Ahh, yes, foraging under the tree -- how could I forget? At 6 o'clock, more than a few times I've been poked in the eye by an evil branch or decoration! I'm glad you get to have Christmas 'your' way this year; getting your own way is THE best way to do Christmas. Forget all that sharing and compromising! Christmas is Christmas! :twisted:
Last year, I had my boyfriend take a half day from work, so he could come home in time to watch me open my presents at 6 on Skype (he was actually due for an entire day off work, I swear, so it was okay; plus, he opened his presents, essentially, a day early). Despite all the distance, I STILL got everything my way! *evil laugh*
Geez, I sound so selfish, but really, I just love Christmas. No one else around here cares too much one way or the other these days, since everyone is all grown up now, so they're just happy to do things that make me happy.
I can't imagine what it'll be like when I infect my own (hypothetical) children with Christmas cheer! They just better let me do what I want, or else they might have to reconsider some of those presents... :shock:

Last year I put my foot down on having Christmas morning how I like it (no waking me up super early [he's terrible for it!], only stockings to be opened in PJs, everybody showered and dressed for tree gifts) which meant I had to take on my husband's family tradition of having Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve! :shock: But in the end my parents actually did it too to accommodate my brother's girlfriend's work schedule/family commitments, so we'll be doing the same thing this year at their house!
I only hope I can exert the same authority over my kids that my mother exerted over me when it comes to saying 'It's not nine o'clock yet - go back to bed!' XD
Hehe, your Christmas sounds like the opposite of mine! By 9am, I've opened all my presents, taken most out of their packaging/played with them/put them away and I'm just about ready for a mid-morning nap, before my cousins come over for lunch! But you are right, that's just the way I want my Christmas every year; it's the most special to me when it contains all of that crazy, must-be-up-at-6am excitement. As I'm getting older, the sheer ridiculousness of my traditions become even more important to me. It's my one chance every year to feel like a total kid again, and I wouldn't give that up for the world!

Anyway, U is for Undercooked Meat. I know, I'm a little desperate with that one, but it is true that every year, whatever my brother cooks is undercooked. He likes his steaks (and everything else too, in fact) RAW. At least that isn't making me hungry, like everything else on this list is right now. I had my four wisdom teeth out yesterday, so I'm dying for some real food instead of mush; turkey sounds so delicious right now!

Thank you for being so patient with me, I'm really really sorry for being such a terrible host/co-host atm!
The family drama is getting so nuts and not only is it really saddening as I don't know when I'll see most of the family again or if I ever will, it's also causing my health to get much much worse again I'm sorry I haven't been around, I don't really know what to do as my health is making it extremely difficult for me to do anything and I can't stand myself for abandoning you guys, the thread and looby for days at a time without giving word I hope you can all forgive me for not stopping by every day.
That said, the winners for Dec. 11th and 12th have been found, yay!
