Thankfully, I Have A Mod For That!

One of my Sims' dormmates was looking rather frosty-blue when I checked up on my Sim. I found Erik standing in front of one of the buildings as if he had just got out of class. I tried to have him quickly defrost her, but obviously that was either from Sims2 or Sims3. My Sim could do nothing to help, or at least I couldn't find the interaction. Then I recalled I have a mod that will allow me to change her outfit. I found the only one she had in the cold weather category and switched it out. Suddenly, her cheeks went to the proper color and she turned her head. Yay, no untimely death!

But why is it I have to rely on a mod when the other iterations, I believe, have a method to save a Sim who is freezing to death?

If there is such an interaction, can somebody please tell under which category it is? I tried the friendly category. But happily the untimely death was averted. Phew! Dodge that Phaser blast.

I believe that under friendly you can Ask To See Outfit, and choose what you'd like other sims to wear. I overlook it a lot, and usually resort to mods instead.

You can also warm up another Sim by offering a warming hug or kiss. If you Form an Ensemble, you can also direkt them to Go inside together.

That being said, I'm actually using a mod myself that makes NPCs change into the appropriate attire before they freeze (or burn) to death as I'm not fond of having to babysit them.

I don't use mods, but in every instance where I've seen an NPC start to get critically hot or cold, they've always headed indoors. I've yet to have one die on me unless I was quite intentionally killing them off.

My Sim is a Global Superstar and married. Just giving a warm hug to a dormmate could be problematic, let's say. But that information may come in very useful should another student decide to dress inappropriately for the weather. :open_mouth: I also dislike having to babysit the NPCs. It's bad enough when one of my own Sims decides to sit nearly naked on the edge of the pool doing their homework, at night, in the cold! Doesn't even matter if they have the Genius Trait. They're still as dumb as bricks. LOL

    She wasn't moving. At. All.

Yes, there is. But you have to be friends, first before you can do that interaction. I know because my star has Obsessed Fans who often disrobe to gain his attention. In front of his wife, sister and sisters-in-law. He tells them he just isn't wired that way. But even so, sometimes they try to plant a kiss on him anyway, he shoves them away. For the sake of propriety, he'll ask them to show outfit. I didn't think of that, quite honestly, but I also don't think my Sims are very well acquainted with this dormmate. she wasn't moving at all.
