OK, I am starting this thread, so I can get some ideas on decorating. I want to know what your favorite decor Non-PC items are from the Store, any EP or SP. I have so much content, I tend to forget what I have. So, I need ideas from my fellow simmers.
Here are my regular "goto" items, at least from the Store:
The Big Cheese Coat Rack - fits so many community and home lots
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:34098&categoryId=13814&scategoryId=11531&pcategoryId=11525&ppcategoryId=11509
Check This Home Hokey Table - like a foosball table but with a clever re-design
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:21858&scategoryId=11555
Music Arsenal - I place this next to every stereo in my game, especially aerobics rooms at the gym
T-Mobile Promotion
Gym Lockers - Very clever re-design of the wardrobe armoire, perfect for gyms and pool lots
Skylight Studio for the Performing Arts

Protective Pavilion - I love the many possibilities to recolor this, great for themed lots
The Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire

The Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire

If anyone wants to share images of EP/SP items that you use frequently, on SimsVip.com, Alexis has the in-game pics for the different objects in each EP/SP. So, post and share away!
I'm looking forward to great ideas! Happy Simming!

She is in virtually every house I ever decorate. And she goes especially well in Roaring Heights! I really wish they would do many more figurines along this line. I'd buy them all!
Happy Elephant:
Not just for kids, lol. What's life without whimsy, am I right? :P
and the Tropical Fruit Bowl:
In 90% of houses I build, I unanimously place this in the all kitchen or dining areas.
Scene in Four Parts
It's a pretty big painting that fills up wall space nicely.
Oh! Where did this come from?
since most plants are either too big or way too small
Here is an example of what I'm working on now.
I didn't even know this existed! I like that it is part statue, part plant.
@AmaraRena
I have that figurine, but I forgot about it. It is very pretty and I agree we need more of along that design.
The music arsenal came from a free promotion with T-Mobile. It happened the first year the game was out. There is no link in the store for it, as it is not available for sale. I was just lucky to get it.
@TheZommbie & darkwidow
I would love more plants and paintings. We need a lot more variety in both. I always use plants and paintings the most when I decorate, so I totally understand!
Oh, I totally agree. I use her in every house. I wish we had dozens more small elegant statues, because they are soooo useful. Some could be metal like her, and some marble/stone.
I wouldn't even cry foul if all they did was shrink down every statue we already have in the game to end table size, like her. It would thrill me down to my toes to get them all available for indoor end table decor. And they wouldn't have to remesh a single thing. Just take out all the statues from buydebug, and etc. Wishing, hoping we get more like her.
I think my new favorite decor object will be the recolorable rose in the glass vase that came with the Bohemian Garden set. So those two will be my most used decor items.
Well, until the store gives us more recolorable flowers in a glass vase, anyway. I'm still holding out for three or four recolorable delicate tulips in a glass vase.
Oh, and the hanging plant that came with ITF. I LOVE that hanging plant, because it really hangs. And it is so pretty. I use it all the time.
I use that "Faberge" egg a lot, too. I think it is in buydebug, but I have it in a collection folder so it is handy.
Oh, and the candle that has a real flickering flame. That is in constant use. I wish we had more candles with real flickering flames, in different sizes/colors/styles.
i like brsy love clutter (though im also a CC user ) and for me clutter is stuff not needed but hints to RL - like a hallway stuff
another good one
this could be great for table as if a sim is in the middle of eating
can you post a pix of a typical room for your sims? it may be fun to see if others could redesign the similar a room idea and show you how they would decorate with store items
I totally agree with THIS^^ I would like the plants to be lush looking, but not more palms in a pot.
@ceejay402
Like you and brsy, I do like clutter items, too, to place on tables. I like a wide variety, like magazines and books in a pile or pens and pencils in a cup. I also like the laundry clutter that we have in the game. EA created a lot of laundry clutter stuff in both Ambitions and the Store sets, which I totally appreciated. I wish more sets were "full" like that.
Right now, I am currently redecorating the small market lots in France. If I am able to get good images, I'll show you what I did with them. I enjoy redecorating community lots more than houses. And France has a lot of "opportunity" there, because so many of the lots were left unfinished with a lot of open space in the rooms.
If anyone wants to share pics of some remodels/redecorating of any EA-created lots, I'd love to see them, too. It would be totally interesting to see how someone else envisioned a lot to be, different from myself.
I totally love that plant, too. I use it a lot.

And in addition to the things I mentioned earlier, here are pics of some of my "most used" decor.
I use this on fireplace mantels and end tables, once it is recolored with gold facing and wood frame:

This has an option for a no-decal vase, that I use all the time, usually recolored gold:

This looks wonderful on fireplace mantels:

This looks great anywhere that the pink is appropriate:

I love the smallest portraits that came with Supernatural, especially since they can be placed together, one slightly higher than the other, above bedside tables, or on a single wall either side of an arch, etc.
But I also love these two groupings and this simply wonderful single painting:

FOR KITCHENS
I like to use kitchen shelves, and I almost always have these on shelves, along with a fruit bowl of some kind (usually the one on the wrought iron stand, which I think came with a world):
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:45960&scategoryId=11525
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:56485&scategoryId=11531
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:22734&scategoryId=11531

http://store.thesims3.com/setsProductDetails.html?scategoryId=13570&productId=OFB-SIM3:59084§ion=UpSell
And I often hang the black skillet and the peppers (usually also recolored green) on the wall behind or under the kitchen shelves:

Completely agree with this!

http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:17102&scategoryId=11527
I'm loving the ideas I am getting from this thread.
Also, amjoie, I totally need to use that picture frame from the Store! I don't know why it never occurred to me to recolor it in gold or wood.
I'm stealing that idea! *runs away quickly*
THIS
hmmm food for thought *ponders*
