No, there was a download. @morganlefaye Go into the Options menu in your game and choose gameplay. In the lower options you should see Content. That will take you to the page wherein you can choose look for downloads, or updates, something on that order.
I've noticed they've clarified the wording on the "spend more time with another sim" call to make it more evident that it's about friendship and not romance. I don't know if there are any more changes, but it seems like a quick hotfix rather than a big patch.

I'm trying out the "Survive the holidays" scenario with two Sims starting off with a grudge against one another, deepest red. I've made a couple, one female and one male Sim, made them a cheap house with the cheapest Sims' readymade rooms available, with separate single rooms, kitchen, toilet and that's it for now. They've got foxes and are off the grid in Henford on Bagley.
When I started them off in Spring it was pouring down with rain with thunder and lightning, so I've let them make a dash for their own bedrooms and to sleep until I'm ready to get going. Of course Maxis thought it would be Christmas they have to survive but that can wait! I wonder if I've messed it up!!!!
