On my list of wishes for this stuff:
- Iron Fences
- NEW MAILBOXES (or the option of chanign them) ***This is my biggest wish***
- Ladders of any/all sort
-Under Cabinet Lights
-Clear Roof Tiles
-The ability to change the brick colour of chimney's (once theyre visible over the roof)
I would also like to add more greenhouse roof pieces, especially different designs for more of a square or triangle-like greenhouse rather than curved pieces, and also corner pieces too. ^_^
omg LADDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One tile that goes straight up, not the leaning kind.
more cornice type thingies, something which works as a... center piece over a building with cornices.
A grand curving staircase
Storybrook Stairs. I miss that one.
Those are my NEEDS, not my wants. I like the walk-in closet idea. And L shaped stairs but that will never happen cos it's a game engine issue and even if Store Team did make L shaped stairs, they'd make the landing too small. For sims2, I always made a landing area that was at least 4x4 tiles so I could put decorative objects in the corner, or have a dramatic overlook sort of thing on community lots.
Thanks for making the thread, Danivixen!
Did you happen to watch the Island Paradise webcast? If not, you might want to check out that for one of your requests. :-)
Storebrook stairs... is that basically an L shaped set of steps?
I've been stuck a few times now by the lack of a corner piece for the existing greenhouse roofs. I don't always need it but it is limiting to not have it and is really annoying when you can't finish something off properly due to the lack of any corner roof decor pieces. One shape I'd find useful would be a sort of cake slice of the existing greenhouse decor roof end piece so that it can fill a corner of a roof to finish it off.

We can change the mailboxes now! And they made them all (I believe all of them, anyway) available. I don't remember if they are all in buydebug or somewhere else though as I tend to look everywhere when I am building a place. I was so happy with this change because now my houses can have mailboxes that suit them instead of just what was available on that world.
I also have wished for re-colorable chimneys, so many times! And re-colorable flowers, absolutely yes!
...As far as showers go, I would love a ceiling & a wall mounted shower rose which comes with NO SHOWER WALLS.
Ceiling rose to be able to placed on any ceiling, indoor or outdoor....
 Yes! Great upgrade idea for one of the few objects I really miss from Sims 2.
omg LADDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One tile that goes straight up, not the leaning kind.

er, I was the one screaming in the chatbox when ladders were announced.   Thank you very much for the ladders!! They will be very useful for attics, basements, secret laboratories, and of course re-creating the sewer pipes for Mario Bros... :P
EA made the Storybrook stairs for sims2 but for some reason they were left out of the Storybrook set made for sims3. They're super cute for candyland, and yet the separate recolor-able detail allows for many other themes besides just cute. This is the only image I could find and was made by chrissy6930 at TSR (she removed the base wall underneath the stairs, but I personally liked that part). EA's pale yellow made a very elegant foyer for grandma's house.
Agree with everything on here. A store set or and SP that just dealt primarily with Build objects would fly off the shelves. 1, because builders would gobble them up and 2, because everyone would download the houses built with them.
As for me, those L shaped stairs...really, I can't even begin to express my want for these. I can not use CFE, FCE, ECC whatever! I can't do that, but I adore L shaped stairs. I live in a house with them!!
An idea for the shower/bath combo. If they could be made like the bunkbeds are, with a bottom and a top that sort of "snap" together. So I could, in theory, have a square tub and then "snap" on the shower head and now I've made a combo. Or if I only wanted one of them, just remove the other piece and it still works.
I would love round walls, especially since the rounded pieces of the castle set no longer works with the round stairs.
And as for the ladders, please please please tell me they don't have to be flush against a wall. I could have a balcony and let the ladder attach to the it and floor, right?
Doors with k.nockers, even if it is just purely decoration:
I love the basement/cellar doors - especially to use with ladders and if they came right up against the stairs, so we don't have to create a landing, they just walk right down.
Clear roof tiles, I'll even take making the flat roof we currently have, CAStable. Definitely YES to more simple and modern greenhouse roofs. The ones we have really clash with any type of build you try to place it against. I've found they only really look good when your entire building uses those roof pieces.
I would LOVE for curtains and/or windows to be moved up and down the walls. It would make everything more flexible and I'd buy more windows and curtains if I knew that I could make them work. It's a gamble as-is.
I also like the idea of a plain door with different handles.
2 story windows, more detailed crown molding and chair rails(the base game stuff is not as sophisticated as the current level of TS3 detail) and the ability to hang a chandelier from the 2nd story and have it illuminate below (how can you have a grand piano without it?!)
One of the CC pieces that I miss the very most was a combination of a laundry basket and a bathroom cabinet with slots for bubble bath and incense holders. I would ADORE an in-counter laundry hamper (like a trash compactor) and if I could put a sink in the same counter it would make me super thrilled. I liked the all in one bathroom from the IP demo but I still build small houses and don't want clothes on the floor.
Wooden arched garden gates or just wooden arched trellises that connect with fences would be great. Also a fence/column combo for front porches.
I'd love a circular platform tool (like circular pools/fountains)to build rounded stoops and stair landings. It could also make a raised "deck" around a circular pool.
Doors with those yellow/red emergency exit bars on them for public places.
1 tile windows with a tiny frame so that you can put a huge glass front on any size building.
DIY holiday lights
The ability to make an arch the "front door" so that a house with a walled in garden doesn't get visitors to the back door.
Walk-out basements
"Stands" like you see at outdoor sports fields (did I see this in UL?)
How about Laundry chutes. Similar to the trash chutes in LN. They can go on a wall and all the laundry from that room goes into it. Ideally, all the laundry would go into a central hamper in the basement or something, but I would totally be happy with just having it work like a trash chute where you remove the laundry from each one individually.
I HATE having to put hampers in every room because Sims change their clothes so much and leave them everywhere. I don't even play with a laundry mat in my town or a washer/dryer in my homes anymore. I miss it though.
This would be a compromise. Make it shiftable along the wall and CASable so it can blend in with the wall if you want it to. I would love this almost as much as L-shaped stairs and 2-story windows!
gargoyle's and or with a spout designed to convey water from a roof and away from the side of a building this type of gargole would have been pretty common
for bath tubs an shower curtain with rail
corner shelving where we could actually place some of the knick-knacks sims have like tissues, books, mags ornaments small plants etc.etc.
absolutley love simbolic's ideas and 100% agree with Blythelyre
if an SP it would fly of the shleves ( you could do a poll for that )
I would really love a feature that allows you to cas/recolour all the duplicates of an item on a lot. Let me explain:
I have been placing pre-built lots in my world and cas-ing them to give them a uniform look. If I want to change the colour of the windows I have to click on each one individually.
What I'm hoping for is a toggle button that means when you change the look of one window, it will change all of the same window on the lot.
I would love to see Counter to Ceiling cabinets. Maybe if posible Longer Cabinets with Flower or Plant decorations on top of the Cabinets . Would make a kitchen more homey I think.
omg LADDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One tile that goes straight up, not the leaning kind.
Did you happen to watch the Island Paradise webcast? If not, you might want to check out that for one of your requests. :-)
Yes!!! Thank you for the ladders IP team!
Also, add my 'like' for the spires! I've made a church but the conical roof piece doesn't make a tall enough spire. A decorative roof piece would suit me fine! I'd also love the upside-down onion shaped pieces you see on the top of Indian palaces (recolourable ):
Copeland... you are like Father Christmas and we are like all the children with out wish-lists! Please Santa... please!!!
edit: just looking at the image of the Taj Mahal and I've come over all inspired! I was trying to work out how to make it with the Indian Inspirations items. I really, really love that set... it's one of my favourites. I would really love more of that theme.
I have randomly had almost every thought in this thread while building houses and I build little boxes. Some times I get creative and want to build a grand palace but it's pretty much a box castle with a box wall around it. 8)
Love the Taj Mahal, one of my favorite buildings of all time. I tried to make the open window type area that is on the top of the guard towers for MV but it just didn't work out. I couldn't get it to look uncluttered and clean. I don't really know how to explain that but it didn't look right.
I really wish that we could have doors and windows in basements. That sounds nuts but I want to build a house that is IN a rocky/mountain area like Montezuma's Castle. I also think that you could play with the land elevation and have a garage or patio area under a house with both accessible from outside and a LOT easier than trying to build land up around your first floor.
I have wished for this so many times! I often change my mind about the color scheme for a house half-way through while building and I HATE having to re-do all the windows (and doors inside).

It would save a lot of time.
That's a great idea; I also love the spires! That'd be nice if they gave us more decorative items and what-not.
Cellar doors - so I can have an opening to a basement on the lot without having to stop and build a small shed or something over it.
Oh my gosh YES! THIS THIS THIS!!!!!! A pull down ladder for an attic space would also be fantastic. Also, yes to skylights/clear roof tiles and STAINED GLASS WINDOWS!!! BIG ONES!!!! LOL

@Liziann1 love your idea of a sunken bath some victiarian u shaped stairs and half landings
new railings for the stairs
I love everyone ideas so far. Yes I love those stairs and the railings too; we need new railings
