i laughed and ruffled her face.

I laugh. This guy had guts. I climb out of the pool and do the same. We both look at Sakura, smiling. 'Your turn.' I said.
She looked between the two of us before shaking her head frantically, blushing furiously. 'I - I think I might be a little sun-struck. I'm going to go inside for a bit.' She said quickly and scampered out of the pool, walking quickly to her cabin.
I looked at Desmond and chuckled. 'Was it something we said?' Reaching down I pulled my trunks back on and slipped back into the pool. 'Oh well, her loss.'

I opened the door, still in my swimsuit. 'Oh hey Desmond.' I said. 'Sorry about running off like that I just ...' I trailed off as I failed to come up with an excuse.

I opened the cabin door a little wider in my shock. 'Really? I thought it was really brave of you suggesting something like that! This is my first camp, so I don't really know what's the norm for this sort of thing.' I smiled shyly at him. 'Thanks for understanding.'
I looked back into the room quickly. I had planned on going back to my book but maybe ... 'Do you want to go back and just swim?' I asked him. 'Maybe we can race.'

"I guess it was brave of me, but I'm still shocked at myself too." I smile "Yeah we can go back. A race sounds like fun. Hey... later do you wanna go out before curfew and swim in the lake?"

I nodded, smiling. 'Sure that sounds nice.' I closed the cabin door behind me and walked to the pool with Desmond, forgetting to tie my towel around my hips this time. Christopher was still in the pool, floating lazily on his back.
'Oh she's back,' he said. 'Ready to try again?'
I shook my head quickly, looking at Desmond to explain.

I got back into the pool and treaded water, smiling at Desmond. 'Want to do two lengths then?' I swam to one end of the pool.
'Oh are you racing?' Christopher said. 'Cool I'll judge okay?' He looked around for a moment. 'Hey where'd Rory go?'
I looked also and saw her floating at the bottom. 'She's there! She's not drowning is she?!' I cried, panicking.

"No... we're just gonna swim around and maybe race. That's all." I get in the pool wait for Sakura
