. We have a shortage of longer hair lengths; some styles/looks are also neglected I think.

    2. With all the awesome venues from EPs, SPs and the Store, a World Editor fix is so important in making sure that they do not go to waste!

    3. Gameplay should be challenging and fun but not nearly impossible. See Band Gigs petition for more information (2nd post of this thread).

    4. Create-A-Style is a brilliant tool and very, very incredibly useful to us interior designers and builders. :)

    5. I like how the Featured Looks have improved to include the recoloured furniture in the set itself instead of having to download them individually. Maybe do the same for the older Featured Looks?

    6. Nice concept of Featured Looks.

    7. CYS is a great program.

    8. The Valentine set is sweet and adorable so well done!

    9. The Now and Then Manor - I love how it focuses on builders (quite a neglected bunch) so I definitely hope to see more builder-themed sets in the near future. :) The Then pieces will go well in a haunted house or an old, weathered build, just perfect for Moonlight Falls. It's disappointing for a set inspired by Mansions and Gardens from the Sims 2 though; there's a lot of mansion-themed items but very few garden-themed ones like statues, plants, dancing fountains, etc. It will be neat too to have some that will go well with a palatial or mansion build and some for a more modern-looking garden. So I hope Now and Then will have a part 2 coming up. ;)

    10. Bohemian Garden - love the hanging chair, weird, colourful flowers and harvestables. Probably the best harvestables in the Sims 3. :D

    11. Missing stencil designs for EPs/SPs are an isolated issue, yes, but they could be easily rectified by putting it on the Store and making it available to everyone with the necessary packs. Much like how Featured Looks are put on the Store.

    12. Missing stencil designs for Store content should be even easier to fix; just update your store content.

    13. Starlight Shores is a beautiful world and so is Moonlight Falls. Sunset Valley has gorgeous scenery too so very well done!!

    14. Possible lot tearing in Moonlight Falls; odd placement of objects

    15. We really could use at least one gown with a train and longer veils for Sims weddings.

    16. Please introduce at least one regular drink to the Sims 3 game - water.

    17. Late Night clothing - inconsistency for the same item of clothing (it is recolourable in one outfit type but not in another though it is shown as available)

    18. We can drink and use honey from the Supernatural EP; why can't the milk from the store set be placeable on tables like the honey and be usable in meals and recipes as well? Also, if it can be made into milk products, it would be beyond fantastic!

    19. Love the interactiveness of the Bistro and bakery sets in allowing our Sims to run their own businesses!

    20. Horse-drawn carriages please because we've already got horses! And they'll go brilliantly in a medieval world (Dragon Valley) and any other world too (family fun; date; activities; for tourists etc)! :D

    21. Maternity clothes 'cause mothers-to-be deserve to be able to chose their outfits in the Sims 3 (patch)! ;)

    22. Harvest Bounty is amazing. Love the colours and vibrancy.

    23. It will be beyond awesome if we could have the same feature that older Sims games have: the ability for our Sims to paint stuff from outside the game! It will be legendary, in fact!

    24. The July 2014 set is beyond fantastic, beyond words! Cucumber and corn harvestables! Tea! We can make jam! And relishes and can fruits and vegetables! More builder-themed items! The water wheel is clever and has a great touch (reducing electricity bills)! The ivy are nice and the steps appropriately mysterious and faerie-like!

    25. A butter churn decor?! I hope that's a hint of things to come! That's just gigantic teasing to all butter and farm fans.

Anything mentioned here could come as single objects; they don't necessarily have to be part of a set or come by the truckloads (except for a broader theme or when otherwise applicable)!

Store content that complement each other and EP/SP content are just brilliant and make use of what's already there to add to gameplay and Simming with just a few more additions so yes, genius!! :)

    Ideas

See the following post for inspiration pictures (when applicable). The text will list what I hope to see in the game and makes things clearer hopefully.;)

    1. Really tall and open floor-to-ceiling windows for offering views; great in a castle or mansion, ballroom, university dinning hall, museum, art gallery, historical landmark and more! For added designing and building flexibility, perhaps make the windows resizable and recolourable and allows us to chose and manipulate the shapes. Which brings us to no. 2:

    2. Beautiful frosted glass windows.

    3. Have the same material available for doors and walls as well including backsplashes and wall features.

    4. A new build-themed set/venue that allows us to make houses and community lots with high ceilings as well as allowing us to control the ceiling height! A skyscraper building kit too perhaps? :)

    5. More different kinds and styles of furniture, furnishings and decor.

    6. More beautiful, long, flowing, soft, natural-looking hairstyles.

    7. A designer's studio/boutique/wedding shop venue. New careers: Models, fashion designers, wedding planners, etc.

    8. Related: more different kinds of gowns and dresses for our Sims like ballgowns :)

    9. Cosmetics venue; allows Sims to get makeovers and have nail polish with their outfits for the first time etc; also allowing Sims to run their own interactive business.

    10. Confectionery shop for making chocolates, sweets and candies/ice-cream shop.

    11. Aquarium and zoo sets.

    12. More store content to complement existing ones in the clothing and hair department; some ages and genders are under represented! ;)

    13. Introduce the gardening, florist and landscaping career! Allows Sims to hire a gardener, florist or landscaper. More garden-related stuff like plants (very much neglected in the Store), fountains, wall fountains, etc. Flower arrangment classes and ability to arrange bouquets and floral displays.

    14. Give us farm machinery and crops to make butter, flour, bread, cheese, yogurt and cream! Why not take advantage of the existing store content and add substantially to gameplay with just a few more additions? :) Also, a canning station for all those wonderful harvestables we have. Also, let us make jams, soaps and candles! =D

    15. New crops: tea, rice, wheat and corn; new recipes to go with them all like corn bread.

    16. More recipes to complement existing store content like lemon meringue pie, chocolate pie, milkshakes, yoghurt drinks, beignets, etc.

    17. A universal business register so Sims can run any business they chose, from deli, to grocer, to bookstore, to a tutoring/education business to a bed-and-breakfast to a flower shop!

    18. An Asian-themed world for Sims to live in!

    19. New careers and professions: barista, woodcarver, carpenter, tailor, seamstress, merchant, shoemaker, food critic, dentist, astronaut, miner, hatmaker, jeweler. Related functionable objects, venues, props, skills, furniture and decor. New created objects for our Sims to decorate their homes with and to wear and accessorise with.

    20. Allowing Simmers to create their own rabbitholes is also one fantastic idea! Both open and closed rabbitholes. ;)

    21. Please allows us to have place settings for tables in the Sims! :-) Think plates, fine china, porcelain, napkins, napkin rings, place cards, tablecloths, other tableware and spiffy, new decor and more!

    22. Pool steps! Your own gorgeous concept art has them! :D

    23. Fun fair/carnival/circus set. :) Hot dog carts, popcorn machines, animal-shaped balloons, rides and game stalls, new careers. Parades, floats, new beverages and food like cotton candy and soft drinks.

    24. Brewery!!

    25. Can we have plain water in the game? And working and decorative stove hoods, air-conditioners/coolers, heaters, fans, water coolers (perfect for the workplace!), heat lamps/outdoor ceiling heaters for keeping Sims warm outdoors and new kitchen appliances like a juicer, toaster, etc?

    26. Ideas and suggestions for future special occasion/holiday-themed free store content: gingerbread for Christmas and more! :D

    27. Nesting dolls (Russian, etc)

    28. Horse-drawn carriages, in a myriad of styles!!

    29. Tissue boxes! We need recolourable tissue boxes and different sizes & shapes! ;)

    30. Cake knives and server sets to go with the bakery venue and let's not forget cake stands! (^.^)

    31. Fruit bowls and baskets for storing harvestables and still-life paintings  - see pixiegamer's thread for pictures

    32. Finger painting for toddlers - see this thread: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/0/761527.page#12205581

Some of these ideas may intersect with one another. ;) :-) xDD

Yes, they illustrate the windows' dimensions and the general appearance and function. I'll have real-life examples too when I find some. It'll probably makes more sense when I get around to adding accompanying text. :-)

So basically in a sense you're kind of asking for large church/palace-like windows? (It's basically the best I can describe them)

JodiRebby, thank you for linking my clutter petition and signing it.

Also, there's a list of petitions found here that you might want to include in this thread as well. The Arendelle set, in particular, seems like something you'd be interested in. :)
