Uncertainty Principle (Season One)

I wanted to share my current blog story with you. It's called Uncertainty Principle and I post it in my blog at http://www.starwingsims.com This link will take you directly to the Story Log, which lists all the chapters so you can easily find and pick up where you left off, if you've been following the story. Every chapter links to the previous chapter, as well as the next one, enabling you to continue reading the story without any of my other blog posts interrupting.

The story is a serial drama that follows a few characters in both Willow Creek and Oasis Springs. It's not a Legacy, but I hope you will enjoy it!

You are always welcome to comment on any chapter of the story, but please understand that all comments are moderated before they are posted to the blog.

I liked all your posts because I really appreciate the feedback! I know this type of story is not the norm (even I have done mostly Legacies! lol) Also, the subject is far removed from the actual gameplay, and I wasn't sure how anyone would feel about that.

I updated the poll because it was accidentally not showing results. It should now properly show the results

Forgive the delay with the latest chapter. It'll be posted as soon as I have the screenshots processed. Thanks again for your support!

I LoL'd at the end of chapter 10 @enkel63. Although they were in an intense discussion, the up and down the stairs when trying to have a conversation happens too often for anyone playing the sims. I can see why Darren was getting frustrated

LOL! I do use some "inside jokes" for my fellow simmers when I can, because I think that makes it more fun when you know something that some of my other readers don't know

I wouldn't want to risk my saved games and my ability to continue telling the story

It took longer than expected to get Chapter 14 up. Playing in a rotation means I cannot leave one house while there is a pregnancy in progress

Now that the story is really underway, things are effecting multiple households and so it takes time to explore them from the perspectives of the various characters. I hope you will enjoy seeing this mystery unfold from different angles! Let me know what you think.

@enkeli63 I’m reading Chapter 1. Right off the bat, that first screenshot of the manor house… How gorgeous! That’s something I’d put as wallpaper, lol. I love the moonlight, the misty hills in the distance, and the streetlamps. I know this is just a little thing, but I seriously love the art style of the Sims 4. Is the house an EA-premade or one of your own? I can’t remember seeing it in Willow Creek (I play more often in Oasis Springs, lol). Great first chapter… I think Daria looks a lot like his wife Skylar. Lol, he likes blondes! Chapter 2. Yay, I love seeing Don in people’s stories! (I was pretty obsessive in the Sims 2 for him, lol). Lol, her body transformation after the gym, wow, lol. Don’s pickup lines are so bad, lol. Indra is really awesome. I think she and my Scarlet Firecracker are like twins romance-wise

Chapter 3… *Love* the pic where Skylar is pointing upwards – the space conversation. Really neat! I love their house. Wow, can’t believe Skylar is going to the hospital alone. Chapter 4… I like how you’re rotating to other couples. Makes the neighborhood feel so varied and alive. I play that way, too!

Chapter 5… interesting viewpoint from the ‘other woman.’ He’s married and has such a ‘perfect’ life. Will be interesting to see where you go with this, lol. I play out all sorts of crazy relationships in my games. I enjoy a good scandal, lol. Will read up on the others when I can… All in all, I really like your story and recommend it to others. Very well written (grammar, etc) and excellent story-driven screenshots! Great job.

@RachelRosebud, thankyou so much for the feedback! The opening shot I took because it was beautiful, but I did need a pulled back view of the house before "looking closer" as this story is heavily influenced by quantum physics (of course, that's where the title comes from) and the role of the observer is everything (in quantum physics and some sim religions, primarily the offshoots of the Sims Medieval Peterans

lol).

The Randall family lives in an EA prebuilt house that is on the waterfront in Willow Creek, and has been gradually renovated over the sim years I've played it. In later chapters it changes a little, but it is a Historic house, so it wont be structurally modified unless it has to

Yeah, Darren likes blondes! Haha. Don's awesome but his pick-up lines are bad (they have to be). I never really liked him in other games, but because he's such a legend now, I decided to play along with Don Lothario when he came sniffing around Indra's doorstep

I'm glad that you enjoy the story so far and the rotational aspect. I really was so excited about rotational gameplay making a comeback that I have been planning this story out ever since the day they confirmed rotational gameplay was coming back

Someday I'll do a Legacy again, they're always fun, but after Sims 3 just forced me to play one family only, I was truly aching to get to play a larger drama than that! But not too large. Only characters that are connected with one another are in the story.

@aroseinbloom is just expressing the aesthetic values she appreciates as a gloomy Sim! Ah, the beauty of a shadow cast by a cloud on a mountainside! (Actually, that's the beauty I'm appreciating here IRL as we get a rare storm blow through!)
