Embroidery disappearing?

Is anyone else having embroidery hoops disappearing before they're finished? Three times my Sim was working on a project and when she paused the work to eat or use the toilet, the embroidery hoop she was working on disappeared from her inventory. It wasn't in the hoop basket, and not on the ground anywhere.

Have you clicked on the embroidery basket to see if there is an option to continue working?
(I'm not sure if this is even an option, because I haven't started any projects yet, still setting up the garden.)

Yes. I did try that, but it didn't give that option. It isn't like the knitting basket, which I thought was odd. When you're working on embroidery, the hoop you're working on sits in your inventory and you have to click on that to resume the project. But mine just disappeared. It's weird.
