LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: Kaiden is off to college. With a shoestring budget and a desire not to have crates as furniture in the home he wants to share with a roommate, creative ideas and "finds" were used to make the home inviting and functional. Since wild parties do not pay bills, he plans to try for a roommate who is either a serious junior or senior student or a young professional. He is also planning a roommate open house with some of his yummy cooking!!

I wonder how they worked out that some of us are new and some are not. I am not fond of the new forum. :( On the bright side, I got my build in early!!! YAY!!! Great job to those already posted--I think the competition this time is going to be very tough!

It doesn't seem to matter how long you've been a member/lurker on the Sims forums in general - just how long you've been a member of these forums, plus how much you've posted here combined with how many Likes and Badges you've received. (You need to receive 50 points - different than 50 posts - on your profile for various activities and badges.) It's an attempt to weed out trolls by "proving" that you're interacting appropriately with the forums and other members here.

It has to do with the 'points' you have earned on these new forums. So everyone started out as "New member' when these new forums came out. But don't worry, you'll be a member in no time. :) Like @SimsIslandheart said: with posts and likes you earn points. when you have more then 50, you are a member :)

My build is finished, but I'm having issues with Photobucket again. I may need to try a different site, because I'm getting seriously frustrated every time it jumbles my pics up. Grrr. :s

@ArikaB, I moved over to Flickr, maybe a suggestion? It may need some getting used to. But I can just drag the pics in the order I want :) And give them titles all at once. Stuff like that

That's what I'm doing right now. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a question about this current challenge...
It says only 1.5 baths, but what if i have 2 full baths (or technically 1.75 baths as one only has a toilet, sink, and shower, no bath)

Is it allowed to have a shower in what i guess is meant to only be a half bath?

More is usually fine--look at the requirements as a list of minimums. :D

haha multiple personalities! Having more than 1.5 bath is just fine :) those are the minimum requirements. Though a bathroom without bath but with shower is also considered a full bathroom ;) as long as there is a shower or bath + toilet and sink.
It can happen when it's not allowed to have more than asked, when that happens we will state so in the requirements :)

@paneinger In order to post links or pictures you have to be a member. In order to be a member you have to have 50 points. If the two likes I gave you gave you the 5 likes you need then it should have boosted you up to 27 points so you are over halfway there. You get points from people liking, agreeing, or clicking LOL on messages that you post, and I am sure there are other ways to accrue points like the first time you tag someone by putting the @ in front of their username in a post.

    Returning home #150

The workload have become a bit less. Which you don’t mind, since there will be a lot more to come in the next periods. You have an appointment coming in an half an hour and you go through your portfolio to see if you have any examples you find suitable.

Rose comes in to announce your appointment have arrived.
    “Send him in, I’m ready”

“Hello sir, why don’t you sit down?” As Rose comes in to escort the new client.
“Good morning, my name is Blake Hall. I’m glad you had time to meet me”
Blake sits down at the other side of your desk.

You must have blinked too long because you totally missed that Rose placed a new cup of coffee in front of you and left.
The man in front of you is still young. Ash blond hair, well build but there is something about him that makes him a bit geeky.

“So tell me, what can I help you with?” You ask.
Blake gives you a thoughtful look. “Well, I just finished my college degree in Technology and am now moving back. But I feel I don’t want to move back in with my parents after living on campus.”
“Oh I can understand that, don’t worry” You answer. “So what are your preferences?”

“I love cars. And I don’t mean expensive speed monsters per se, I actually love working on them. So a 2 car garage is a must for me. Attached to the house would be preferable. So I can get to it easily. I don’t actually have a car yet, but that will not take long.” Blake chuckles.
“Also since I’m alone for now, 1 bedroom would be enough with a bathroom. Though I don’t mind it being en suite, as long as it is accessible from a main part from the house as well. I don’t want guests to go through my bedroom to go to the toilet. My budget it $45.000”

You laugh a bit. “It seems you have this well thought through. But I think I can work with this. How about favourite colours? Or maybe items you want?”

“Hmm” Blake things this over a bit. ”I don’t really have a favourite colour to be honest. I do like orange, but I don’t like it if it’s overwhelming. But some colour throughout the house wouldn’t be bad.”
    “And items?” You ask again.
“oh a bookcase where I can learn new skills would be good. And a workplace. I almost forgot that. A separate study would be nice, but absolutely not necessary, it can be a desk in the living. As long as it has a computer of some sort. I’m starting a career in the Video Game developing”

“Ok, well I think I got it then. In two weeks the house will be done” You shake Blakes hand once more as you say your goodbyes.

“Thank you so much and I am anxious to see it!”

    Requirements:

    • 20x20 lot
    • 1 Bedroom
    • 1 Bathroom (accessible from main part of the house)
    • 2 car garage attached to the house
    • Your choice of colors
    • Budget is $45,000
    • Study area with computer and bookcase (can be open floorplan)

    Optional Challenge:
Make Blake Hall and show him in his new house
His traits are: Computer Whiz, handy, friendly, other 2 are for you to choose

Deadline: Wednesday September 10th, Midnight CMT

The door that they give use is 4 tile and if you leave 1 tile on both sides then you are at a 6 tile wide garage. The parking space is only 3 tiles wide. So technical it can be a 2 car garage.

So question can we just use one door for a 2 car garage or do we have to use 2 doors making the garage 10 tiles wide?

if it fits 2 cars, I'm fine with that, though I would prefer if you imagine they would be able to open the car door still when 2 cars are in there (even though they don't actually do that)
