Saw something kinda cool I never saw before (potential spoilers)

I haven't had elderly sims in my house since we got rocking chairs. But there's a neat little interaction they can do called reminisce with them. This particular sim I saw doing it got his soon to be departing message, so not sure if that has to do with it). And not sure if adults or anyone else can.
